It has taken a year, but at last I feel retired. I've finished some projects and started new ones. Today I'm making macarons for a reception after a funeral next week.

Good morning, Michelynn. I'm still waiting to feel retired! I just made a proposal to my church to allow me to have some pre-school music classes there for 3 & 4 yr olds. I just can't get away from feeling like I should be working with children & teaching music. Granted, I don't want it all day, everyday, but I feel unsettled. I will work my usual afternoon at the thrift shop but no other plans for today or even the weekend.

Good morning!
Michelynn, it's wonderful that you're settling in and enjoying your retirement. I'm sure the macarons will be delicious and appreciated.
Joan, the pre-school music classes sound like fun! Will you be doing them on your own, or have a helper?
I think Maryenne, Peg, and Lynn are all traveling today. Safe travels!
This afternoon I'm taking my mom to her first outpatient therapy session, and at the same time home health therapy will be here with my dad. It's supposed to be another super hot day here, but that's the norm now. I need to do some filing, but other than that it should be an easy-peasy morning.
Esther, how's your hip?
Have a lovely day everyone!

Good morning all,
I have the day off from work, but this afternoon DH and I will travel an hour up to Thomasville for my quarterly rheumatology appointment. While we're there, we'll eat dinner at the farmer's market diner and then do the grocery shopping.
Joan, your comment about teaching music to the little ones made me think that just because someone retires doesn't mean they give up their dreams and passions. Those should continue and I hope they will continue for me if I ever retire. Thank you for modelling the way.
Happy Friday everyone!
Maryenne

We've landed half way to Omaha for the night. Traffic hasn't been too bad. Some one-lane stretches due to road construction which is to be expected. We will be on the road a lot earlier tomorrow in order to have lunch with DD's crew. Beautiful weather!!

We had an uneventful trip to MA. The kitchen looks beautiful! Tomorrow I go through the boxes of kitchen stuff, sort and purge. DH will mow the lawn and we have a tour of a distillery. I have toured wineries and breweries but never a distillery! Tonight we are eating at a farm restaurant. Can't wait! Have a good evening! Lynn
