Hi everyone, and Happy Thanksgiving!
yesterday Frieda wondered what she could use at her holiday table instead of "what are you grateful for?" I suggested something like "How has your life improved, or gotten better, over the past year?"
So for those of you at all coherent today, and not otherwise distracted by friends, family and pecan pie, here's the question:
How has your life improved, or gotten better, over the past year?
For me, I'd say that my relationship with DH has deepened and my relationship with my adult children has gotten healthier. It's been a good year.
if you are too busy with the holiday to answer, that's ok. Just check in and say hi!

Good morning everybody, and Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone is well today and has positive plans for celebrating the holiday. I've been up since 4AM. The stuffing was made and the turkey has been in the oven for awhile. We're going to eat our dinner for lunch! I'm looking forward to it.
Good things that have happened this year: DS found his job, which I am really happy about. It's so good for him to be working, earning his own money, and following through on responsibilities. I am really proud of him.

Okay, I'm back. Other good things: My hair has gotten long again, and I love it. It does get in the way sometimes, but it feels like I have returned back to aspects of my physical self that were lacking when my hair was shorter.
I'm getting along better with H. DS and I continue to have a good relationship.
All in all, a lot of problems were resolved this year with finances (thank goodness), so I do not have to live in a panic mode about my house.
I am grateful for so many good things in my life!
I'll check in later. Have a peaceful day, Lee

Boker Tov! I am thankful for my children. DS is 6 months and DD is 3 and a half years! I am thankful for my mom, who us paying DD's tuition, so I can stay at home with DS this year. I am working only 1-3 half days a month, just to stay active in the system. I'm thankful DS is eating from the bottle. I'm only nursing twice a day. I will stop nursing in the middle of December, when I am back on my meds. All of which I am thankful for. I'm thankful for the carefree daughter I have. The other day, after naptime, I found her standing on her bed, completely naked! We rolled on the floor laughing. Of course health, family, so thankful for everything and everyone in my life. Even if the experience wasn't perfect, it has made me who I am today. I do need to be checking in more. I am still in lifetime range, weighed in yesterday and got my code. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Tamara

Boker Tov All! Just here to wish you all a happy day as I drink my coffee. We are heading to my DS's house - dinner will be early because the other in-laws can no longer drive after dark. I am looking forward to this!
Like Tamara - I too am grateful for my healthy family - the experience may not have been perfect, but it has made me who I am today!
I'm heading into the kitchen to make a few vegetable sides & some cranberry/strawberry relish.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

And a very, merry Thanksgiving to you all! What has gotten better for me this year is that I've found more strength in myself to manage alone while DH travels so much. I've dealt with tech support when the TV is not working, and the computer repair shop and flat tires.
And I'm very grateful for a increase of opportunities to babysit the grandkids. Business is good!
Let's enjoy our "1 serving of each thing we like" Thanksgiving!
All good things,
Frieda

Good morning everyone, and happy Thanksgiving! My life has gotten better this year because I have been doing a lot of self-examination and learning to accept things. Mainly stuff having to do with getting older, like my own limitations and those of others. Since the company I work for was acquired by another one, all my coworkers and I have had lots of changes and challenges to deal with, and I have focused mainly on helping my colleagues cope and adjust. My boss lost both her father and mother this year, plus she had ridiculous amounts of business trips and horrendous loads of work heaped on her with the company's acquisition, so I have done my best to try to make things easier for her. This is good for me because it takes my focus off myself and directs my attention and energy to someone else who needs it more.
Everyone have a fabulous holiday!

DH and I are already in Malibu. I'm sitting in the living room watching the very mild waves through the all'glass doors that open onto a balcony of sorts. This house is ON the beach (if you saw the movie Sex and the City, think about the house Samantha lived in when she was in LA/Malibu). I love this house. (To be fair, I also love the other one, where my niece and nephews grew up; that's in the country on Point Dume, up the road from here about 20 minutes, maybe a half hour; a completely different part of Malibu.)
We'll go to my niece's around 1-ish, visit with whoever's there, then leave around 4-ish to go to LAX to pick my DS, DDIL and DGS, then back to his cousin's for dinner and more shmoozing. We five will return here to the beach house for the next few days. Their plane leaves from LAX on Monday morning at 6, so we'll probably have to get up around 4, maybe 3:30, to have them at the airport by 5 or so... We're thinking about paying for Uber instead...
