Hi all,
tracking - mixed results
Schooling show was humid and hot. We earned 1st and 3rd in the over fences rounds and 1st in the hack. I was most pleased with the hack since that is where I have been having trouble and I felt I improved a lot since the last show. Despite the heat it was a good time, my friend Karen and her palomino got 2 firsts in her pleasure horse classes. She also brought a cooler with picnic food!
Step project is still a work in progress. I have to wait between applications of stain and top coat. Looking forward to being done. Believe me when I started I did not think it would take this long!
Have to get some work completed. I will get back to you....
HAGD Amy

Horses are getting new shoes this morning. I noticed Lucy is really long on the front. Must be the grass/summer? Didn't get the yardwork done yesterday, had ds to deal with then the pain from my mouth got worse, I can't tell if it's a tooth or my sinuses? general pain, IB works well, I know when it wears off. My dentist only works M,T,W so, I guess I'm sool until Monday. I just had x-rays, a cleaning two weeks ago and everything looked great. I'll call my dd today (she works for dentist). Looking forward to going to dinner with high school friend and her husband on Saturday night Amy; congrats! Faye: congrats on anniversary! thanks for the link! Cathy; glad your painting again and the pool isn't populated Dutch; still busy at work? planning any more get aways? Barb; awe, so sweet about the little boy! Beth; how is dh doing? Off to feed horses and clean stalls/paddocks, Lucy was playing with her bucket at midnight last night waking everyone up, she stopped when I turned the barn light on, thankful the switch is in the house! HAGD/R everyone!

Hi, all! Faye, I did like that restaurant...in the hotel, right? Less than a week for the conference...hope you're excited. Maybe next year I can try again? Wouldn't feel so overwhelmed I think if I went again. Barb, have fun with the shavings run Libby, that was smart, putting the barn switch in the house I thought horses weren't nocturnal...I know the cat sleeps better with some activity during the day; does that work for ponies too? (I always boarded so I never knew what went on a night ) Hope you can get the mouth issue resolved. I had an earache earlier this week, took some sinus med, it went away. Amy, congrats on the show! Hack classes are really harder than they look. I couldn't win on my horse, but a young girl used my horse in her flat class and won. GO figure! When's the next rated show? Hi to Beth and Dutch! I managed to get rid of that pesky lb from the pretzel Got to swim, still quiet...none of us can figure it out. Except...the busy-body ladies are both on vacation so that might make a difference Today at work is finally settling down...still getting "sass back" from Bangalore (not really, but it feels like that), so my boss is now trying to sort things out and has come to realize what I've been going through all week. He was like "thanks for sharing your pain"...no problem, Boss! No big-ticket plans for the weekend. Cleaning, laundry, the usual. Cathy

CATHY-yes, the steak place in the hotel we had dinner. this year is a new hotel so should be interesting. Glad swimming isn't crowded. Congrats on losing your "pretzel lb". hope work settles down. LIBBY-clever to have the barn light in the house. hope the ponies enjoy their new shoes. My tooth hurt today too. for me it's the weather. it's the one below the sinus and so i know what does it. started raining a bit and tooth was better. supposed to pour tonight. hope so, it's been really humid. And the harp hate the change in pressure. Hope your mouth feels better, did DD have a suggestion? BARB-happy shaving shopping. AMY-congrats on the show. any more schooling shows coming up? yes, projects always take longer than anticipated and usually cost twice what was budgeted for! DUTCH- any more field clearing going on or is it all done? BETH-how's the cap order going? how long thru summer does your crop go? do you have other things that ripen in fall? do you do berries? waving to all. HAGD (tracking today but last few days not so terrific )

Good Morning- we got 16 bags of shavings - we will go probably 2 more times and then we should be good for the winter -the lumber yard usually charges $2 a bag or $15 a truck load- but the owner knows our BM so we get the "friends & family" discount! We pay $10 no matter how much we get -when we take Dee's truck we can get 16-18 - my car 8-9 but sometimes will do 2 runs in the car -it only takes about 45 -60 mins to fill the bags( they are the big industrial bags) so we make out pretty well!
The deer flies have become pretty aggressive -we did a quick (40 min) ride this morning -I hate this time of year for riding. DH is in a grumpy mood today - not sure why -so I am heading out to somewhere soon!
Libby - hope your mouth is better today -and the shoes go well -do they have front only?

had quite a day yesterday, went to the drs. for my mouth pain as it was so general and then my jaw started clicking-tmj oh fun, he told me to ice and keep using ib and call him on Monday if not better. After icing, I realized the pain was from a top molar. Called dd and she gave me the number of a root canal specialist, by this point I was in so much pain, I called, he wasn't even open and told me to come on down, so sweet! Confirmed the tooth, gave me antibiotics and Vicodin for the pain and I have an appointment Monday morning for root canal. I took 1/4 of the Vicodin and was out like a light! It really hurts, dh went to the store and bought pudding, ready made jello assortments-he's so sweet. Today it hurts, but tolerable as long as I stay away from that side of my mouth. Was going to cancel dinner at the steak house tonight, my df sent me a couple text's this morning about how excited she was, so I didn't have the heart to cancel. I guess I'll eat soup lol Horses did great for farrier, all 4 hoofs shod. My contractor is putting in a water hose valve as I write, it is a hot/cold faucet downstairs that will reach to the hitching post with a hose so I can wash the horses with warm water! He comes from a horse family, so he knows what it means to me Will cbl hagd everyone!

Hi all - Beth - yea about the caps & the cukes - ours are still weeks away!
Faye- have fun at the conference & harp show -the shavings are bagged (of course) and kept in a stall in the barn -there once were horses kept in there but now it's so old & run down - there is a feed room, 2 tack rooms then 8 stalls - but one has our shavings -three have BM's homing pigeons and the other just have junk! We tack up either in the barn aisle or tied to the front -I am hoping to get to Judy's sometime next month once we are back from the cruise & before she starts work -we may even push to Sept as the weather will still be good & crowds might be less.
We rode early again this morning -bugs were tolerable -then DH & I went to the Anheiser Busch plant - they have a small restaurant -had lunch outside -they have my favorite beer -which I can't buy anywhere up here -Michelobe Amber Bock - then bought a 6 pack in the gift shop - then of course had to go look at the Clydesdales -the plant here is the only "training" facility for them -they are so handsome -and BIG - most are 17 -18H!
Libby - have fun w/ DGD's -wonderful that they get to spend time & like the horses -hope your tooth continues to hold up till you see the dentist.
Dutch - everyone in your house healthy? What is Ally been up to?
Waving to Cathy & Amy - HAGD -TTFN

Hi, all! Libby, sorry about the tooth...glad you were able to contact someone and get nice STRONG meds to help with the pain. Good luck tomorrow! I would have loved a Gma with horses, however, I did have the cousin with Welsh ponies so not bad Faye, is the show separate from the conference? I know you had 2 or 3 in July/August. Hope it goes well, looking forward to your review of the Cygnet Barb, sorry about the flies, how long does the season last? Did the trip to AB fluff up DH, is he in a better mood? I guess we all get...feisty...sometimes. Beth, sounds like the hats are coming along quickly! Are you fairly humid in your area, I just think it's interesting that cukes grow there so well. We have Brussel sprouts (ick) and artichokes farmed in this area. The like to the cool, damp coastal environment. Hi to Amy and Dutch! Yesterday just errands, cleaning and laundry, as promised. Did a bike ride today, very nice...it's back to being hot so being at the coast was a nice relief from the heat. Will probably paint some more today on brother's picture...very slow going. Got the sky pretty much done but that was the "easy" part The cat seems to have lost hair on the underside of her tail, near the end. I washed it today with shampoo to see if I can resolve it. She has a f/up vet appointment on Wed; we'll see. Cathy

Good afternoon. Today is officially the 1st year anniversary of the Horse Lovers board.
Had a good church service but a little sad as our choir director and her husband are moving and today was their last service. However the new choir director was there to learn the ropes.
The cucumbers grow like crazy here. I will make some more pickles and also try to give some away.

BETH-happy anniversary to all of us and thanks again for finding a place for us to hang out!! do you like the new choir director? was there any dinner or anything to get to know him? are the director and her husband moving far? CATHY-show tomorrow is at the dementia unit at a senior community I've been to before, just not at that unit. I am very curious to try the cygnet. Anything in particular you want me to look for besides sound and feel and different woods? hope the cat is ok. glad you rode, but must have been hot. pretty photo on FB BARB-homing pigeons, that sounds fun.does he actually send to other people? we had a barn with Clydesdales and some people went and rode them. I never got there and probalby won't bother now. even for a wagon ride.
waving to all. had a nice day. went to a farmer's market and got corn and kale and some other veggies. they were pretty . also made some meals for DH for when I'm at the hotel. he does come Saturday though for the conference and stays over and we go home Sunday after the concert.
