Good morning all,
Lynn, I'd love to hear about your research on Medicare supplements. The only way I've approached it so far is how close is it to my current health insurance in coverage and the lowest price.
I'm finally starting to feel settled into my new digs. Yesterday had major issues with my computer but hopefully they will be resolved today. I'm still waiting for some furniture - mostly a guest chair or two. Went out to lunch with one of the old crew yesterday to celebrate a birthday. It's nice to have friends in both places.
Hope you all have a happy Friday!

Good morning and Happy Friday everyone!
Maryenne, DH and I have different supplement companies and different plans. DH's is through United Health Care and includes major medical and prescription 20% coverage. He has plan F for major medical. I have plan G, same as F but with cheaper premiums and a deductible. I think mine was $166 this year which is still cheaper than the Plan F plan through the same company, Mutual of Omaha. I will add that we have paid less than $200 for ALL of my dr visits, tests, hospitalization, transplant, everything. My drug plan is through United Health Care and it too is reasonably priced. United Health Care doesn't offer plan G. The gentleman told me that Plan G usually has smaller premium increases because there are more people enrolled in Plan F so when the insurance company is looking to take in more money they increase Plan F more as that makes them more $$. Sorry but that is my $0.02 worth.
The meeting with the first real estate agent was interesting. She suggested some painting which we knew but nothing major. We do have some cracked floor tiles in our laundry room and she suggested that we get an estimate as to the repair cost. She will email a listing price, projected closing costs today. We will be anxious to see what she says. Also we are meeting with a second real estate agent today and will be anxious to hear what she has to say and her suggestions.
We are meeting another couple for dinner this evening. It should be a fun evening.
We can really tell that fall is coming.....some trees are starting to show a little color and the sun is moving south on the horizon. I am not ready for winter but I love fall.
Joan, hope you post again soon. Wishing everyone a great Friday and even better weekend.

I'm still putting off starting the kitchen remodel. I'd love to have it DONE but I'm anxious about getting through the process. I'm going to have to drive to the condo in Baton Rouge soon and that, too, is worrisome. The good stuff is spending a lot more time with friends here - more than I did before I retired and I really, really like it.

Good afternoon friends. Today was fairly quiet, WW meeting was good, down another pound. Then DSIS and I had coffee. It was nice catching up with her. I have my Social Security meeting in a couple of weeks. I am starting to read over the various materials on supplements. Ugh! It appears that they are getting the $ from us one way or another. Tomorrow we have a funeral for a former teaching colleague. She was my age and had early onset Alzheimer's. The weather has been delightful, cool and sunny. I love it! Peg, it will be interesting to see what the second realtor has to say compared to the first one. Maryenne, it seems your first week in the new job has gone well! Michelynn, kitchen remodels are worth it in the long run, but the process can be somewhat daunting. Joyce, I hope you have a quiet week-end. Your weekdays are so busy with appointments for your parents. I know it's 24-7 for you. Hello to those I missed. Have a great evening! Lynn

Peg, is that an "advantage" plan, which includes Medicare A & B? Do you have to pay the $140 Medicare premium on top of the $166?
