Good morning all!
I hope everyone is having a pleasant and peaceful holiday weekend!
Yesterday we took our big artificial tree out of the closet and put it together on the front porch and put lights on it. It looks beautiful! We haven't put it up for years because of the cats, so this is a good solution. I added a green and red plaid table cloth to the table that sits out there and holds the Christmas cactus, which are almost ready to burst into bloom. We're going into town later and I'll see if I can find some garland to go over the two windows that look out onto the porch from the dining room.
I made a strata -- breakfast casserole -- last night and just took it out of the oven. Feeling holiday-ish!
Have a happy Saturday!

Good morning everyone!
Nothing special for us today--same old "new" routine. My mom just finished her breakfast and is getting dressed. I'll take her over to spend most of the day with my dad, go back and take her lunch and give her medicine (she could get a lunch there, but although my dad says the food is good, she won't eat it), then go back and pick her up to come home. She usually stays from about 10 to 3, which is tiring for her, but at least she is being agreeable about coming home to rest. After we take her and get her settled with my dad this morning, DH and I are going to go out for brunch. That will be a nice treat and break in the routine. Very anxious for my dad to be allowed to come home, and so is he. I think he is doing well, but for the past two days he's seemed especially quiet to me. He's never a big talker, but I'm a bit concerned. I think he's discouraged and maybe a little depressed because he is being kept longer than he was led to expect when the doctor first sent him to rehab. The heart doctor who sent him had told him 1-2 weeks. Now his regular doctor and rehab are saying "maybe" the first week in December. We are supposed to take him back to see his heart doctor on Tuesday, so I'm hoping that will move things along a little faster. They do still have him on the Heparin, however, and that may be what is holding up his dismissal. Maybe heart doctor will take him off that.
Wishing you each a good day and some sunshine.

Hello friends. WW came up to MA for the weekend. We need to buy a new bedroom set and want to get an area rug, too. We are off to shop for those in a bit. Maryenne, your porch sounds delightful! Just the description puts me in a holiday mood! Joyce, enjoy your brunch with DH! I hope your dad continues to progress. It's nice that your mother can spend most of the day with him. Have a great weekend. Lynn

Hi all,
DD and DSIL just left for a "date night" and the DGSs are out side playing for a while. So I thought I would advantage of a couple of minutes so write a post.
DD took me out shopping for the DGSs' last Xmas presents then I helped her wrap their presents as we are going to take them back to IN with us. They are going to drive back toIN on the 23rd so Santa will be stopping by our house this year. It should be a lot of fun. This morning I repaired a sectional cushion for DD and showed DD how to do it in the future. It is good to have been busy today. Mac 'n cheese is on our menu for tonight.
We will head back to IN tomorrow but only drive for about three hours. That will leave us about 6 hours for Monday. That will get us back home in mid afternoon so I can get some laundry done as we will be driving to Indianapolis on Tuesday for my three month checkup with the cancer doctor.
Maryenne, your Christmas tree sounds really pretty. Hope everyone has had a good day!!
Peg
