Good morning tracked passed few days. Down 0.5 (don't laugh but tracked last in April. only 1 pound from my last lowest in and 5 from goal so hope I can get there! --really want to lose about 10 more)
CATHY-funny about the shorts. glad the picture is coming along. Hope you liked the DVD and to really see a change does take about 6 wks and when I did it back in the day I did it about 2-3 times a week. so hang in there! Any more talk on playing at the museum? BETH-is this the week DH starts? good luck and wishing him a good school year if so. Hope the weather is better for walking. how's Coco? AMY-any new projects? are you at the office to help this week? any shows? did you get the sleeves fixed? (sorry for the run of questions, just had coffee LOL) DUTCH-hope all is well. LIBBY-great photos of DS. you are so busy, I don't know how you ever worked away from the house. Alone time is sometimes the best medicine. JULIE-hi.
BARBS photos at her DF's party looks lovely.
Interesting article in NYT magazine about dieting and it was mostly about WW. it was the cover story. More the psychology of dieting which is now a word that is not PC-wellness and being fit is in. and apparently Oprah brought in members. interesting article. well written.

Hi All, Tracking yes.
Treated myself to an ice cream cone from the local home made shop. A summer tradition for us and I hadn't had one all summer. I figured I better just indulge since I was feeling deprived and now that I have had one I am good. I tracked it and it was super yummy!
Lukas is being very much himself which is as it should be. Our next rated show is this coming weekend. I will be wearing my new jacket. I will just tack up the sleeves myself and eventually I will get them professionally done.
Lukas qualified for a big championship show from those "schooling shows" we went to at the local Horse Show association. It was a surprise because I didn't think schooling shows counted I thought it was just for practice. Here is a description from the web page....
"The Colonial Classic Horse Show is a local champions' finals for local exhibitors. Launched in 2014, the Colonial Classic Horse show is a resounding success, drawing more than 420 exhibitors from 20+ local horse show series from six Mid-Atlantic States."
Each Horse Show association can send the top 3 in each division. Lukas and I did modified hunters. I don't know 100% that we are going yet but my trainer seems pretty excited about taking me. It will be held at the same arena as the PA National Horse Show that I have been to many times and thought "I wonder what it would be like to ride here" so now I may get my chance!
Libby- have a fun trip with the horses! I loved the photos from training camp.
Cathy- glad you are getting help with the painting I know you will be glad to get it done. I think your brother really admires your talent, which is sweet. Glad the cat is eating the vitamins.
Faye- those last 10 lbs. can be so hard! I have been so stuck that now I have reduced my desire to lose 10 "new pounds" down to 5 "new pounds". If I can do that I think I will be at goal. I have a dress that zips up but doesn't look good I think that goal weight would do it.
Oh, and in other "random news". DD2 entered a raffle to win a wedding dress because her friends business was selling the tickets and she WON! She did not expect to win, she was just supporting her friends business. We are going to drive down to York to pick it up. She likes it and it has some of the features that she had previously said she liked in a dress. She is not engaged yet but has a serous boyfriend and they have talked about it. It also comes with free alterations but we are hoping they will let her wait until she is actually getting married. The raffle ticket was $5 the full retail value of the dress was listed at $3000. So a pretty good return on "investment" LOL.
I have a bunch of stuff to do today so I better get started.

Hi, all! Faye, I will give it a try, the pilates DVD, I promise I just hate anything related to sit ups, which is probably why I have so many back issues. Nothing on the museum venue...it may have just been a passing comment, who knows. Amy, wow, how fun for DD2! Yeah, nothing like getting a new, $3k wedding dress for 5 bucks! Worst case scenario, she stores it until she's ready and gets the alterations done locally. Huh...I thought schooling shows had no "points" either...how fun to be invited to show! Hi to all the others who follow! My Tuesday's are now messed up; usually swim but have a new meeting at 1pm so there goes that swim. Will either have to move it to Monday (usually busier) or go later in the day on Tuesday. Swim team is at 3, so I suppose I could try after but I think that's when after-work folks start showing up. I might try after 2, but I don't know how early the swim team warms up. Oh well...be careful what you wish for (more work!). Cathy

Hi all! Ally rolled, and rolled and rolled after her baths lol - all the way over a handfull of times! Libby, it's still hazy here also- orange moon last night and weird sky color at sunset! Can't really smell the smoke at least! Hot here still.. upper 80's/low 90s' and climbing again. I'm good, just busy, no complaints! Hi all! Stay cool if you can, dry if needed, ride with the wind!

Hi all,
Tracking yes.
Did a workout class yesterday and was able to do more "real" push ups so I am feeling stronger. It was a combination class, some cardio, some weights some kick boxing. Slept really well last night LOL.
Cathy- I don't like traditional sit ups and crunches either. I Like to do other ab exercises like standing leg lifts etc. I think Pilates has a lot of moves for abs that are not on your back. Hope you can figure out a swim time!
Dutch- Will Ally "hand graze"? I don't know if babies will just do that or do they get "antsy" about it. Yes they love to roll after a bath! LOL.
Faye- Enjoy those quiet days.
I have to go into the office today. Someone called in sick. We have some sort of stomach bug going though the office. I will try super hard not to get it!
Hi to all that follow, have to run!

hi horse lovers, went to drs yesterday, having women problems. Got drugs, doing better. Went to look at a newer wheel chair lift van yesterday about an hour away. It was really nice and a good price. The lady that owns it said she needs to check with another person who said she wanted to buy it two months ago......before she sells it to us. Her husband who used it passed away and I could tell she is grieving a lot, that's such a sad pain. She gave me a big hug when we left We would use that van here and use the older van we have now in Arizona. The barn is 1/2 full of hay and dh wants to buy another 40 bales next month, which will fill it to the brim and I'll barely be able to get the horses out of the stalls! I can still get them out from the paddocks-it's just harder. I was asked to have dgd and my dd's work friends dd over today and tomorrow for "horse" days. They asked at the beginning of summer. It's going to be 88 degrees and my arena is full sun, so I think we will ride this morning and give the horses baths this afternoon Rosie is slowly gaining weight. You can still she her ribs easily, yet she seems to have a little pot belly! I've been backing her up the little hill to try and build muscle, and I bought half alfalfa half orchard grass hay-the alfalfa is like snickers bars to them! Amy; wow about dd's big dress win! My dd likes to brag that her wedding dress was only 800$ on sale. That was before adding 4 inches (she's 5'11") and adding a bunch of pleats, which if I remember correctly was another $500! She forgets that part lol, Still if she loves it the alterations are so worth it And congrats on the tracking and wt loss! You and your horse are doing awesome! wow! Faye: congrats on the tracking and wt loss! I've been doing the DVD every other day, with modifications-hope I can do it w/o the modifications in 6 weeks lol when she says straiten your leg up like an arrow coming from your hip-I laugh every time, mine looks like a bent/broken arrow! I'll keep trying! I'm not very flexible and never have been. Beth; I was looking at pictures on my old phone and saw a picture of the embroidered towels you made for my dgd's - that must have been over 3 years ago, as I have another dgd now and her mom asked for a horsey towel for her also. I'll get on that this fall! Hope things are going well for you! Dutch; glad my horses are dark bays when it comes to rolling! This smoke is suppose to start getting better soon. I don't ever remember having this smoke/haze before, it's weird and I have been coughing in the mornings. Cathy; sorry work is screwing up your exercise schedule! It's hard when your in a good rhythm to change. How are your feet doing with the hiking? Wave to Barb and Julie, the girls will be here soon, so I'd better get ready.

Good morning didn't track by late day yesterday so getting with it today.
LIBBY-hope it works out with the van. I was always flexible so that part I was usually ok, it's the upper body strength I lack. still do . it all gets better though so keep at it. good luck. hope you feel better. AMY-congrats on the pushups, I think I can do 4 real pushups. as I said above, upper body is not my strong point. but I keep at it. At least I can lift the harps! hope you don't get sick. Any decisions on the show? CATHY-hope you got to swim. any more harp lessons or is the teacher away? DUTCH-how often do you give Ally a bath? any more van loading training? JULIE-hope all is well BETH-waving; used the umbrella you did for me and thought of you. I should have done 4 harps! but it's nice and I'll always know it's mine if it's in a community umbrella stand.

Hi, all! Faye, maybe we should get Beth to the next Somerset Harp Festival! She could make a lot of harp embroidery stuff Libby, sorry about the smoke and lady issues, those are the worst! Have fun with dgd and stay cool! I also am very stiff; lower back has never had much flexibility, which was great for riding, not so much for yoga I do like that the pilates instructor says "clench your butt to straighten you back". That was new to me and seemed to work...when I remember to do it! Dutch, yeah, they love to roll. Wasn't there an old saying...they are worth $100 for every roll? Ally sounds like an expensive horse Amy, wow...pushups. Yeah, I've never been very good at those as well. Stay safe at the office What's the next BIG project around the house??!?! Hi to Barb (hopefully cruising), Beth and Julie! Did the pilates DVD and had harp lesson. Will try swimming a bit later today and see how it goes. The pool really hasn't been very busy so maybe it will be OK! Trying to finish painting. It's taking longer since I'm only working on one area, have to wait for it to dry. I could use a blow dryer but it's not worth it, I'll just wait Cathy

Good evening. It's been raining almost non stop the past 2 days. No walking. Today was the first day of school. DH had to pick the students up in the rain. Supposed to rain all week.
Two of the cats sort of tolerate Coco. If they don't run from him then he just sniffs them then leaves the alone. Peekaboo still doesn't like him though.

Good morning-
BETH-interesting about Peekaboo not warming up to coco yet. Was Peekaboo the last cat you had, maybe he doesn't like no longer being the "baby" of the family. Hope DH has a good route . did he get any other new riders other than the few you mentioned? hope it doesn't make the route much longer. Sorry about not walking, hope rest of the week is better. We're supposed to get rain end of week through the weekend. CATHY-did you swim.? any more news on new place that bought company? things changing? good luck finishing the picture. when you are done do you have another project to work on? When again is that eye appt? LIBBY-how are you feeling? hope the meds helped. is the smoke dissipating? AMY-any shows this weekend? do you need to find another winter trainer? i can't remember who left.
waving to Dutch and Julie Barb's photos look fun!

Hi, all! Faye, eye appointment is next Tuesday. Going to take the day off and run other errands "over the hill" since I'll be there. Nothing else to paint on the horizon after brother's painting. Small break, annoying cat needed to go for a walk. Beth, OK, no more road trips...got it Is the rain good or bad? Beyond helping with the garden, I suppose. Hope you get to walk soon. I did get in a swim, but the swim club or team or whatever shows up around 3 so things got a bit busy. I only stayed until 3:05 so still got in 40 minutes. Will probably walk today. Wow...I guess my niece found a job! Not sure what it is yet, proud grandpa sent me a photo from her first day at work Cathy

Hi
Tracking yes.
Fun lesson on Lukas today, he was very lively. Dropped the stick and took off the spurs! Did a lot of roll backs and bending line jumps.
Next show is this Sunday at a rated show so I will riding in my new division for the second time. I hope I feel a little more comfortable this time! I may need some "breakfast wine" lol.
I am going to an "Irish Dance Mom" reunion tonight at a local winery. I haven't seen some of them for 8 years. We spent a lot of years going to competitions and shows with our daughters and then the girls all left for college and that was it.
Will have to get back to you, laundry machine is acting weird. Lucky the new one is due to be delivered on Friday.

Hi again,
Tracking somewhat.
Cathy- 40 min. is a lot of swimming in my book. Do you do all of it in the same stroke?
Beth- Do your cats come in the house or are they strictly barn cats? We definitely have had more rain this summer too. Hope you can get some walking in soon.
Libby- hope you are feeling better. Did the "new" van become available for you to buy? How were the "horse days"?
Faye- Any plans for NYC in the fall?
Barb- looks like you are having a great time!
Dutch- Hi, hope you are enjoying DS and Ally.
We picked up the wedding dress that DD2 won. So pretty, and checks off so many of the boxes of what she said she wanted in a dress it is amazing. It is even the blush or off white color she wanted instead of white. (pale complexion). I just ordered a wedding dress storage bag so we can keep it nice.
Had a nice time catching up with the Irish Dance Moms last evening. Pretty evening to sit out under the trees at the winery too.
Have to get some housework done today. Blah. LOL.

Amy; very exciting about the dress! Glad you had a good ride. nice that you got together with the dance moms! Faye; I'm feeling a little better, thanks, I don't think I'll be doing the unmodified moves on that dvd for a while, yesterday I kept getting stuck on the seal move lol Cathy; wow, do you usually swim for an hour? The water aerobics class I want to start taking is an hour 1/2, it's in 5 1/2 feet of water, I'm 5'8" so I guess I won't really be able to touch. So glad that dn found a job Wave to Beth, Dutch, Julie The horse days were fun and hot and busy! If and when I do it again, I will not do two days in a row! it was 92 degrees by 12:30 - so, we quit early afternoon each day, the horses did great - my dgd rode Rosie on the lunge line, then a little around the arena and then said she was done riding her. She is the you have to ride her type of horse-can't just sit an go for a ride lol! Yes, the lady called us and said the van is ours! Yeah.... We were going to leave to horse camp this morning-now we will be doing all the paperwork instead. Probably pick it up next Monday or Tuesday. I don't think I'll have service at horse camp - so have a great weekend everyone, I plan on it! up in the mountains with just my dh and my horses!

LIBBY-congrats on the van. so does that just set you back a few hours to horse camp or a day? enjoy. and that does sound very hot. I also felt I should bark like a seal when doing that move (or at the very least balance a ball on my nose !) Enjoy horse camp and congrats again on the van AMY-congrats again to DD on the dress. glad you enjoyed your dinner with dance moms. and good luck at the show Sunday BETH-how does DH like the route? any new veggies coming up or is the season over? Julie-?? hope you visit and all is well DUTCH-hope things are going well. CATHY-any more swimming? hiking?
just saw a butterfly go by so heading out to check my butterfly bush. used to get 3 types, this summer seems like just one butterfly hAGD friend coming over later to do duets

Hi, all! Libby, have fun this weekend! Great news about the van, good to have an extra Faye, you sure seem to be an expert at high tea! It's been a while since I've gone, but was always fun. Maybe I just need to find someone to go with! It looks like dinner this Sunday with family so I'll find out more about niece's new job. Amy, glad you had a good time with the dance moms. It's funny how people come together then drift apart; glad you kept up with them. The dress sounds lovely! And I'm sure you'll do wonderfully this weekend...you've been waiting for this challenge! Swimming for 40 minutes is the norm; sometimes I go for 45, but I've found if I swim for an hour (holiday maybe) I get really tired afterwards. Just not built up to that length of time I guess. Lots of others there swim longer, but yak more so I guess it all works out Pool will be closed next week. The gym had a survey and I complained about the dirtiness of the pool...looks like they're going to do something about it. Today will be the last swim for a week. Cathy

Everyone is busy! Did go for a swim...I don't know how the club can say the pool gets "cleaned" every day and someone comes in 3x/week to do extra cleaning. It's filthy. It will be nice to come back to a clean pool! Having dinner tonight with watercolor teacher and another student. Will take brother's painting for a critique Tomorrow is hiking with friends, and Sunday dinner a parents. My old vet hospital is having a seminar on senior cats...kind of right up my alley, huh? Might try to do that before family dinner. Have a good weekend, everyone! Cathy

CATHY-hope the pool gets clean and they can keep it up. when I had to do the pool for PT it was sort of icky. Enjoy dinner tonight and hope you get good feedback; have a good hike and enjoy dinner with your parents. Hope you can make the cat seminar. Yes, we were at Col. Williamsburg and had tea. then went sightseeing and when we came back the harpist was coming out. it was raining so she stood under the covering and we chatted ,. She said I should take up the harp and I laughed but she was serious and said how to look for a teacher. Took me a month to think about it, googled teachers and found one. Still with her about 14 years later. I still have my original email to her you never know. AMY-good luck sunday. are you still going in to the office? hope everyone there is feeling better. DUTCH-when does school start for DS? how's the food and movie situation there? LIBBY-enjoy horse camp. did you finish the paperwork for the van? how's the smoke situation? BETH-have a good weekend. hope it's been cooler. made a hair cut for tomorrow, getting a bit long. will do color when scheduled in 2 wks. Waving to all. Yoga later. HAGD

Hi all - back to reality! The visit & cruise were just so much fun -Cuba is so interesting -we were only there for 1 1/2 days -but we did a 2 hour ride in a 57 Pink Chevy convertible all around the city -there is so much ruin but it is easy to see how beautiful it must have been before the revolution. It was fun spending time w/ DS & DDIL -and my DF's birthday weekend was great as well.
The only negative part was the trip home -a total of 12 hours traveling for a 3.5 plane trip - I have learned something -I will Uber in the future! We had to book a "later" flight home in case we got stuck in travel issues from ship (Miami) to airport (Ft Lauderdale) so we booked the cruise shuttle service as we usually do -there was a 10:30am flight then a 1:30- so we booked the later one -well we were off the ship by 8:30 -shuttle came at 9- at airport by 10- the early flight was moved to 11 - so tried to get on it -it was full so we sat, and sat.....then a 2.5 hr layover in Baltimore that turned into 3.5 (the flight attendant couldn't find the airport? REALLY). Had we Ubered from the ship we could have booked the earlier flight.....so never again will i shuttle!
I went thru & read what everyone has been up to -Amy -congrats on the placement in the championships & good luck in upcoming show -and GREAT about the dress!
Libby - glad Rosie is coming around -
Dutch -Penny will roll before I even leave the pasture!
Speaking of Penny -yesterday Dee sent me a photo of a cut on her hind leg -not bad just long and scraped skin -of course she is touchy about her hinds -so Dee sprayed it with some Scarlet Oil - I will go out in a bit to hose down & Hope there is no swelling etc!
Barn, Groceries and then just chill -I have to pay bills & start re-packing/organizing for the show next weekend -DH has agreed to help me put up the tent as I have to do sides since it's over 2 nights (he did ask if he could bitch & moan - I said yes, but no melt downs!)
Waving to all - HAGD - CBL

Good afternoon. I've been having buffering issues with the laptop. Will try to post better. Took Coco to the groomer yesterday and then we found out her breast biopsy was malignant. I don't know what grade though. Washing clothes today. It's been muggy hot all week with chances of rain everyday. I remember showing in this kind of weather and glad I'm not doing it now. Age does tend to affect me.

Beth- so so sorry to hear about Coco.
Barb- glad you had such a great trip! the cars looked cool in the photo.
Libby-your horses looked to pretty in the video! Hope camp was fun!
Cathy- hope the pool is sparkling and they maintain it better going forward.
Horse Show today, a little nervous
HAGD Amy
Faye- Enjoy yoga and I hope your hair cut is just the way you want it.
Dutch- Hi, and hope all is well.
I am having a Facebook party for Norwex cleaning products. One of those things where I booked it to help my daughter out

Post by amy on Aug 13, 2017 6:35:59 GMT -5
Hi, lost that last post twice so that is why it looks so weird.
what I was going to say is I booked a Norwex party on Facebook to help my daughter out at her party because if she got a booking she got free stuff. I invited the board friends who are on FB but I don't really need you to buy anything, no pressure. I am a woman who likes to do what she says she will do so I went ahead with the party. All that being said if you are interested in the party I have 2 products that I have used and liked. The first is the dryer balls. I have used them for several months and they get better with age. I actually like the way my clothes and towels etc. come out better with the balls then when I used dryer sheets. On the synthetic materials like tech. gym wear you get a little bit of static but not strong and it shakes out.
the other item that I really like is the enviro cloth. She sent me a sample and I went around the house "challenging" it and it actually does work really great. I was super skeptical about it so I was won over. It does make cleaning faster and more chemical free. Our house came with a huge bathroom mirror that has been a struggle to keep looking nice and all I had to do was wipe it down with a damp enviro cloth and it looks perfect, I was amazed. I also tried it on my dirty kitchen sink thinking "this is too dirty for just a cloth and water there is some grease residue" well the stainless steel came out shining and with just water. I am pretty impressed and I have other "no name" cloths that look similar but do not clean like this cloth at all. Well, anyway, after trying it I felt better about inviting people to the party. So if you feel like it you can check out the party on Tuesday night. I guess there will be games or something but please don't buy anything unless you want it because I am at a point in life that I don't need free stuff from Norwex I can buy it. I know these kinds of party's always say "help out the hostess" but really I am fine. It would be nice if people interacted a little with the party just for fun.
Sorry this is long. No time to edit, off to the show!
