Over 60 and Still Working/Wednesday

Esther, glad to see you back and glad you escaped the storm!

Lynn, how does it feel to be back at school?

Joyce, hope you are having good weather.

Nothing much to report here. It's a gorgeous sunny day and when it warms up some, I might do the crossword puzzle out on the porch. I've also got porch plants that definitely need to move back outside. I might do that today also. I've made some refrigerator oatmeal that I'll have in a couple of hours. I have a therapy appointment at 4.

Friday Suzanne, Teresa and I are going over to Jekyll Island til Sunday. Teresa has made all the reservations and will meet us there. Suzanne will drive the two of us over there.

Maryenne, the girls' trip to Jekyll Island for the weekend sounds like a lot of fun. Enjoy that!

Lynn, glad you found the Super Mario figure for your DGGS. I'm sure he loved it!

Esther, so glad you had a good trip to San Diego and made it safely through the storm. The footage CNN was showing looked really terrible. Fingers crossed that Don will not catch Covid.

All is well here, and yes, we are having nice weather with lovely sunshine. Yesterday I never made it here as I saw my new PC doctor about the fact that my blood sugar has been running so high, and I just haven't been able to get it under control. This is a new doctor as our old doctor retired at the end of the year. This doctor seemed very nice, and I liked him. He's young though (I think younger than our children), which really makes me miss our doctor who retired. As I expected he added a medication for me. I've been only taking Trulicity which is one injection a week. He added Metformin which is a pill I'll take twice a day. He also told me that we may need to readjust a few more times before we get it just right. Afterwards I went to the grocery store, and somehow the day was gone.

I'm not sure if I mentioned it here or not, but DH wants to take a trip back home to Serbia. This, we feel sure, at 85 will be his last time back, and it will be my first time to go. He's making plans for us to go at the beginning of September. My "job" is to find our flights so I'm going to be working on that today. So we'll be doing Hawaii in April and Serbia in September. It will be quite the year of travel for us. Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly.

Good afternoon!

School is back in session and I am starting to observe my student teachers in the classrooms. So far things are going great, but I am still waiting for an answer from the IT guy about a discrepancy I saw in our evaluation system.. Even if it’s “thanks for the heads up, we’re looking into it.” Sigh.

Glad Esther had a good time in San Diego in spite of her cold and the rain.

maryenne , enjoy your weekend away. Road trip!

Joyce, you will be doing a lot of traveling this year! I hope you can get some good flights to Serbia. Does Nick still have family there?

My car had a routine appointment this morning, then I went for a mani-pedi. I emailed my students about their classroom placements and now I am checking in with you and probably going to start a new book. BLTs and minestrone soup for dinner tonight.
