Good last day of 2016 everyone! The work crew showed up as promised yesterday! Sheet rock is done, mudding and sanding next, then painting Love looking out the new big window over the kitchen sink to the barn/arena!! Life is Good! I had a serious talk with Heidi about who would be subbing for her while it is below freezing here. Even if I had heated tanks, the water still wouldn't come out of the facets/pumps. She texted me about an hour later and said she isn't going, she'll be here to take care of the horses (as was the original agreement!) DH is going to plumb water from the house, when the kitchen sink gets put in the new kitchen. Then we will be able to get water when it's very cold. This is only an issue here about a week or two every other year! Will be packing camper today and doing last minute things to get ready to leave Kitty had a burr stuck in between his pads and it was infected. He go a shot of antibiotics, bloodwork, pain medicine. He looks so much better already! He is 15 years old and the vet said he is on the high/normal for kidney disease. Got a script for a special diet, will have to feed him inside as I'm not feeding the grey kitty (stray) that expensive food! The grey kitty looks pretty healthy, must be one of the neighbors cats looking for another meal lol Happy New Year everyone, stay safe and warm!

Hi all,
Tracked yes.
Hockey game was eventful since a player took a puck to the face without a mouth guard. we all ended up at our friends dentist office since he was the one covering "call" for the team dentist who is enjoying some tropical island somewhere. We all drove to the game together so we went with our friend to his office. It was a pretty bad case so he was thankful for DH (also a dentist)assistance. Got home around midnight so we said Happy New Year because we probably won't be up that late tonight LOL.
Libby- the big window sounds awesome, enjoy your trip.
Cathy- is the new car all wheel drive for the mountain?. I like those cars, they have a cool look to them. Hope it works well for the harp.
Faye- I am going to nag you a little, when are you starting your new tracking goal or have you started already? I am thinking of getting the WW magazine for extra motivation, have you ever read one? I a have not.
Hi to Beth, Barb and Dutch.
May the new year bring all of you more good times then bad.

Got the order in the mail. I can take a break now from embroidering for awhile as I do not have any other orders. Did most of my grocery shopping for the month done. I realized I forgot a few things but since I always go back for fresh stuff I will pick up what I forgot then. Nothing pressing.
Libby-hope you have good traveling weather and stay safe. Will you be able to stay in touch with us? Hope you can find out what's wrong with Dakota. Glad kitty is doing better. Enjoy the new window.
Cathy-I looked up the car you are leasing. Looks pretty good. Hope there's enough room for the harp.
Dutch-hope things are progressing along well after surgery. Are you still thinking about going to the Netherlands?
Barb-How is Tundra handling the snow? Does she like it?
Faye/Barb-is it still Hanukkah?
Faye-are you practicing some new songs/tunes for the new season?
Amy-I hate to hear that there was some bad drama from the game. Glad your DH could help. Do you plan to ride Lukas today?
QOTD-what are your plans tonight? DH and I are staying home. Maybe watch some TV or videos on YouTube.
I'm going to put out an announcement on the general page to invite horse lovers to join us. I hope it will add some numbers to our group.

Hi, all! Yes, the harp fit very well in the new car. I can lay it on it's side with only ONE rear seat folded down, and center rear console and don't have to fuss with the front seat at all! Went grocery shopping this morning and there's a space under the rear storage that you can open up and all the grocery bags fit in there and then don't roll around and fall over I am having fun BTW, not an all-wheel drive, just front. It would have been more expensive Libby, good that kitty has been sorted out. I get the impression that kidney issues are very common for cats. Hope the food helps with the KFTs. So, Santa Rosa has a liver specialist for dogs? I hope you get on the road tomorrow and can connect with this vet. And YAY for Heidi stepping up and doing what she promised to do Faye, I kept my harp and will try to regulate when I get my tools. In the meantime, I give a quick tune when I have to flip up the B and E strings. I cannot play these songs as fast and as accurate as the others so now I'm playing the melody in one song and the bass/chords in the other...I'm MUCH happier! Amy, eesh...nothing like a puck in the face. I'm assuming this player will now wear a mouth guard at ALL times!!??! Nice of you to hang with and keep him safe until he could see the team dentist. Beth, glad you got your last shipment out...how about that? A clean slate for 2017! Hi to Barb and Dutch! I'm going to friends house tonight, fortunately on THIS side of the hill so the drive home will be surface streets I don't know if I'll make it to midnight, so we'll see. Hope everyone has a fun and safe New Years Eve! Cathy

CATHY-so glad about the car and harp. yes, first time ensemble just do what you can do. and have fun. have a good time tonight BETH-glad the job is out in the mail and you can relax a bit.
AMY-so sorry about the player and the teeth. hope he'll be ok. scary. Feel free to nag away. I am trying to not over do tonight. I will probably start tracking tomorrow, at latest then Monday for sure. goal is to stay in points and track. I'm ok exercise and don't track that or swap for it. I hate wearing the fit bit, I try to remember when I go to work out but that's it. I used to get WW magazine but not lately. Maybe i'll pick one up. I need to get some ideas for meals. I try to stay about 6 pts for breakfast(cheerios/fruit, walnuts, skim milk) and go from there. I'm best if I plan the day ahead of time and leave about 6 pts for snacks.
LIBBY-hope Dakota is ok and glad you foundthe issue with kitty. great that the kitchen is moving along. enjoy AZ ; happy about HEidi staying. PS-did you have the mammo last week? how did it go? BARB-hope you got to ride. sounded snowy and wet by you DUTCh-hope healing continues.
had a nice day with DD. Did some errands then tea. will stay in tonight and maybe play Scrabble and watch on TV
Waving to all and wishing everyone a happy and healthy NEw Year.

Had my first lesson with Trainer Dave today. He likes Lukas a lot but also said he is very different then Rueben. He said Lukas is a performance horse and I will need to work a little harder then I did with Rueben. He thinks I am up to it though and does not think I am over horsed so that is good. He also said I need to be patient with myself and it will come. He gave me some no stirrup homework.
For New Year's Eve DH and I are going out to dinner and then spending the rest of the time at home. Probably Red Lobster unless it is too busy. He is watching a movie right now with DS. It is too violent for me so I am cruising the internet.

Hi All, Tracked until we got to Red Lobster, but that was last year. Today is the start of a brand new year and I love a fresh start. My muscles are a little sore so I am either going to the gym to walk or taking a walk outside if it is not too windy. Supposed to go up into the 40's today. I have some personal goals for the new year. I have other goals involving people but here are the personal ones:
1) Hit goal weight at WW this year and make "lifetime".
2) Show Lukas in horse shows and move up a division.
3) Start organizing the house and reduce that amount of stuff I have.(reduce the acquisition of new stuff).
That is probably enough.
Do you all have any goals for the new year that you want to share?

G ood Morning All & HAPPY NEW YEAR! We went out w/ friends to a restaurant that had a package -dinner, comic -of sorts -he wasn't that funny!- DJ/dancing & midnight toast -except by 10:30 we were all ready to leave! Got home by 11ish-DH & I made it to midnight -watched the ball drop & off to bed! We are such party people!
Sounds like we all are trying to make positive changes for the new year (won't call them resolutions!) My goal -to be better about what I eat -make it to the Y (since I now have a free membership) and to finally drop those 10lbs I keep talking about!
Amy- your new trainer sounds like he's giving you good feedback -just take your time & enjoy the ride
Cathy - glad the new car works out for you -Faye- St Patrick songs on the harp -must be pretty -good thing all these holidays come up w/themes!
We didn't ride yesterday-no real reason -may try today -depends on the snow pack/ice situation
Waving to the gang -again - have a happy, healthy, horsey new year - CBL

Good morning.
Getting ready for church. It will be a short service. DH and I ended up going to bed about 11ish. It rained most of the day and evening yesterday. Supposed to be rainy today and tomorrow. It's in the high 50's right now. Too warm for January.
As to goals...try to stay healthy both mentally and physically. I don't set resolutions as I never keep them so I try to set goals as realistically as possible.

HI- we did get out for a short (1.5mile) ride -but it was thru a section of the woods that no one else (xcountry skiers, snowmobilers etc) seem to go thru so it was soft & not icy -ponies did fine!

Good morning! Tracked yes.
I am going to a yoga class at the gym this morning and riding in the afternoon. Forecast is rain all day but above freezing so we should be OK. Start back to work tomorrow.
Faye- St. Patrick's Day is always one of my favorites, have fun practicing.
Dutch- any new leads on a place for Aly. It can be tough to find a boarding place. My old trainer moved 3 times before finding a place to settle his horses after selling his old stables. He is older and did not want to deal with owning a large boarding facility any more.
Libby- hopefully the herd of turtles got to their destination safely!
Beth- I know it is a little warm for this time of year but I am happy for it. It seems like winter is shifting and it gets worse later in the year and spring takes longer to get here. My very non-scientific opinion.
Barb- are snowmobilers nice when they see you on the trail? How are the horses?

Good frozen morning! It's hard to find a place over the holidays! Everyone doing the family thing I'm still looking. I did learn of a possible horse sitter I would trust... so waiting to get her number and explore that option... More cost effective, that's for sure! *sigh* holidays are done, now back to the normal grind!
