Good morning- BETH-hope you are enjoying Bible study. CATHY-how was the cornbread? AMY-sounds like you do eventing . do you wear an eventing vest when you go out with Lukas to jump?
ensemble went very well. 12 of us and the youngest was in 1st grade. We do some stuff together, there is a junior ensemble and so about halfway thru they sit down and the senior ensemble plays alone the rest of the show (by senior it's experience playing, not age) it was fun.

Busy fun weekend. No horse time I wish I could send some rain over across the country! My arena is a pond again, I'll have to set up the pump again. Still trying to get over this cold. Wave to all, working today helping with interviewing (no it's not for my position), it's my old manager position I retired from over a year ago, they had someone in it that didn't work out to well.

Morning all - guess i missed yesterday ! Faye -glad your ensemble went well -loved the FB photo! You look great! Libby -sorry you are having a hard time shaking the cold -I hate when they hang on! Maybe this week it will break! Amy -sounds like you & Lukas are settling in to each other well - so happy for you!
had a lovely ride yesterday & heading out in a bit for one today - the weather is just fantasic -almost 60 out already-riding in just a t-shirt (and orange hunt vest) in mid November - a bonus!

Hi all!
Faye, glad the music went well yesterday. Libby, sorry about the pond. I think we're supposed to be getting rain sometime this week. Hope you can shake your cold soon (I know my brother had it, and he promptly gave it to our 80+ yo dad!). Beth, glad you had a nice quiet Sunday. Barb, good on you for getting out riding a lot! Has Tundra gone again since her meet up with the porcupine? Amy, it does sound like you're getting the hang of Lukas. Did he do eventing in Europe?
I made 2 different batches of cornbread. The first batch, by scratch, was kind of crunchy. The corn meal might have been the wrong one. So I tried Libby's suggestion of TJ's since I was there anyway. That turned out just fine so took that batch. The dinner was very nice...only 7 of us, but the woman who hosted it had a lovely townhouse...great balcony and patio, overlooking a greenbelt. Sigh...
Got in a hike yesterday, and hope to swim today.

Good morning Tuesday
DH has an eye exam today to test for glaucoma. His DM has it and apparently it runs in her side of the family. Then a week from today he gets his root canal.
Cathy-crunch cornbread? Mine is crispy on the bottom as I cook mine in a cast iron skillet. Glad Libby's idea worked out for you.

Morning- Cathy - hope you got your swim in -I know I've asked before (CRS!) is it outdoors? We have taken Tundra to the trails again -but at that section we put her on a leash so she can't run into the rocks/woods -of course the porcupines could be anywhere but.....hopefully she has learned her lesson! Do you make your cornbread from scratch? Impressive if you do - I'm more of a Jiffy mix girl!
Libby - hope your ring dries up -and yes, send us some of the wet! (not too much) do your horses go out in the rain? Feel better soon.
Yesterday's ride was lovely, as I said, I am doing as much as I can while the weather holds. It rained a bit last night -& predicting more today so probably won't ride today -luckily it is still warm & even tonite only in the 40's so I can take her sheet off & she will be fine. DH helped we switch out the slow feeder net on the fence line yesterday (for breakfast hay)The screws were stuck & then threading the loops is a 2 person job! Skip (her roommate!) chews holes in both nets at some point in time so the "slow feeding" becomes a moot point since there is a hole big enough for a horse nose to go thru!
Getting my nails done this afternoon & delivering some new glass to the shop in town. Then trying to organize for this weekend's show.
waving to Faye, Amy, Dutch, Beth -we seemed to have lost Allison - still working on getting Judy here! Ride if you can - HAGD - CBL

Hi, all!
Beth, I'd try the cast iron skillet approach if I had one. I had to buy a 9x9" pan as it was since that was something I didn't have. The bottom wasn't crunchy, just the corn meal itself. Your DH is having one heck of a November! Barb, have fun at the manicure! Yeah, it's an outdoor pool. Faye, having a trainer you like is half the battle...the other half is getting there! Are you also light on rain so far this year? Libby, hope you're feeling better!
No pool yesterday...it was one of those Monday's. In spreadsheets all day until around 3:30. If I'd gone to the pool, I would have been at it until 5:30...bleh.
Today is the last watercolor lesson. At least until she comes back to visit or give workshops. I think we're working on composition, so you bring pictures that you want to combine. I had this great image while I was walking last week, along one of my neighborhood roads. A SUV went by and there was a yellow lab in the back and he was just so happy, sun on his face, wind in his ears, hanging out the rear window. I thought I'd try to put that together somehow...wish me luck!

DH came home and said the eye dr wants to get a second opinion about his condition. We are waiting to hear from the 2nd dr to find out when that appt is. DH didn't get it all straight but it's something about his rt cornea being thinner than the Lt and some other stuff. She gave him some Travatan eye drops 1 drop in his rt eye at night. He goes back to see her on Dec 16. His DM has glaucoma and probably her dad did too as he went blind.
Faye does any of this makes any sense to you?

Morning - faye - I keep forgetting you were an eye doctor in your "past life!" and your point about another person to "take notes" is a good one! Hope you got your stuff done yesterday before the rains hit- yes they are saying colder (not bitter ) this weekend. That could be bad for my show (Sunday) if it's too cold/wet people might not come out -but the good thing is that this show is a "pie & craft" show -long running -people line up very early to buy the pies & then shop. Keeping fingers crossed. DH is helping me set up on Sat & a friend is going on SUnday with me -it's about an hour away!
Cathy -sorry you missed your swim. Hope you get one in today -funny how work keeps getting in the way of life!
Beth - hope all gets figured out w/ DH -
Amy - did you say you might take Lukas to a show next month? what division would you show?
Spending the morning re-sorting for this weekend show -then will feed horses lunch & relax a bit - DH has a class at the local college (they have "senior" classes of all sorts) and bowling in the afternoon -so I have a day to myself!
Waving to the rest - HAGD - ride if you can - CBL

Hi, all!
Faye, yes, it is nice to have an eye practitioner in the group! Also, good idea to have someone go with you to get all the info. I still have to call about my glasses that don't work. Barb, good luck at the show this weekend. I hope the weather "helps" the show whether it's rain or shine! What class is your DH taking? Beth, yikes...DH is having a bad November! Hope you can sort out what the issue is. There are more meds available now to help with things like glaucoma than there were years ago.
Last painting class yesterday. She will be back periodically to give workshops so something to look forward to. I have a long way to go to finish what I started yesterday but it's cute. Hopefully it turns out as well as I want it to!
I WILL swim today! My project manager invited me to the client for drinks, but it's 1.25 hour drive one way...just not worth it for drinks.

Hello all! Sounds like you're all doing pretty good. I'm with Libby - happy to ship rain to drought areas! I think my pasture is floating and it's all sloped! But in good news. Bought ANOTHER rain sheet! lol Also bought and we installed a 12x12 shelter for ally. Just a temporary modular shelter. It will keep her dry DH started working w/ her to get in. lol He likes her, but pretty horse ignorant. It's cute. HAGD!

Thank you all for the well wishes! This "cold" has been a doosey! I'm going to the prison this afternoon to catch up with 3 moms/babies that I didn't get to see when I was sick. Still taking some cold medicines, to keep the coughing down. I have two weeks of very little work! So excited about the kitchen happening. The contractor is coming over next Tuesday to take a look at everything. My DSIL and husband will be here Monday, he wants in on the demolition fun! They will stay here while we are in Hawaii the first two weeks of December (should be good for this cold). I'm having Thanksgiving dinner here this Saturday, people keep saying they are coming, I'm counting 24 adults already! Everyone is bringing something and my dd and dsister are coming early to help me set everything up! Dutch, I'll bet Allie likes her shed! Barb, Is penny the one who chewed the whole in the slow feeder? Hope your db and df are better Faye; nice to have the vision background! Beth, sorry about dh's diagnoses Cathy; how is kitty doing? 1 -1/2 hrs is a long way to drive for drinks! Wave to anyone I missed. Off to get ready to leave for work

CATHY-that is a long drive for drinks. enjoy swimming, hope the goggles don't fog .Can't believe you still are having issues with the glasses. By the time you get them fixed you'll have a new Rx LIBBY-Hawaii --sounds fabulous. and enjoy the kitchen re-do. we did it when DD went to college; I always lived in an apt, this is my first and only house, so it was exciting to watch. BARB-enjoy relaxing.do you bowl too or just DH? is it a league? DUTCH-Maybe Ally will figure it out the first snow! Amy had trouble getting on the board so I messaged the link. hope she finds us!! I'll keep an eye on her Don't want her lost in cyberspace great harp lesson. the student after me didn't come so I stayed the extra hour. so a 2 hr lesson. won't go next week so can clean and set up for Thanksgiving. the traffic back was so bad because of construction I think I sat for 20 min at one place hoping my frozen foods (there's a Whole foods near my harp lesson) wouldn't melt. waving to all. Well I've waited all day for the eye dr to call me back. All DH or I could get was the answering machine. We left messages. I don't know if they're having phone issues, closed the office for the day for some reason or what. I did get it out of DH that there was a slight difference of pressures in his eyes as well as one cornea being thinner than the other. All we can do is wait.
Faye-wow a 2 hr practice.
Libby-you can't go to Hawaii without taking me LOL. Sounds like you will have great fun. Never been there myself.
Dutch-glad DH likes Ally. Is the new shelter completely enclose or just a roof with a side or 2?
Cathy-I wouldn't go that far just for drinks. Not worth it for me.
Amy-hope you can get on board here.
Barb-pie and crafts? Sounds like a great show. Hope the weather holds.

Hello all It's mostly enclosed (door in front) but officially its just bars above the door/front wall - so will keep her dry, but not warm. That's ok. Evenings get cold here, but mild days. So this will help with wind/rain, blanket offers warmth

Hi horse lovers, had a nice dinner party at Mongolian grill, where they cook the food you picked out in front of you! It was ds's birthday, can't believe he's 35! It was so sad at the prison yesterday. A very young incarcerated mom, baby still in hospital with pneumonia and opiate withdrawals. All she could do is cry, almost just cried with her! It's easy to get judgmental - yet here was a young girl who has been used and abused her whole life, and she was reaching out for hope (sorry pretty deep). Give all you children and/or furry babies a big hug today Working a little today and if it doesn't rain, I'd like to ride!

Hi, all! Libby, that is so sad. I know we judge these young woman w/o knowing their background. Thanks for making is all real for us! On a lighter note, I agree with Beth...you can't go to Hawaii w/o us!!! Faye, wow...a 2 hour lesson!??!? That's amazing! I don't think I could go over an hour. Sometimes 45 min seems really fast, sometimes it drags. I guess it depends on what you're going and whether you love it Beth, so little by little you'll get the info you need from your DH...too funny (if it wasn't so serious)! Hope you can get through to the eye doctor. Barb, any riding today? I guess we're supposed to have rain this weekend. We'll see... Dutch, how fun though that your DH is getting involved with Ally...like a large dog Got in the swim...yay! I used the defogger on the glasses and that helped. Dodged the drinks but then the project manager wanted me to come up today (still 1.25 hour drive) to go into San Francisco for the evening. Thank goodness I have the eye appointment (yes, taking in glasses...again!) and my harp lesson. I used to go into SF all the time...don't need to anymore Cathy
