What’s on your mind – how to make kugel? This week’s Torah reading? Life goals? Prayer? We are all engaged in weight loss/weight maintenance journeys and we are all Jewish or at least interested in Judaism. We like to eat, we like to discuss. It is our goal here to provide each other support on our journeys, to share experiences, to call on our rich cultural heritage and texts, and to help each other grow spiritually.
Some of us take weekly turns starting the thread:

Good morning and shavua tov!
We have a new employee starting in my department tomorrow. She’s relocating from another part of the country, and I’ve only met her in person once, though I’ve talked to her and traded emails about her parking, her office supplies, business travel arrangements, etc. I’m kind of the ambassador of our department with new hires, and I always try to make people feel comfortable, because I know how it feels to be the newbie and not know yet where the heck anything is or how things are done.
I don’t go to WW meetings; I’m strictly online. But it occurs to me that even though I have learned a great deal of information, methods, tactics, etc. for my WLJ, the most beneficial resource to me has been the people on these boards. This one in particular. I think my progress in my WLJ would have been much slower and much more limited without the input, ideas, experiences, help and encouragement from others here on the boards. Sometimes I learn things just from reading others’ posts and the responses, even if I don’t participate myself.
How important is support to you, even virtual support? I know some people like to do things on their own, or maybe other people don’t need connection the way I do. It’s amazing to me that so many people I’ve never met can have such a positive influence on my life. How about you?

Ack, Frieda, I copied the top message from an old one and forgot to take out your name. Sorry about that! (But if you'd like to jump back in, I'd be glad to have you leading again!)

Hi everybody. I'm up in the middle of the night as usual. Hope you are all blissfully asleep!
Re today's topic: Support is very important to me, and my online and phone support are big parts of that. Whenever I think I can handle everything on my own, something happens to prove to me that I need help. A lot of times, it's someone to talk with and share opinions and experiences. Sometimes it's for advice, or I just want to talk things over. My mom is extremely important to me; we talk on the phone every day.
I like to feel that I am a good friend too, offering my help and a listening ear when it's possible. I have had trouble with boundaries, but am continuing to work on this.
I'll write more later. Have a peaceful rest of the night, Lee

Boker Tov & Shavuah Tov All! I love being supportive, and I love receiving support. Sometimes I have trouble asking for it, but I'm learning that I don't have all the answers, don't have to have all the "stuff" needed for everything, am ok to have others do some of the work, and that I really do enjoy getting input from others. My oldest grandson is getting married in October, his fiance lost her parents at a young age - I'm enjoying helping them plan their wedding right now. I love the feeling of connectedness that being a support and receiving support gives me! You all are an integral part of that!
My house is quiet right now (not quite 7 AM) Kids have been here since early yesterday - the river has been one loud & happy crowd of babies, big kids, teens & adults, and I am happy to say that there were enough parents in the water with all the kids that Grandpa & I could just sit up in the chairs & relax. Last night, blackberries were picked, ice cream & blackberries were enjoyed by all, and the dishwasher ran much of the night. The deck rail has towels & hammocks draped over it, drying, and today everything will get wet again. I'm going to make breakfast for this crowd. Just one more cup of coffee...
Have a good day everyone! I will be collapsing later.

I belong to a support group that has nothing to do with my weight management. I can talk about anything at all in that group. Actually, the group strongly encourages each of us to have a session every single week (some people have numerous sessions a week, and I know one man who sometimes has more than one session in any given day) with other members (most of such sessions are one on one). I have been seeing the same individual for a little over five years (I didn't keep track, but he remembered when we started and mentioned it a few weeks ago). I found another support group with the WW message boards I don't remember just how many years ago, but probably around 2009 when I switched from counting Momentum Points and started using the Simply Filling Technique. Its members were incredibly supportive, especially at the beginning, guiding me through the learning curve.
This Jewish Musings group has been one of the MOST supportive groups I've ever come across. Need I say more?
