Feb 24 credits: Didn't exercise - got caught up in a bunch of work around the house - SO wanted me to go shopping with him for boxes to ship stuff to our daughter and then we made and put a footboard on my dad's bed. Ate properly though I haven't logged yet. Gave myself credit Meditated

Mr. Lani went in search of our made-in- Italy frozen pizzas that are no longer available online. A couple of specialty grocery stores claim they have them, but not in our area. Mr. Lani brought back a Rao's pepperoni - inedible, threw it away, and an Amy's vegan. The latter was edible. DH also wanted a half bottle of wine (we have plenty) to split with the Amy's. Even with all that I was able to come in under plan. Didn't know he had to know right away if either of the pizzas were acceptable.

We really like the thin crust veggie one but they have a few more of those and some wood fired crust ones. We liked one of the wood fired crust ones but decided the thin crust was better because of fewer carbs.

ermabom , I did see a positive review elsewhere of the Target pizzas! Good to know. Pizza insecurity: the worst. However, Mr. Lani got six of our preferred Talia di Napoli pizzas at a store "over the hill" as we call it when driving over Hwy. 17 in the Santa Cruz Mts. Also tried a veg Round Table pizza that was acceptable. Whew! Sunday credits: Weighed - up 0.8 lb. Good to know that they get good reviews, laniWe haven't been eating any cheese at all since we returned from India. I did a couple of times when I was alone with dad and made pasta for him. But that's it. We've been eating vegetables, fruits, legumes, millets, and a little bit of grains like wheat and rice. I need to go shopping today for salad and soup ingredients, although I'm tempted to just make stuff with frozen vegetables! I hate shopping so often! Yesterday was an awful day that I don't want to repeat any time soon. I was in a lot of pain and tired and depressed and ate a lot of stuff that I shouldn't have. Meals were ok. My new mantra is going to be "meditate not munch' Feb 26 credits Exercised Gave myself credit Meditated

Yesterday was a much better day. I ate cheese and crackers as a snack when I was hungry at 4 pm. But I had only had vegetables/fruits for lunch so I knew I'd be hungry. I used the mantra in the am when I felt like eating but wasn't hungry. Meditated for 5 mins, realized I was actually pretty satisfied from a fullness perspective and moved on. I also walked slowly and did my stretches sitting on my foam roller and I think I might have isolated one aspect of the hip pain. I've pulled my hamstring muscles. I am trying to loosen up my lower back and get to the point where I can lean forward more when sitting cross legged or in pike position, with a hip hinge. I think in the process of doing this sitting on the ground, I over-taxed my hamstrings. The slower walking and the stretching on the foam roller meant that I was mobile with less pain the rest of the day, unlike last week.

ermabom, I don't have the exercise challenges like you, however, the other day on one of the morning new shows a doctor who leads outdoor exercise classes in NYC was on. He was older so I figured whatever he demonstrated would be OK for my 70 year old bod. He recommended turning the feet out when doing squats. Now I do 10 full plies every day so I thought it would be NBD. But I pulled something on one side and am just getting over it today. Always something. Tuesday credits: Weighed - up 0.2 lb. lani , what I'm finding in my late 60s is that anything I do to hurt myself takes far longer to heal. Summer of 2022, I was away from running for a month, came back and tried to do what I was doing before I left. I tweaked something in my knee that took me more than 6 months to get over. It is the same with this hip thing that started in the fall. I can't stand for very long - that is how it started. I went to the Met with my sister to see the Manet/Degas exhibit which involved a lot of standing because it was crowded. Then we walked to the Cooper Hewitt and I went through another exhibit. I've had some sort of hip pain every since when I stand for say 20-30 mins. I can't sit for long either - that causes everything to stiffen up and I can't walk straight if I sit for too long. So I'm constantly sitting, standing, going up and down stairs, sitting, standing, etc. Feb 28 credits: Exercised Meditated Read cards Logged food Used habit tracker Gave myself credit Stuck to plan

ermabom, you know your body best, but I can't help but wonder if something besides overuse and injury is going on. I presume you've sought medical help and they have not had any answers for you. No, I haven’t so far because frankly, I don’t find doctors all that useful for anything that isn’t obvious. I am thinking of making an appointment with my physical therapist though. He would do a better job figuring out what is going on. I don’t have issues with bones or joints. It is all soft tissue stuff.

I took a day off exercising yesterday and my hamstrings are sore this am. This is the problem. I have to exercise to feel better but exercise itself seems to contribute to the problem. Not exercising doesn't help. I think I'll call the PT office today. The meditate not munch mantra has been working. I've had to meditate for 5 mins to focus on what I really need about once a day but the rest of the time, just repeating that to myself is sufficient. It is easier than pulling out the phone and reading a card - or finding the phone and reading a card, which might involve walking up or down the stairs.

Jeez, talk about a Catch-22. Yeah, I have no idea why. Yesterday I did some easy hip yoga poses and then used my massage ball (the big one that larger than a softball) and found a couple of really painful trigger points deep in my hip. It felt better after I put some pressure and rolled on them for a while. I wonder if that is the problem? I decided I'm going to see if a physiatrist I know is in my network (I think he is) and make an appointment with him. He'll be able to evaluate the situation and recommend something. In the meantime, I will just keep on doing easy exercises. I'll put the rest in the March thread
