Good morning to all!
Peg, thinking of you today and hoping for a successful surgery!
I had a lovely dinner with my two friends. We actually planned a trip over dinner - in February we're going to meet up at a place in Georgia called Paraquan, a place built by a visionary artist. It's near Warm Springs so we'll go there as well.
The big news for the week is that my older DS and his SO have decided to move to Buffalo. You may recall that my younger DS is near there. DS1 has some mental health issues, and I hope he will do okay there. It will be quite a change for him after living in Central America for so long. We are driving up there on the 21st so it will be good to see everyone at once.
Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning friends. Prayers for successful surgery for Peg today. Maryenne, I am glad you will have a chance to visit with both sons at the same time. It's nice they are living in the same city. Your February trip sounds like fun! Today is all about wintering the house. Turn off outside water, get the air out of the water lines, taking the A.C. unit out of the bedroom window, cleaning up the gardens. I hope to get out for a foliage ride tomorrow. Bob Dylan is receiving the Nobel Prize for Literature! Great choice. Songwriters are poets and his songs certainly reflect the times. Have a great day! Lynn

Good morning everyone! Peg, thinking of you and hope that all is going well, and you'll have a quick recovery.
I have a roast in my crockpot and it is smelling delicious. This is the first time I have ever tried cooking one on high in my crockpot, but I need to have it ready in time for lunch which is usually between 12:30 and 1:00. I'm hoping it will still be tender, and that it will taste as good as it smells.
It's cloudy out this morning, but I don't think we're supposed to get rain before tomorrow so after lunch my plan is for us to get our flu shots. Hopefully this will be a good time for that. My mom has been less agitated and irritable for the last few days, but I can tell she's having more issues with being confused about place. This morning she slept later than normal, and while I was checking my dad's blood pressure he told me that he can tell she is "losing ground." I know how sad this is for me, and can only imagine how sad it must be for him to see this happening to her and be so helpless to change it. But, she has had no angry, accusatory outbursts for almost a week now so we will concentrate on the positives.
Wishing each one of you a lovely day!

Blood test showed no anemia ... shortness of breath is from severe pulmonary edema ... probably heart insufficiency (formerly known as "congestive heart failure") .. diagnostic tests continue ... he's in the hospital where I used to work ..

Hi all! Surgery went well. We got back home about 1. I watched some TV and then napped. A pain pill is probably in my near future. More tomorrow!
Thanks for all the positive thoughts and vibes.
Peg

Michelynn, it sounds like your DH is in good hands. Continued well wishes for him and for you as well. Joyce, continued thoughts and prayers for your parents and you, too. Peg, glad your surgery went well. We got everything done on our list this morning and went for a ride to a nearby state park. The colors are beautiful! Have a good evening! Lynn
