I did this successfully last night! But it took an amazing amount of thought and determination! I need to do it again. And again.
Credits: did some exercise meditated signed up for some adult ed classes I'm interested in (just one-night lectures) plugged in the charger for my camera because I *will* learn how to use it started thinking about really possibly quitting my job and retiring (it feels scary)

Hello!
I did this last night, extra unplanned pasta on my plate, and while it was uncomfortable - I swear that extra portion of food just kept staring at me - it was doable and is now done.
Anyway.
Usual credits, and I am weirdly enjoying the process of planning out my meals the day before and then tracking everything. Ironic, as this step was always a BIG one for me to fight and resist before. Taking my freedom away, etc etc. Maybe the Beck brain wash is just sticking better this time. For me, having it all planned out is such a stress reducer that it outweighs everything else.
Thanks everyone.

I'm going to do the full exercise tonight with both planned and unplanned foods.
My credits since posting yesterday:
- Had a good, motivational text exchange with my coach last night - Did 1/2 the Beck exercise and didn't eat the extra portion of the planned food - Met my daily fitness goal - Ate within my daily calorie budget - Went to the gym this morning for strength and cardio - Ate all meals seated - Read ARC - Drank a little more water, still need to drink more - Have a meal/snack plan for today - This morning was weight tracking day for me (I weigh daily) and I'm down 2.6 lbs. this week

This will be a tough but not impossible exercise for me to do. In a restaurant it's a no brainer. The portions are large and enough for 2 meals. At home it's a different story. I take what I plan on eating and eat that (and sadly sometimes more). In fact when my husband has food left on his plate I've been known to look longingly at it. I will certainly plan this and will imagine myself at a restaurant.

I did this exercise last night and I did ok. I took some extra food, put it on my plate and did not eat it. It was something that I had to actively think about though. I'm sure most times I take too much food, and then just scarf it down because it's there and I don't pay attention to my full feeling stomach.
Although I am still following Beck and check the board every day, I am struggling. I just can't seem to keep it together after dinner. I plan my food for the day, including a dessert, but after dinner I seem to think it's a freaking free for all when junk food comes into play. The easy answer is not to have the junk food and I will have to work on having DD and DH keep it out of sight for me. DH pretty much "forgets" to do that but I will just toss the chips, cookies, popcorn if he doesn't move them off the counter.
Credits:
Did not eat the extra food Must remember to use the "no choice" card Wrote a card asking "how glad will I be in 10 minutes if I eat off plan food" Ate slowly while seated Walked Checked in here

I've been slacking because I was on a vacation road trip. But I'm back now and recommitting. Will catch up on reading the book and threads for motivation, and pick up where I left off!

Did this today at lunch. Allowed the salad I ordered to come "as is" and left the croutons and crispy onions on my plate. It was hard, but good!
I did have some unplanned french fries today, but otherwise a great day.
Today's credits: -healthy selection at lunch -ate breakfast at home at the table -resisted free cupcakes -one small scotch after dinner -ignored the cheesecake my MIL sent home with DH -dressed cute -daily weigh in as data point only
Tomorrow's plan:
B: greek yogurt w PB L: cucumber salad w/ feta and vinaigrette, cottage cheese pancakes with ham and cheese Ss: celery, guacamole, string cheese D: home chef - either steak and mashed potatoes or chicken of some sort
2 mile run

I had a very successful afternoon of resisting a snack before dinner. And I lived! And I a te a reasonable (planned) dinner. It was inspiring. I was not so successful after dinner, but I have a new plan.
In the depths of my wanting to snack, I reached out to my coach, and she was in the exact same predicament, so we talked each other off the ledge and afterwards were pleased together. It was great!
