Good morning everyone
We had a nice relaxed service and breakfast today due to the holiday. No one had to rush off to work. I am watching a rerun of Downton Abbey this weekend. I have some new yarn and patterns so I am being productive while I watch. I also need to start practicing the shofar blowing so I will be ready for the Jewish new year in four weeks. Our weather is cloudy and cool. We had a real change when September came.
Maryenne - I am glad you got your power back. Are there any long term effects from the storm?
Joyce - I hope things stay peaceful at your house.
Waves to Joan, Michelynn, Lynn and anyone I might have missed.
Have a good holiday!

Good morning all and Happy Labor Day!!
DS and SO just left to drive back to Denver and we will do the same tomorrow and fly home on Wed.. We have had a really good time. I walked about 11,000 steps yesterday - over 4.5 miles. That is a personal best post transplant. Today we are going to drive down to Jackson to have lunch at a favorite deli and do some shopping. Current temp here is 43 and windy. Wed when we get home the temp should be 91. I really prefer somewhere in between.
Hello to all, Peg

Good morning and Happy Labor Day!
Our celebration here will be a quiet one. DH is home until tomorrow. I have some pulled pork bar-b-que in the freezer left from when DD and family came to celebrate my dad's birthday. That's kind of a Labor Day traditional food here, so we're going to have that for lunch. Then this afternoon if all is going well we'll take my mom and dad out for a drive in the country and stop for ice cream to give them a break from the regular routine.
Temperatures here are starting to climb back up into the 90s too. It surely was nice those couple of days that were cooler.
Esther, I love Downton Abbey. I never watched it when the series was first on, but our Nashville Public Television station has been running the series again on Saturday nights. As soon as I watched the first episode I was hooked. They are up to Season 3 now which will begin next Saturday night. I'm looking forward to it.
Waving to Joan, Michelynn, Maryenne, and Lynne, and wishing all of you a lovely day!

Good afternoon friends. We are preparing for the winds and rain that are heading our way. I took in the plant stands, put the plants on the deck and put away anything that might be a potential flying hazard. Peg, your trip sounds wonderful. Esther, I have only seen a couple of DA shows, but expect I may find them on Netflix or Hulu. I was hooked, too. My sister in law binge watched the series and loved it. I finally saw The Hundred Foot Journey last night and loved it! Helen Miren is a joy to watch. Joyce, how did you make out with the floors in the rental? Enjoy your ice cream ride today! Maryenne, I hope you have settled in to a post-storm routine. Michelynn, the earthquake sounds scary. Do you think it has to do with the fracking process? I don't know enough about fracking to render an opinion, but common sense says don't be putting stuff under pressure in cracks in the rocks. Joan, I hope your daughter made out well with her surgery. We have a quiet day today, laundry, lawn mowing, setting mouse traps, feeding hummingbirds. I told DH that we need to get a couple of cats that can take care of the mice. It would be a bonus if they would travel in the car back and fort to MA with us! I think that is pure fantasy on my part. Have a great day! Lynm

Hi all, due to the storm that has moved to the northeast, my son's flight got bumped to Atlantic City and then cancelled all together. He got on a train yesterday afternoon and arrived this morning at 11 in Jacksonville. We drove over today to pick him up. He'll and his SO will probably leave Wednesday to go to Miami where he has some big events. I will go back to work tomorrow unless the Governor closes state offices. There are still 30,000 without power.
