Over 60 and still working/ Saturday

Good morning!

I didn’t get here yesterday. I had a couple of school visits and some errands to run. 

The play was excellent. The focus of the story was on Atticus Finch, not Scout like the book. She was an integral part of the play, as a narrator. The original Scout from the film had a role in the play as a cantankerous old lady. Richard Thomas was awesome. He brought such passion and emotion to the stage. DH has never read the book and expressed an interest in it, so I picked up one yesterday. Perfect Valentine’s gift for him. 

I hope maryenne enjoys her girls weekend. 

Joyce, your trips sound wonderful. I am glad you have time to travel now. 

Esther, music has been such an integral part of your life. I love hearing about your experiences. 

Nothing big planned here today. Some things around the house I haven’t gotten around to. Tomorrow we’ll go to the Super Bowl party at the pub. No window decorating until next week when the hearts come down!

Lynn, that's a great Valentine's gift for your DH. I hope he will enjoy reading it. The play sounds great, and I can imagine that Richard Thomas was really good. He's very talented, and in my mind I think he will always be John Boy. I'd love to see him act in person.

Hope Maryenne is having a wonderful time on her girls' trip to Jekyll Island.

Esther, I agree about what a large role music has always played in your life. That is very special. While I love to listen, sadly I am not blessed with any musical talent, but I admire those like you who are.

After rain all day yesterday, sometimes hard rain, we have thunder and rain again today. This morning the Ford dealership sent a van out to replace a part on my car which Ford had recalled. I was surprised they do house calls, as I had expected I'd have to take it into the shop. They did the whole thing here at my house in the garage which even involved raising the car up and taking the front wheels off to replace some part about the brakes. They said they just started this mobile service back in November, but that's certainly convenient. I'll definitely consider that the next time I need to buy a car.

All our Serbia trip plans are in place. Yesterday we booked an Air BnB which looks lovely from the pictures. It's a house owned by Jasmina's friend who lives there half the year and in London the other half. This lady is Serbian, but married a Brit. So now just to wait until September. Meanwhile the Hawaii cruise will be in just a little less than 8 weeks. Lots to look forward to this year.
