Even thou I couldn't get the pump working, the water all absorbed in the ground nicely in the arena I'll ride today!! It's kind of nice having a break from DH, although of course I miss him and talk to him on the phone several times a day My DN asked if she could stay with me for a bit - marital problems, so I won't be alone for long. I warned her that we are in construction, she has dd's 11 yo and 3 yo that will be with her. She said she feels like a burden. I'm going to ask her if she will "house sit" while we are gone so she can feel like she's helping. This is the dn that lived with us the last 2 years of her high school. She is a medical assistant and works in dermatology. She's pretty awesome. She wants to go back to school and become an RN (lol like I told her to do in the first place!). Dutchwife, has it warmed up there? Faye; kitchen will be primed tonight and painted on Saturday. The cabinets have been held up! My new stove will be arriving next week. Wave to Beth, Amy, Barb, Cathy and atf!

LIBBY-hope things work out for DN. Glad the water is absorbed and hope you can ride. Sorry about the cabinets. It's always something DUTCH-has any snow melted? BARB-happy walking. Kabbalah was great. Rabbi is amazing.
Making chicken soup. doing laundry etc. Someone at the Temple class asked about my playing at a senior community so that would be nice. Everytime I go downstairs I bring something up from the closet to clear it out for the carpet next week. I think I'm doing ok. Tired but getting things done. HAGD

Hi, all! Faye, glad the buzz was sorted out. But bummer about DH...is he a good patient or not? Hope you enjoyed class! Libby, sorry DN is having issues...I think you've talked about her before. I hope you can help her out, but will having 2 add'l kids in the house make things crazy? Glad the reno is still moving forward, but bummer about the cabinets. Barb, glad you're having...fun? Whoo...78 is SUPER-warm. My parents do the same thing though...when I go over to their house, the heat is super-cranked. Must be an aging thing? Enjoy the pool and helping dad with his phone. Beth, have fun running around today...is it market day? Dutch, glad you can make it through the ice and snow to Ally...she must be having fun Amy, hope you're doing well! Yesterday was another rainy day, with winds in the evening so didn't get in a walk. Drove to the market instead. I guess there was another bit of landslide, at one of the previous locations, one lane closed down. I started thinking last night (a dangerous thing): all the landslides are from the uphill side...what if the downhill side let go...that would be a driving lane. Kind of freaked myself out... Swimming this afternoon and harp lesson tonight. Only 2 left before she goes back to NOLA. Cathy

Back home. I haven't been to a dentist in several years. The one I saw today is a new one. Where does the time go? Anyway they took a full mouth x-ray and said basically my teeth are pretty good considering how long it has been since I've seen a dentist. I did have some calculus buildup especially on my lower teeth so today removing all the calculus was the focus. I return in a month for a cleaning. They were very gentle and my gums are not sore.
Barb-good you can do some walking. Have safe travels home.
Dutch-do you still have snow?
Faye-I bet you make a good chicken soup. Care to share your recipe?
Cathy-a lower landslide would be terrible. Hope it doesn't happen.
Libby-sorry DN is having marital problems but it's good that you can let her stay with you for awhile. Her 'house sitting' sounds like a great idea.
Amy-how are the geese doing? Any lessons on Lukas?

DUTCH-glad snow is mostly gone. BETH-glad you like the new dentist. I just put chicken breasts and carrots and celery and onions and then organic chicken broth in a pot. Bring to boil then simmer. I used to do a whole chicken but we don't eat the dark meat so it was a waste. When I'm super fast and don't want to clean up I just do deboned Chicken breasts so no mess. then I separate out the veggies, the chicken (and freeze some) and the soup and freeze some. I do cook it for hours, usually 4 , mostly because I don't know how long and I just wait till the chicken falls off the bone. So basically, throw it all in a pot and hope for the best. Maybe Barb has an official recipe. We'll have to ask when she's back. I do keep it covered simmering but leave the cover off the last half hour so some evaporates out. CATHY-enjoy the lesson. That water color was amazing. now just need to get the harp back! AMY-how's work? did you ride? How are the geese?
waving to all. HAGE

Good afternoon Friday.
Just came home from the eye dr. She said my dry eye was doing fantastic. However my pressures are going up significantly and she wants to do a laser test on my eyes. She also said she is coding me as glaucoma suspect at this time. My laser test is scheduled March 6th.

Hi All,
Where have I been? I don't know LOL.
My twin DD's birthday is tomorrow. 26 years old. DD2 is on her way now to NYC for the weekend. DD1 and I were planning on going out to dinner with DH and DS too. We were also planning a day trip to Baltimore tomorrow. Well that is all canceled now because she got "beat up" at work. She works with severely autistic children and although they have lots of training sometimes things go wrong. She has been complaining about being short staffed in her classroom so that may have contributed to the situation. Her arm was hurt and she has a big scratch down one side of her face and will probably have a black eye. She had to see an MD about the injuries but they said the eye and vision seem OK. This is the same DD that had a flat tire 2 weeks ago that couldn't be fixed and she had to buy a new one and then she hit a deer and her car is in the shop. So life is coming at her a little hard lately. I need to stop typing now because all of the sudden my husband is feeling sick. I will talk to you all later.

Hi all, So soon after I stopped typing I ended up taking my Husband to the ER. He did not want to go at first but then agreed that he needed to go. I was pretty sure it was not a heart attack so I drove him myself. Turned out to be a kidney stone. After making sure he wasn't having a heart attack or something life threatening they had him wait his turn in the ER waiting room for hours with no pain killers because he had not seen an MD yet. It was almost unbearable to see him suffer for so long. Finally They did a CT scan to confirm the stone and gave him pain killers and he got relief. Fell asleep on the ER bed. He is home taking pain killers as needed and waiting for the stone to pass. Lucky it is small enough that they don't need to do anything about it. I think we got to the ER at about 8pm and didn't leave until about 1 am. Lots of ambulances were coming in taking priority of course so there was nothing they could do. I should have taken him to one of those 24 hour urgent care places it would have been much faster, it was so hard to just watch him suffer and wait. I thought he was suffering with appendicitis so the hospital would have been needed. He will be OK though and that is a great thing, could have been so much worse. My husband is obese so I always worry about a heart attack.
Just got back from a small B-day celebration for DD1. Just the two of us dining out and shopping. We were going to paint pottery but she still has a headache from the incident at work. They did screen her for a concussion and said "no". Her eye does not look too bad but the scrape down her face is pretty nasty. If she keeps the ointment on it she should not scar. I was kind of looking forward to painting a plate but it was her day so we went to all the places she wanted to go. I told her she was saving all her good fortune for when she takes her teaching cert. test for Irish dance in the fall.
I did go and read all of your posts but I am so tired it seems like a long 2 days. I was really pushing myself to take DD1 out but I really felt she deserved a nice day. I hope you all are well. I have my lesson to look forward to tomorrow.

AMY-i am glad DH is ok and hope the stone passes soon but horrified he had to be in pain for so long. So very sorry. Glad you could give DD1 a nice day. I hope DD2 had a good day in NY. Enjoy your lesson. I hope things calm down and get easier, especially for DD1.

Hi all,
DH is doing better. He feels like he lost a day since yesterday he took pain killers and slept in his recliner in front of the TV. DD1 is relaxing at home. She missed her night out with friends for her birthday. I bought her a small ice cream cake (her favorite) and it is in her freezer for when she feels like having it.
Faye- glad you got your harp back. DD2 stayed at the Waldorf and ate brunch at Rue 57 Brasserie Parisienne. She went to Phantom of the Opera on Broadway.
Beth- glad the dry eye is doing better and hope the additional laser test goes well. Sleeping in when it is raining is good, the house feels extra cozy then.
Cathy- the workshop painting you did was so great! Hope it was fun. Be safe with all those landslides! I would probably freak out a little too if I was driving on a potential slide path.
Barb- hope the trip is fabulous.
Libby- You have everything and then some more piling on! I am so glad you had some time to ride both horses they are great for our mental health. The kitchen remodel is stress enough alone with out all the rest of it. You are a blessing to DN. Do you think the cat is stressed with all that is going on in the house and that caused it to pee on the cushion? The house sitting is a good idea. I hope the kitchen gets done soon so you can get some things back in order. Hang in there.
Dutch- Ally is so cute, I am sure it was fun to see her kick up her heels. We are staying above freezing this week. So far winter has been fairly mild but I have a feeling February will remind us what winter can be, it usually does.
I am off to my lesson soon!

Hello all Not sure what dn is doing, after asking if she could stay here, saying she was packing and would be over Saturday, I didn't hear from her. I'm going to leave it alone. I personally think she needs to stay where she is at for her children's sake (school and routines). Went to the RV show with dd, dsil, dgd and dsil's parents yesterday. Was really fun to look at all the new models and designs. Our camper is 10 years old this year and so outdated! dd uses our camper more than we do lol, so I think they are going to buy one. They picked out a really nice one. It's smaller than ours, yet has bunk beds for the kids and an outside grill, sink, prep area. The kitchen and awning have rope led lighting, and all electric stabilizer jacks and awning. Ours is all manual! Maybe when the kitchen is done.........upgrade time Amy, you are so right about the horses and mental health - always tell dh it's cheaper than a therapist! Faye; how is the harp you just got back? Cathy; all the flooding in CA on the news, is your area OK? Barb; are you back? Beth; did you make it on your walk yesterday? Dutchwife; are you still planning a trip? I'm headed back to AZ for two weeks on the 31st. They have been having some bad weather also. It's suppose to clear up by the time I go. Poor dh, it hasn't rained there that bad in 17 years! He was expecting sun :)It's rainy here today, then we are in for some sun the rest of the week riding time:)

Hi all - got back yesterday -landed at 3:10 - was at the barn by 4:10! Penny was happy to see me -shed was a mess but I left it until today- just switched her blanket for a sheet (no one pulled it & it was 50 out -felt so bad for her ) Went out this morning , did a quick short walk on the trails then stripped the shed, scrubbed the water -felt much better -now tonight they are saying more rain/ice/sleet coming in - crazy winter.
Amy -yikes -between DH & DD (didn't know you had twins!) Glad DH is ok -but that must have been scary -isn't he a dentist? like most doctors they tend to under estimate their health issues!? Hope you had a good lesson. Libby -hope you can figure out DN's thing before you go - is the other woman still staying at your place and/or doing the horses when you go? Cathy - LOVED the new watercolor -you are really talented. Faye - I notices a chicken recipe -sounds good -I have some "go-to's" i use all the time -one is a crock pot recipe -with dried apricots, raisins, tomato paste, onions & chicken broth -comes out like a Mediterranean stew -serve over rice or coucous.
trip to Florida was exhausting - my parents while they are living on their own -it's hard -DF complains about DM & DM complains about DF! DF still drives (only day time-he's 97) DM not driving for several reasons -I have a DS & DB who live near & do help out - but it's still alot and they refuse to discuss money with me to see if we can help them -so I just keep asking......
Having friends over to watch the football game (I don't watch but they do ) as the Patriots are playing -we'll bring in pizza and just hang out .
Waving to Dutch & Beth -(I'm still trying to get Page & Judy over!) HAGE --
