What’s on your mind – how to make kugel? This week’s Torah reading? Life goals? Prayer? We are all engaged in weight loss/weight maintenance journeys and we are all Jewish or at least interested in Judaism. We like to eat, we like to discuss. It is our goal here to provide each other support on our journeys, to share experiences, to call on our rich cultural heritage and texts, and to help each other grow spiritually.

Boker tov! Is there a time or an age of your life that you think of as the best? What made it so? Would you like to share something about that time?
I think right now is the best age of my life. My stress level is much lower than when I was younger. I’m 54, I’ve been happily married for 31 years, my children are grown, and two of them are out on their own. I enjoy my work and am in good health. And my daughter is getting married next year. Life is good!

I love the exact age that I am. I'm nearly 62. I have been fortunate enough to retire, and am still healthy enough to enjoy my retirement. My major responsibilities with children are done. DH and I seem to have worked out all the issues between us over the course of a 40 year marriage... I am blessed with lovely grandkids. I truly like the people my kids married.
As I said yesterday, this is my wisdom age. If experience leads to wisdom, I am very, very wise!

Hi everybody, and thanks for all your good wishes for my DS!!! His interview is starting just about now (can you feel me praying that all goes well??) --- it's at noon and will probably be half an hour or an hour. I really really really hope that it is good!!!
As for my best age: There are positive and negative things to be said about every age that I have been. When I was in my 20's, I was very slim and healthy, and doing a lot of travelling after graduating college. Those were some of the best times of my life.
On the other hand, I have learned so much over the years (I'm 58, BTW). I think that has a lot to do with happiness.
I don't know what else to say! Basically I am a happy person, despite problems, and I try to look on the bright side of things.

DS got the job!!! We are very excited and happy. He'll be having orientation soon and will learn more. I'll keep you posted.
