Opening: This is a conservative thread to allow those with conservative views to express themselves. We welcome Republicans, Tea Party folks, and those who believe in the Constitution as written, not as interpreted by liberal judges. If you have liberal views we invite you to participate in a civil and respectful conversation. We would respectfully request that if you cannot post in a respectful and civil manner to refrain from doing so until you can. Good discussions are great - insulting arguments are not. Since this is a transplant from the Weight Watchers website, we also welcome discussions about our weight loss journey!

Let me be clear about Trump. He was not my first choice. Ted Cruz was, that is until his disasterous convention speech in which he refused to endorse our party nominee as he pledged to do. John Kasich never even showed up. I think both of them have sealed their political fate. Trump is our nominee and we need to support him. The Obama administration is the most corrupt in American history and Hilary Clinton was a huge part of that. Do we want 4 to 8 more years of that?

Just curious -- do only Liberals need to be civil and respectful? I only ask because I've lurked on your thread before.

You are absolutely right Maryenne. EVERYBODY needs to be civil and respectful here. Nobody wins a shouting match. The reason I mentioned liberals in particular is that we have had some pretty nasty conversations with liberals on our thread. Those with progressive/liberal views have established their own thread on another ProBoard. We have found it much more peaceful to keep the groups separate.

Maryanne, one thing we pride ourselves on is the respectful and civil part of this. Gary, who knows me from another site, and I have some very different opinions on a few issues (but we agree on most)- we leave each other alone on those issues that we disagree upon- and insulting each other, or anyone else who shows up is unheard of.
I think I am turning off the TV until after the election, or will just watch until I can tolerate it no more, and move on. I am also not a Trump fan, but compared to Hilary, he is almost saint like. So I will vote for him.

I remember well one person that would lecture you all about how wrong your opinions were and then would tell her progressive friends how stupid you all were for not seeing her point of view. Pot, meet kettle.
Another one of the greatest Hillary lies....Benghazi. What was the mantra a few election cycles back: Clinton lied, nobody died. Well, THIS Clinton lied and people died. Then she and Obama had the nerve to blame it on a video. Obama even said a video caused the attack.....he said it at the UN if I remember correctly. Will have to check on that.....but I kind of remember it that way.

And Trump was not my first choice either, but that's the way it goes. Did not like the wah wah Cruz thing. And Bernie Sanders was making some headway

Ntvnyr74, I remember the person you are talking about. Actually, there is another PB forum some WW people have gone to where that person showed up and the post was deleted by the administrator, but from the 100+ comments it was obvious who they were referring to.

I'm not a big Trump fan but I will use the argument that people use that don't like Hilary but are voting for her- there is an open Supreme Court justice seat.
I also think it is naive not to think we need to be more stringent looking into who is coming into our country. Not a ban but more careful investigation into background. Look at all of the trouble France is having. Why is the US so arrogant to think it won't happen here?
My main reason to vote republican is the national debt that is currently over 19 TRILLION & Obama had doubled it during his 8 yrs in office (10 trillion in 2009). Hillary wants to expand gov't even further.

Ok, I distrust Hilary- think she feels entitled to the office of POTUS and likes to paint herself as someone who knows what it is like to be downtrodden when she is a spoiled monster. And now she paints herself as a person who will be president for everyone-- but with her liberal left wing policies she bucks up against my conservative, right to life, loves my Bible and guns, governenment should be small, philosophy on the world and our great nation. Oh, please add to that the the Constitution, as written is a perfect document and does not need to be ammended to include every happy special interest group.
So, I implore anyone of a sane mind to vote for Trump. He is not perfect, not by a long shot- but will, I suspect, bring along with him intelligent people who know how to keep our country safe. The purpose of the government is to protect the people, right? And the long lasting impact of Hilary and her left wing friends will ultimately ruin any new appointments to SCOTUS, which can do some very long term damage.

Absolutely, perhaps the most dangerous aspect of a Hilary Clinton presidency is the impact upon the Supreme Court. It is somewhat balanced now, but if she gets elected it will swing way left and we can say goodbye to many of our God-given Constitutional rights.

I'm conservative and wanted Carson. Couldn't stand Cruz or Rubio. Have no option of voting Hillary so I'm stuck.

Okay I can't figure out how to actually edit, but I my find a way to do it eventually. Any I was going to say hello Maryenne. Regarding the person that came and lurked on our boards on WW, and then went back and talked about how stupid we were, well there was actually two people who did that. The one you guys have in mind but Yogamama (Ann) was also pretty good at doing that a lot of times. I figured I had too much to do rather that go read their boards any longer so just stopped. If they want to act like jr highschoolers, then let them.
regarding Trump, I will support him as far as voting for him because there is no way I would ever vote for Killary. The fact is, if you are a conservative and you stay home and don't vote or if you vote for one of the libertarians or whoever else is running, that is just what Hillary wants. That is what will win her the election and oh dear Lord, i hate to see who she will appoint for the Supreme Court. I hope the conservatives and Republicans get their act together and get out there and vote. Hillary is evil. There have been 47 people close to the Clintons who have died. 47. Almost all of these people knew a lot about a lot of things the Clintons were involved in. A number of them were scheduled to testify, 2 of them were scheduled to talk to the FBI about different things involving these people just recently. Both of these men were young and suddenly they are dead? One was supposedly an accident. He lifted weights and dropped one on his neck. Now he had lifted weights for years and never had that kind of thing happen. The other one, I forget how he died, but he was looking into the voter fraud on the part of the Dems. He was a Democrat so ... and at 27 years old he is suddenly dead? Too darn many coincidences me thinks!

I didn't finish my thoughts before we lost power for a bit. The poster I was referring to is a nice enough person and still posts with the progs and on other threads. Glrogers please tell me that someone else has not reared their head. The other thread was decidedly different in a good way with the banishment. Hope to see you tomorrow. Had to switch to my Kindle and it is not easy to type.

If you would rather not say that is okay, but what was your user name on WW ntvnyr74? Oh yes, that is true. Nash did that too. But at least she refrained from calling us stupid to our face. She thought she was so smart because she does peoples taxes but she truly does not understand that socialism and socialized medicine is going to eventually break the back of this country. Maybe she has enough money that higher taxes do not really bother her. That means she has no clue of how the middle class lives or their needs.
I saw part of Wallace's interview of Killary. She is still lying through her teeth. What a joke. AND she is NOT the first woman to run for president. Some lad ran in the 1800s Forget her name right now.

Glad to see most of us have found our way here from the WW boards and we also gained a couple new posters here. Welcome to all. I do like Martha's Facebook group as an alternate, more private group if we want to discuss sensitive topics without some liberal looking over our shoulder, so don't remove your group from FB, Martha.
