Great kickoff tip! Monday Motivation: How are you doing with sugar? If you’re eating too much of it, consider focusing on adopting the plan of having one reasonable portion of dessert at night. Plan and portion out IN ADVANCE what dessert you’ll have (no spontaneous decisions!). Then, decide in advance what highly distracting activity you’ll do once you finish to get your mind off of food and onto something else. This seems like a good approach. But in our house, dessert isn't part of our dinner/night on anything like a regular basis. Even in the Before Times when we ate out, it was very rare; we'd share a creme brulee for a birthday or something. Mr. Dig did ask for angel food cake for his birthday last week, but I had little and he finished it over a few days.
I'm really limiting both sugar and simple carbs.

This is good to keep in mind, as we approach Easter Candy Season. Ha!

I don't eat sugar much.
I bake but do not eat any of it.
I eat fruit once a day.
The closest I get to sugary food is a Built bar, and that is not realy sugar.
Easter candy, I will want a Cadbury egg, track it and eat it and be done.
The only thing I eat regularly is a tsp of Lindt chocolate hazelnut spread in an evening latte. And that is about once a week.

I have been including very small amounts of my favorite sweet items. Yesterday I measured out 1 oz of cheesecake. Enjoyed that bite and went on with my day. I think this will really help me normalize these types of foods so when I have them it doesn't turn into a food free-for-all.

Tuesday Reality Check: Don’t let your end of the day self sabotage your healthy eating goals by relying on him/her to make decisions. Your morning self is a MUCH better, more reliable self to be making decisions, so let that person be your guide! I have stopped to self sabotage myself by stopping the evening snacking. I don't eat at all after dinner, and it has been instrumental to my success.

First thing this morning, I made my plan for the day. I close the kitchen at 7:00 pm every day.

I've been doing well with this recently, but it's something I need to continue to work at.
Last night there was room in my budget for the two thin mints in the freezer, but I was happy after that small indulgence.

evenings can be difficult. this is a good reminder to keep sabotage at bay. planned snacks help me because I know I have something to have and points are built in

Yes, evening sabotage is a thing. I have to remind myself that even if the unplanned eating consists of healthy items it is still overeating.
Nuts are a culprit, I have resolved to rarely buy them unless they are single serving packages from now on. Since I have adopted that mindset my intake has slowed considerably.

I love how everyone is making it work!
Between trying to tamp down inflammation and the effect sugar has on my digestion, I really limit added sugar. At this moment, even fruit is problematic. I do allow one sugary item Wednesday and Friday. Otherwise I would rebel big time.

Also remediation for eating slowly and mindfully. I start hoovering in the groceries at the drop of a hat. Sheesh, it's going to take a long time for me to master this.
Also trying to get into the mindset of daily weights being just another vital sign. I don't get freaked out by mild fluctuations in blood pressure or temperature because it is normal to have them. Why the heck don't I have the same attitude toward the scale?
Working on it.

Hi, I finished the little bag of mini dark chocolate w sea salt caramels I bought as a treat, and was mostly pretty good at both tracking them and only eating 2 or 3. But, I recognized that it was a dangerous habit to start, so I will not be buying another bag.
A sliced apple and/or big mug of tea or SF spiced apple cider powder is the best evening snack for me. I do have the WW 2SP mini bars on hand, as well, and edamame if I want something not sweet. I try to remind myself that there is no such thing as food o'clock, so that it's not something that I need to have every day.
I also do look at sugar amounts in the NI data, and am careful about that since I do eat a lot of fruit on my own.
Credits Continuing on a tracking streak Slow, mindful, seated eating I reached out to my coach today, hoping to keep that relationship continuing. Began thinking about my next meal plan items, grocery shopping tomorrow. Looking at weather for the rest of the week, getting exercise plan in mind.

Welcome to those joining from the most recent walkthrough! Wednesday Sabotage: I want to be free to eat whatever I want. Response: I can be free to eat whatever I want, or I can stop fooling myself and finally lose weight for good. Every time matters. Being free to eat whatever I want means gaining weight and feeling out of control. It’s not worth it. Good morning, Got my grocery list based on the new week's meal plan all ready for Geezer Hour at TJs and on to Aldi's on the floor below. I am back on my rule of buying nothing that's not on the list, unless there is an unexpected fruit or veg newly seasonally available, or on sale. NO EASTER OR ANY OTHER CANDY.
Ate OP yesterday, tho light on veggies at lunch. Mindfully, slowly, seatedly. 🙂
Looking forward to getting a good walkabout to the storeswith Mr Wheelie, maybe there will be some crocus or daffodils to see, if that stupey snowstorm didn't kill'em.
Happy St Patrick's Day, everyone. I'm not interested in venturing near any pubs for a 'wee dram' today-too peopley. I'm ok with that.

I seem to be doing well these past few days. I will admit to a few small slivers of irish soda bread last night with some kerrygold butter, but I tracked it.
Bonus:
-I've already tracked most of dinner tonight -I attended my first 0430 strength training zoom with my old RPM instructor. I've missed talking to him so much. He retired just about 2 years ago and is such an inspiration for fitness, and a genuinely nice person. -I got in my vitamins, water, tracking and walking yesterday. 8/9 active hours, as I had a massage yesterday afternoon.

happy St Patrick's day. we will have a St Paddy's day pizza party. make your own personal pizza on flatbread. should be fun for the 3 year old grandson and portion controlled for me. also can use lactose free cheese. I usually can't eat pizza but this way works for my digestive issues and diet plan.

I'm working hard to adjust my diet to actually allow me to eat what I want (in small sensible portions). So, I can eat what I want just not in any quantity I want.

Something wasn't working with the strength training zoom this morning but instead of giving up and going back to the couch for knitting and podcasts, I looked up a YWA video and did some yoga, which was honestly great after yesterdays strength. Yesterday also went well. I didn't over indulge in anything, but I did consume two beers. Light beers, because I don't do anything other than crappy coors light these days
