Good morning -another 6-7" overnight -the pile I shovel off the deck is now almost reaching the top of the deck floor! They "say" this is pretty much it & by mid week the temps will be in the 40's!

Hi, all! Faye and Barb, stay safe!! Faye, glad you got your strings done. I didn't think you'd had that harp that long...or am I confused? It's amazing what new strings do for the sound Barb, bummer about the show but you sort of expected it. Hopefully last big snow of the season...keeping fingers crossed! Beth, so...are you feeling OK today? You said you were kind of sickie yesterday? Amy, you are really getting some riding in...good for you! I loved those lessons where the teacher called out what jumps to do on the fly...kept your mind working Libby, hope you got in that hike/pool time. I hear ya about home-sickness. It's the double-edged sword of travel: like getting out, but miss being home. Dutch, sounds like a lovely trip! It's coming up soon So yeah, plumber fixed the leak, I have a big hole in the ceiling of the garage so don't really want to park in there until I get new drywall up. Letting everything dry out, will probably talk to insurance today and see if they have someone available to finish the job. Moved things around, threw away some wet boxes so that the plywood could dry as well (there's a plywood "floor" on the rafters to provide some storage above where the car is parked). Not sure about the fluorescent light and the garage door opener. Both were hit with water so will need to see if that has to be replaced as well. Yesterday was just catch-up...marketing, cleaning, washed out cat boxes...the usual boring stuff. But it's not raining!!!! Today will walk to local vet to get cat meds, maybe the store for a couple of things. I bet the pool will be crowded since it isn't raining. Cathy

Beth, I haven't looked at this on my phone yet. Too small to read and type-trust your feeling better Amy, glad you had a great lesson, I used to be fearless riding, now a days, I like trail riding and slower dressage lol Barb; I also hope that's it for your snow! you had had a ton of it! Faye; ice would make me stay in also Cathy; so sorry about the leak! sounds like a mess. Dutch; wave had a nice hike yesterday, lots of fast bikes out there! I went on a lower trail that I haven't been on before. I think I'll stick to the hills lol D nephew and his family came over yesterday afternoon, the 7 yo twins loved the pool and hot tub and the dog! He married one of my dd's high school friends, so I've known her since she was in jr. high. She just finished law school and will be taking boards next month so proud of her. He does boarder patrol (ex-marine) here in AZ. He really wants to move back home to WA and I think with all the new administration he should be able to. I think she likes it here. We had a great time with them. Having a laid back day, it's 10:30 and I'm not dressed yet- I've been reading. Just finished the last of the Outlander series books. It took the author about 24 years to write all the books (she said about 4 years a book). It took me about a year to read them all. I really enjoyed the books, being a nurse and interested in herbal medicine, and my husband being Scottish, the books were right up my alley. Now I need to find another book series-what are people reading these days? Our friends from Zuma are coming up again this afternoon - he has some medical tests in Phoenix tomorrow. Back to the camper tomorrow to pack up-then going home on Wednesday. DH is coming with us and spending a week or so at home. He wants to get the kitchen going again and do taxes and attorney stuff-then he's headed back here. HAGD everyone!

Good heavens!!!! That's just insane! CATHY-are you near Oroville Dam?? 18,000 evacuated as it overflows. I have no sense of geography. Be safe I haven't seen the news yet today, but saw the evacuations yesterday. Truly scary and if it burst - so expensive - $ and emotions/memories. So sad for those folks!

Hi, all! Faye, OK, it's an "older" harp, got it. Glad it all went well. Have fun at the concert tonight, sounds lovely! Beth, glad the gargle helped but sorry about the computer. I never did buy a new one, not much budget for it so will limp along until I can't take it anymore. Barb, glad you got a break and got out of the house! Is there still snow on the ground? Amy, yeah, "fear" was a big reason I got in to horses, oddly enough. Loved the animals, but they are intimidating. Always had a healthy dose of fear, and like Barb, was much happier later on doing dressage and trail (even though horse trials were pretty fun!). Enjoy! Dutch, hi! Oroville is north of Sacramento so a few hours away from me. I do know we camped there a couple of times where we were kids, and my brother had a friend living there for quite a while, but I think he's somewhere else. Saw how they had too much water for the dam to hold and was letting water out, but just can't let out enough to lower the levels AND keep all the homes safe. So very sad... Turned down another lunch offer since it was "over the hill" and I'm not feeling the drive, hear it's taking hours for people to get to work. I have taxes next week, but I'm hoping I can do that via a phone call. The dentist visit, however, cannot be done via phone...not sure how I'm going to handle that. Dr visit today to follow-up on the hypothyroid test results. That's local Cathy

hi all - Cathy - yes -we still have lots of snow -the horses have made some paths in the field but not to the way back -the snow goes over my boots which are knee high! Glad you are not in the path of all the stuff going on out there.
Libby -sounds like you have had a really good visit -DH is staying there ? When will you go back again? Have you heard from your horse-sitter -how are they doing?
Beth -computers- can't live with em....can't live without em! Hope yours gets fixed quickly -sounds like you & DH are on the road to recovery!
today is DH & My 36th anniversary -we are going out for dinner to one of our favorite restaurants in town -we really don't do "gifts" -I got a nice long sleeved tunic shirt & I gave DH a Patriots Superbowl hat & t-shirt.
Waving to Faye, Amy & Dutch - Happy Valentines day - CBL

Happy St. Valentine's Day!
Rode Lukas this morning. He was being a little stubborn at first so the ride went a little longer then planned. I kept at it until he was going well for me. Friend was there so I did some jumping at the end, Lukas and I like that part the best. DH got me a mixed bunch of flowers for St. Valentines day and zero candy which was perfect. I arranged them in 2 vases although I am not that good at arranging flowers they still look pretty.
Hope you all are well,
HAGD Amy

DUTCH-what will the weather be like in Holland when you go? how long are you going for? The weather is the same there as where I live... 40's grey and rain... So I'm well prepared! lol We're going for about 2.5 weeks - NOT long enough!~ Hope you all had a great V-day! DS and I are still pretty sick. Went to the DR, at least it's not the flu, just a bad cold. HAGD!

Hi, all! Looks like all are busy today Dutch, hope you feel well by the time you leave on your trip, which sounds lovely, btw! Barb, yikes...that is a lot of snow! Hope you all stay safe! Happy belated anniversary! Amy, way to stay with it until you get the Lukas you want! Faye, Beth and Libby, hope you're having a good day! Dr doesn't want to start meds since I'm not above the high end of the range. Her take on hypothyroid is that if the result isn't high enough, you make someone HYPERthyoid with meds. We'll retest in April to see if there's any change. I just feel like I have so many symptoms...it's be nice to find something to deal with it all! More storms coming, today or tomorrow. Tax person said we could do everything by phone so making scanned copies of stuff to email to her. I'll worry about the dentist next week. Hope to get to the pool today. Cathy

Went to Bible study this morning. DH and I are both still coughing. His is worse than mine. A lot of people have said that after the flu it goes down into your lungs as bronchitis which we both now have.
I had some steaks in the freezer so I cooked them last night for our VD dinner. Neither one of us wanted to go out.

BETH-hope you and DH feel better. sorry about the bronchitis, but like Dutch, I've heard the same thing. Glad you had stuff in the freezer. I just bought some cooked shrimp and added to shredded veggies. went to the harp/violin concert after and saw some other harp friends there so it was nice. CATHY-glad you can do stuff from home. sorry about the storms. is there anything food wise to help with the hypothyroidism? DUTCH-sorry you and DS are still sick. even if short it sounds like a great vacation. i hope so. AMY-glad you rode and could jump. BARB-hope you had a nice anniversary dinner. LIBBY-did you ride again? hope all is well and that DH liked his Spanish lesson
had Pilates. 30 min went fast. Harp friend finally coming over tonight to practice. Waving to all. HAGD

Hi all - the day got away from me -haircut, waxing, barn, nails.....whew -when did i ever have time to work!?
Amy so glad you are riding & getting somewhere with Lukas -each ride will get you closer to where you want to be!
Dutch & Beth -sorry about the coughs - and yes, I have heard they can hang around for weeks.
Libby -when do you head home? safe travels - but bet you'll be glad to see the ponies!
Cathy - hope you can manage the hypothyrodism well enough to not need meds - I absolutely hate taking anything -the only thing I do take is something for my cholesterol =very rarely even take an ibuprofen
They are predicting another 2-4" tonight (ugh) but there is a light at the end of this awful tunnel (!) by the weekend & most of next week they are saying in the 40's -so hopefully some of this mess will melt -I'm still thinking that a foot or more of snow on the trail is too much for me to take Penny out -since she hasn't been ridden in 3 weeks or more & since they haven't really made too many trails in the pasture -don't think she would be a happy camper with me on her back -and the vacation continues! Maybe by March!
Enjoy the evening -

BARB-sorry about the snow. sounds like a fun beauty day though. have a good time at Outreach AMY-I've done Pilates on and off for year. They have the Reformer, chair , ladder barrel, tower and just got the Cadillac. I've wanted to do the Cadillac for a very very long time so that's why I signed up again. I have osteopenia/porosis so want the resistance training. that's why I do the weights too. hope you get to ride. BETH-hope your coughs go away soon. hopefully the weather will get warmer and that should help. CATHY-I see more rain. so sorry. hope you'll be ok.

Hi, all! Faye, I've never tried pilates. I've done yoga but the hand positions are hard on my wrists. Pilates is good for core, right? Barb, I feel your pain...except I don't have to wait for a snowplow before heading out on the roads. Sounds like a busy day yesterday, get your nails done and then go out to the ponies...I'd trash my nails Beth, I hate that cough. Bronchitis is the worst because it takes it's sweet time going away. Be aware of possible pneumonia...don't want that! Hi to Libby, Dutch and Amy! Yes, more rain...it's wet this morning, and looks like it will continue for a couple of days. Got to the pool yesterday. The sun even came out for a bit so that was nice Cathy
