Credits from yesterday: - Read ARC 2x - Read ARC once when I was hungry before it was time to eat lunch - this is something I am working on - Went for a quick walk before lunch outside to also overcome the hunger thing (5 mins) - Went for a longer walk after eating - Sat and ate my lunch - Resisted munching in the pm before dinner - Was tired after dinner so went upstairs to read instead of hanging around in the family room where there is more temptation

I am stuck on and frustrated with sitting down while eating. I didn't realize it was such a huge problem. I need to dig in and read Day 4. Will do it today.

I keep a personal-size Filofax in my purse, so I'm using it instead of index cards. It feels pretty good to whip out my book when I think of something to give myself credit for.

Lots of great credits in this thread! My credits for yesterday: 1. Read ARC x 2 2. Ate all meals seated. ( I was watching the Olympics during dinner, so that meal wasn't very mindful!) 3. Caught myself before I popped something in my mouth while standing and made myself sit down. 4. Gave myself credit when I resisted the urge to snack on something in the afternoon.
Have a great day, all, and keep the credits coming!

Credits-consistently journaling Sitting while eating. Made sensible choices last weekend while dining out Didn't panic about dining out thinking 'OMG there won't be anything healthy to eat!!!' I give myself huge credit for finally just shutting up. It seemed that all I did was complain about my weight without doing something about it. I have resolved not to complain whether I'm doing something about it or not.

Just checking in. Some of my credits from yesterday include: - reading my cards
- sitting down while eating
- passing on ice cream at a family gathering
I had a rough work day yesterday and made an unhealthy choice at lunchtime. BUT I did realize that it did not make me feel better and I reflected on what I would do differently in that situation next time. That's a credit!

Wow, everyone has great credits! I walk a fine line between being hard on myself and giving myself too much credit, so this will continue to be a challenge for me. Yesterday's credits:
Read my ARCs twice. Ate while seated. Didn't dive into carbs while fighting a migraine. Didn't partake of the free food while picking up DS from his event, just grabbed a bottle of water. Actually prepared and ate a late dinner, instead of grazing, which is my usual pattern when we get home late

Good morning, Beckers.
Credits: - went to morning bootcamp class even though my entire body was begging to sleep later - read my ARCs - improvements on eating while sitting down - read the chapter again last night, slowly - over 16k steps yestedrday - i've been doing a little yoga every day - and today was first day i noticed that it is making some of the bootcamp moves easier (I have super tight hips and lower back) - went to grocery store and stocked up on fruit and veggies and ignored the ice cream that was singing its song to me - made myself go to bed early and got more sleep than usual - bad day at work yesterday but I did not eat the emotions
Over and out.

quinn915 I am absolutely an emotional eater. It's such a hard habit to break. It doesn't matter if I am happy or sad, I eat either way. I made one of my ARCs say that I will not not celebrate or drown my emotions with food, I will feel them.

My credits for yesterday:
I memorized my 4 arcs and said them 2x in front of my mirror I ate sitting down I tried to think about the food I was eating while I was eating it instead of playing with my iPad or watching tv. I caught myself before licking pb off a knife I didn't throw in the towel after I totally sugar binged last night, I'm here and continuing on.

I have discovered reading the daily to-do list at the end of the chapter in the morning after reading my ARCs helps me to focus on the my BDS tasks for the day and rereading them at night helps me gauge my progress.

Continuing from this moring...
6. It has been a hard day and I have not succumbed to an urge to go buy junk food to make it all better. 7. I have a nice dinner of a grilled steak and corn on the cob planned. 8. I am in to the last half hour of my work day. 9. I am going to walk when I get home to get the rest of my 10,000 steps in. 10. I am feeling more in control of myself.

Have read ARCs 4 times per day for the last 4 days
Ate sitting down for meals and snacks
I haven't been 'taste testing' as I prepare meals
Have consistently chewed my food slowly, am amazed at how good it is!
Have had 64 - 70 ounces of water to drink for the last two days.

I read my ARCs.
Ate 90%ish of my food sitting down.
I brought about half a bottle of wine home from the winery where I work. I had a glass and poured the rest out. I knew I'd keep drinking it because it was there.
I ate what I had planned for the day and (so far) no extra snacks.

I read my Advantages Response Card aloud twice today ✅ (morning and afternoon) before meals. I read my other Response Cards too and gave myself credit for that. ✅ I created a reminder system for giving myself credit. ✅ I chose healthy options when planning my meals and stuck to them. ✅ I sat down to eat. Every time ✅ I gave myself credit for sitting down to eat. Every time ✅
I love this giving myself credit thingy, it's so easy and rewarding!

This is a good concept for me to work on. When I stop to think, I do a number of things right, but I do tend to concentrate on what I'm doing wrong. Today a couple things I take credit for are not eating all the snacks I brought to work, and I opted for a salad instead of fast food at lunch.

My credits for today: 1. Read ARCs twice. Alarm/reminder went off once while I was in a meeting and I silently recited them to myself (pretty much have them memorized) one more time. 2. 10,000 steps in for the first time in, maybe three weeks? Felt good. 3. 8 cups of water for the first time in forever. 4. Ate sitting down always, even decided not to eat while driving (though technically, I was sitting!), waited for scheduled snack until I was parked. 5. No tastes, no eating while standing. 6. Went grocery shopping and stuck to my list with not one junky thing magically appearing in the cart. 7. Ate only scheduled meals/snacks. 8. Actually ate one meal while doing NOTHING else. No book, no iPad, nothing. Interesting. 9. Fought off a couple of bouts of mindless snacking. 10. Figured out a way to incorporate food tracking in my daily planner yesterday. Tried it today and must say, it seems to work pretty well (pats self on back).
