Good morning all and Happy TGIF!!
We had a good trip to see DH's eye surgeon, won't be going back unless something would change. We went early and enjoyed a nice deli lunch. I don't understand why restaurants serve soooo much. A whole sandwich with chips was about a dollar cheaper than a half sandwich with a cup of soup?? I don't understand, I suppose it relates to demand??
Today is lunch with our usual group and I have to work more on the snowmen as our family gathering is a week from Sunday.
What is everyone up to?? Any fun plans for the weekend??

Good morning Peg and everyone,
We had a long but pleasant trip up through the middle of Georgia to pick up my car. Wow, they did a beautiful job reconstructing the hood, fenders, grill, headlights - it looks brand new! We caravanned back and stopped at a sausage place which also sells local canned products like jellies, sauces, pickled things, so we picked up a few gifts.
DH has to drive to Orlando today for his BIL's funeral tomorrow. I'm not going but he doesn't want to commit to coming back Sunday, which is fine. Tomorrow I will go a couple of hours west of here to a small family reunion with my sister and cousins of my mother. These are people I don't really know so it will be interesting. To be honest, I'd like to have the day to myself, but my sister had hand surgery and can't drive so I'll do it for that reason.

Good afternoon everyone.
We have the most glorious fall day today. Sunny, warm. But this, too, shall pass. The weather forecast shows cooler weather coming.
We had a lovely visit with DH's siblings. They left this morning for Maine.
I have started prepping for Thanksgiving. I froze the squash, turnip and carrot mash. I bought the cranberries ready for whole berry cranberry sauce. I will make it next week. Our Thanksgiving gathering is at our house. We leave Wednesday for a long weekend in New Hampshire and then have something going every evening until Thanksgiving Day. We are responsible for the turkey, pork roast and veggie mash. Everyone else who comes brings something. I love Thanksgiving, it is so laid back compared to Christmas.
This afternoon DH and I will go to Barnes and Noble to pick up a book for him. The I will be making some Christmas soaps.
Dinner tonight is a beef chili I made the other day, corn bread and salad.
Janice, that is interesting about the therapy dogs. It sounds like dogs in the healing "profession" suffer from burn-out.
Maryenne, enjoy your family reunion.
Peg, have a great lunch out.
