Well -apparently this is now morphing into just a cold -( I am not one to run to the doctor -this was unusual for me ) now sniffling coughing the whole shebang! Beth =love the pup photo. Our guess on what did the deer in is coyote -BM assures me they won't bother the horses- it just freaked me out that it was literally 3' from where Penny stands for breakfast hay. drinking lots of juice -hoping tomorrow is better -I did call out for Upreach -enjoy your evening

Good morning -rough night last night - spent a lot on the recliner couch so i could breathe! I was so proud that I had made it all winter without one-running to the store for more tissues & feeding the horses lunch -leaving the rest for Dee. DH decided that he "might" be catching my cold so he called out to his AARP tax prep session -(way too much togetherness)!

Hi all, WI today and I was down 1.6 still not new weight but I am getting very close to "new weight". DH and I are meeting DD2 and her boyfriend for brunch this morning. We don't see him often because he is so busy with his internship in Philadelphia. My daughter drives there a lot because his schedule at the hospital is crazy.
Lukas's leg seems fine. He managed to keep the cut spot clean and get mud elsewhere so that was nice of him. The silver spray was still covering it and no swelling, so I left it alone. We had an average ride yesterday and walked around afterward with a friend and her palomino that looks just like Mr. ED. Lukas is friendly with people but does the ears back posture with horses riding next to him. The horse was not that close. Lukas is always nice to his mini donkey. Lukas has the day off today.
Have to go get ready for brunch. We are eating at a diner so just jeans.
HAGD Amy
Beth- Sally is adorable, I am so glad you found her!

AMY-congrats on the WL. you seem to be on a roll. keep up the good work. have a nice brunch. BARB-feel better. I hate when you can't breathe, always feels like your nose weighs 100 lbs! BETH-hope you continue to improve. that's quite the list of furry friends. they are lucky to have you. are they mostly outdoors? We had a bunny years ago that was strictly an indoor bunny. he liked cartoons and the ticker at the bottom of the screen on the news . he was cute. Used to get him food toys from the Busy Bunny in CA! (was a ball of twigs filled with hay). He also never understood Daylight savings time. And yes, they Thump their feet when mad or scared. CATHY-any swimming? how's the fence.? I got another background gig, same place i was at for St. Patrick's so now 2 background gigs there in April. I love background so while more tunes to have at my fingertips, I really like it. so busy practicing.
Pilates later waving to all .HAGD

Hi horse lovers, I have to go back and catch up for this week! It's really nice/fun here in AZ - I tend to get homesick easily - miss my ponies! Some delays, yet the kitchen cabinets are being delivered today It's kind of hard for dh and I to not be there, he was distracted with details, phone calls, etc yesterday all morning and I got a work call - needed to call 3 parents back in WA! It's a party here every afternoon, live music and dancing by the pool 3 - 5 daily with 1.00$ beer and wine (fortunately, one glass of wine and I'm taking a nap!) I did the 9:00 water aerobics class yesterday, which was mostly stretching, will do it today also. The PM (park model) is cute and cozy and came with a bike, so I've been riding it around. Everyone here is friendly, we live in the "pet section" lot's of dogs! There is a big pet agility course, Dakota didn't really like it, as a little mean dog was barking at her, she's so sweet, the owner said she doesn't like big dogs. I didn't like the owner lol! Our friends from Yuma are here, staying at another PM, we are going to get mani and pedi today HAGD everyone!

Hi, all! Faye, congrats on the add'l gig! I'm just so impressed you can get through an hour or 2 of playing without serious boo-boos. I can't seem to get through one song w/o issues I suppose it could be because I don't practice as much as you Beth, Sally is so cute...how wonderful that you found her and took her in...what a lucky pooch! Have a good, quiet day! Barb, bummer about the cold. I've been lucky this year as well (knock on wood), so hope that continues. Glad the BM isn't too worried about the deer leg and where is came from! Amy, congrats on the WL! Again, any loss is good! Hope brunch was nice. What kind of doctor is DD2 boyfriend? Libby, so glad you're having fun in AZ, but it sounds like you both are working...what the heck? Funny how dogs and their owners can both be annoying Glad the cabinets arrived. Do you think most will be done by the time you return to WA? Swam yesterday, quieter than on Tuesday so nice. I rec'd 2 phone calls and 3 emails from a NEW claims adjuster (don't know what happened to the old one except I hope they booted her out). This one wants more documentation, specifically bylaws and CCRs for the HOA. Never had THIS request before so not sure if the other adjuster was really crappy at her job or if I'm just getting a run-around. Won't have scanned images until next week; I have them but they are all in one big packet rec'd with mortgage docs. It's raining again...was going to walk, but might go to the gym instead. We'll see Cathy

CATHY-good luck with the new adjuster. just endless, isn't it? As far as playing, it's not a boo boo but a variation the key is to not miss a beat. just keep playing and keep the tempo. and I do practice a lot. But then, I 'm not working so I have the time. I'm trying to build more clients, they are building another senior community that opens in July and so I contacted them already. I'm trying! BETH-have a nice day. sometimes days to just get things done are the best. I have my laundry up and came from the market after Pilates. LIBBY-good luck with the cabinets! better swimming with music and drinks then the noise and dust of Construction. Nice that you have friends there too and in the "pet section" . Sorry Dakota didn't like the noisy dog nor you the owner! Have fun. enjoy. Still doing work calls??? AMY-nice to give Lukas a day off. glad his leg is ok. so the new avatar is me on the Cadillac a piece of Pilates equipment.they have a fancy scale that showed I lost 2 lbs of fat and gained muscle and most important to me I gained 6% muscle in the leg that had the broken hip. so I'm really thrilled. Shows I need to lose 10 lbs so I'm going to really try. Especially since the beginning of the month I was out of control food wise so glad I reeled it in. Very motivated now and will have to be careful with the holiday. We are going to 2 seders, one night a relative (we go every year) and second night a friend in town). waving to all. HAGD

Good morning -spent another night on the couch upright -this morning I can (mostly) breathe but coughing hurts a lot (Beth -you know the feeling!) Put my glass in the weekend shop -heading out to buy cough medicine (!) them to barn to clean -then another day of rest -will work on some glass & start a book I just got from Amazon Prime -The Zookeepers Wife -it;s coming out as a movie -looks interesting about a couple who hide 300 Jews from Hitler -
Hope you all have a good day -I'm exhausted from just the little I have done already -so it's TTFN for me

Good morning.
Going to try the straw bale garden again this year. I'm going to put some hay bales out in the garden spot to 'season' (rot) for a few weeks. We're expecting rain today so that will start the process going.

Hi, all! Faye, yes, I get the "variation" approach. But I'm not anywhere near good enough to do that. I do like this teacher though; she really is trying to teach some theory. What a difference from my other teacher; sometime you don't know how bad they are until you find someone truly good! Like the new avatar. Beth, does the straw act as mulch? Nice to be able to start on a garden...we're still getting too much rain I think, but it is warmer. Barb, ick...sorry you're still struggling with the cold. I hate not being able to breathe through my nose I'm guessing you don't have to sit in the shop this weekend? Amy, an internist...that's a nice doc to have in the family Hi to Libby and Dutch! Since it was raining so much yesterday, I did my circuit training DVD at home. Sore today so obviously working things I don't work And Faye, I'm doing a juice fast today. Went out last night for someone birthday so lots of fried appetizers and 2 glasses of wine. Thought it was a good time for cleanse! Just finished vacuuming and dusting. And getting hungry...have to find something to do for a couple more hours Cathy

CATHY-good luck with the fast. interesting about your other harp teacher. That's why I like workshops, interesting to see different approaches but mostly they all say things that just reinforce what my teacher says. I got very lucky. She's wonderful. BARB-feel better. display on FB was stunning. hope it goes well. Hope you are not overdoing it at the barn. BETH-i was wondering too what a hay bale garden is. only hay we put out is when we put in a new lawn and they do it so the birds don't eat the seed. LIBBY-hope you continue to have fun at the pool. hope the telephone to the few people you had to call went ok AMY-I missed the part that DD2's boyfriend is an internist. great.
waving to all. HAGD

Cathy - a Juice fast? hmmmm not sure I could do that -although I have drunk (?) 3+ qts of lemonade/cranberry juice in the past 2 days -(am also peeing like crazy -TMI?) LOL -this shop I don't have to sit in -it's just a flat fee for the month -and since I was able to set up today as it was a new display I got an extra weekend out of it (It's only open on weekends)
good thing i did the barn -I pulled Penny over to swap out her rain sheet for a blanket and saw she lost a shoe -texted my farrier & she's going out of town on Wed & is all booked Mon & Tues so she is coming tomorrow morning at 8:15 -
Cold on the down side -still coughing a lot (and it hurts). Beth - never heard of the straw garden- interesting. Amy -hope you get a ride in -Faye - how did you like the new equipment?

I did the straw bale garden last year only I used hay. It's the hay we had bought the year I had to put the horses down. We had bought over 150 bales so this is a way to use old hay. It's too old to feed horses. Here is a link to tell you about this kind of gardening. strawbalegardens.com/Here's another link. www.growandmake.com/straw_bale_garden/

BETH-that is so interesting. the photos are lovely. we have groundhogs and deer and so I don't garden. I would have to fence in an area or get some kind of pop up greenhouse. we don't have a deck so everything is ground level. good luck with it
BARB-sorry about Penny's shoe but glad you noticed in time. I love the Cadillac. I do the Reformer and other Pilates equipment but I've wanted to do this piece of equipment for YEARS and finally they bought one. the day they got it everyone stopped me to say it was in the other room, they all knew I was hoping they'd get it. I'm so excited. In that position I then do pullups so great for the arms, too. I've also hung the other way(face up) and arch back and if feels so nice. Like a backbend in space. Hope you feel better and can sleep.
CATHY-hope the juice fast went ok.
hope DUTCH is having a nice time. HAGE everyone

Hi All, Faye- you look really great and strong in your new avatar! Did you like the jungle gym a lot as a kid? Looks like fun.
Beth- garden sounds like a cool project and a good way not to have the hay go to waste.
Barb- I hope the glass sells well and that you feel better soon. I am glad you got a better nights sleep.
Cathy- Glad you are learning new things and like the new harp teacher.
Hope Libby and Dutch are enjoying life!
I am going to do 2 posts since I lost one already

Hi, all! I didn't kill anyone, including the cat Faye, I keep meaning to try pilates at the gym. It's just we have to pay extra I think. I might be able to get one free lesson, something to look into. Yoga can be hard since I don't like hand poses (bugs my wrists); for pilates you not doing that kind of pose, right? Beth, that is interesting...I have never seen bale gardens before. Kind of a cool idea. Maybe in my limited space it would be fun to try! Barb, glad you got in a night's sleep in your own bed. Also kind of nice you don't have to sit around at the shop for the weekend. Hope you have fun with Tundra! Amy, gah...are you still having problems with missing posts? That is not fun Libby must be having fun since we're not hearing from her Yeah, the juice fast went fine. I never know if I'm drinking too much or not enough but kind of used it like a meal. And lots of water. And like Barb, peed a lot SUPER hungry though so had dinner at 4:30! Went for a walk at the coast today...saw some dolphins out in the ocean so will see if I can post that on FB. Cloudy here so it was quieter (nice weather = lots of crowds). Mammo tomorrow then harp lesson. Cathy

Hi Again, Another really good lesson today, Lukas and I seem to be on a roll. You all know how it is with riding, improvement seems to come in "bursts" followed by a leveling out and a disappointing ride or two and then back to great rides. Trainer really pushes me more then I would ever do on my own. The "solorake" I ordered arrived today. This is supposed to be a "humane" way to get the pulled mane look without pulling. Since Lukas is very sensitive about his mane I hope this works. I just do basic grooming over the winter since I don't show and it's COLD! LOL. Now it is time to neaten him up Lukas and I have also figured out our own way of putting the bridle on that suits us both. Since I am short I was at times pinching his ear by accident if he lifted his head a little. Then I tried standing on a stool but that got awkward too. Some of the Florida horses arrive on Tuesday and the rest soon after. April 1st is the arrival of my friend Jane as a new boarder so the barn will be buzzing again. I can't wait! HAGD Amy HAGD Amy

AMY-i used to climb the "monkey bars" with my father every weekend at the park and we'd talk at the top. I loved Gymnastics in HS (only part of gym I ever liked) so I love this new piece of equipment.I once looked into Trapeze school but it was far and you had to go several times. glad you had a nice ride and hope the mane rake tool works. CATHY-couldn't really see the dolphins on FB but will try again later. sounds lovely. I love dolphins. Yes, pilates is basically core. Do they charge extra even for a mat class? Yoga is some hand stuff. YOu don't have to do anything you don't like so certainly don't do inversions like handstand but you are correct that some poses you have one hand down like in Triangle pose or Side Angle. but you may be able to just adjust and not do those. There is even chair yoga. I really like both but if you want to change your body (core) then Pilates is the way to go. I did mat classes a long time ago, twice a week and it changed my body (for the better) and posture in 6 weeks. I already am seeing an improvement in lower tummy. See if you can take a free class. waving to all. Off to the treadmill HAGE
