I am just starting my day. I'm in California.
Credits so far:
Walked the dog this morning for about 45 minutes. Leaving the house kept me from eating some cookies the DD1 baked. I read my ARC. I had set my fitbit and my phone to an alarm that will remind me to read it, then took a picture of my card. As I am sitting here at the computer, both my phone and my fitbit go off. Hard to disregard both those "interruptions" So, ARC read.
I am still looking for a coach if anybody is interested. I am pretty much counting calories, using Lose It. I cannot stress enough that having a coach really helps! I had one in the Big Tent (I met her there and we emailed each other a couple of times a week) She was helpful keeping me on track. I lost 30 lbs. I'm a pretty good coach too.

Hi there - I've been keeping separate credit lists which I have a nightly reminder to do.
I'm so grateful for this program. It's amazing how much control you regain just in the early stages of a Beck round.
This program, together with the willpower book we're reading in the other thread, is really helping me to stand my ground more and do the harder thing in all regards, not just as to food.

Credits since posting yesterday.
- A fellow Beckster contacted me and I have a coach! - Stayed within calorie budget yesterday. - Met w/my strength trainer this morning and then did cardio. - Had to tell DD that I couldn't drop everything to do her a favor as I was in the middle of my workout. - Exercised through the ensuing self imposed guilt trip. (Just saw that her Aunt came through--thanks Sis) - Read ARC - Bought a journal to record all of my credits - Taking time for myself today with a massage and facial.

I'm not going to post all my credits, but I will say that a big one is that we've created a private group in the My Fitness Pal community for coaching. If you're on MFP and interested, please let me know via PM (or over there via my Lizteach2learn account), but we're already up to 6 people, and I'm going to ask that you be willing to be an active member and participate frequently (and to be "hunted down" if we don't see you posting there daily).

Credits for the day: Got up early and walked the dog, then got some running in on the TM. Sat down and ate my breakfast mindfully. Read my Beck chapters and reread some portions I had highlighted Read my ARC Packed healthy meals and snacks for work declined my coworkers off to have one of her chicken wings and some fries even though my olfactory receptors are inundated with the smell of fried food. Ate my dinner mindfully and even put the fork down several times.

I can see now why so many people said it takes work to break the habit of not sitting while eating. This is definitely something I'm going to have to keep working on. I'm so used to taking a bite while standing, it's really difficult to remember not to do it. But I'll keep working on it. Eating mindfully has been easier.
Credits:
Reading my ARCs twice a day or more Keeping up with reading posts on the thread Sitting at the table to eat - more of the time than I had been Enjoying my food and eating more slowly Getting in plenty of fluids Getting in exercise - but a bit more leisurely due to the heat

Reluctance to ask someone to be my coach was probably my downfall when first bought the book a year ago and it had sat forlornly on my shelf until I dusted it off for BDS.
I've taken the plunge and am now in a group of people who are going to coach each other.

Hey, those are some awesome credits going on in this thread! Especially the ones that include, "it was hard for me but" or "I really didn't want to, but I did it anyway" etc. Those should be like bonus point credits!
So, my biggest credit yesterday was timing myself during breakfast and lunch. I just need to get back to having a feel for what eating slowly feels like. I lasted 31 minutes for breakfast and 26 minutes for lunch. I think I need to time at least one meal a day for awhile until eating slowly comes more naturally. And as expected, I felt much more satisfied ( I used to literally finish my meal before my brain registered that anything had even entered my stomach!) And I also stayed full longer. So, note to myself again, it's worth it to eat slowly.
Other credits: 1. Read ARC X 2 2. Contacted coaches 3. Posted to thread 4. Ate slowly, mindfully for 2 meals. Dinner was kind of a disaster tbh 5. Ate all meals seated 6. Kept up with my Stepbet challenge
Have a great day, all!

I'm not sure what happened, but on Friday I completely forgot about Beck until midafternoon. Oops. So, I walked around while eating lunch, didn't read my ARCs in the morning, etc. I'm going to have to figure out how to keep it front and center. But the rest of Friday and Saturday went well, once I got back on track. I have asked a friend to be my coach; we've done Whole 30 twice together, so she knows my eating habits and proclivities. teach2learn I will also look for your group on MFP; that would be really helpful! I've never shared my food logs with anyone, so I have a little trepidation; food choices and diet have always been a private thing to me. But I'm willing to try.

Hi. It's a nice relaxing Sunday here. Grateful to be home after driving about 2500 miles RT on vacation. After all that I feel like I deserve to be lazier than usual. But I'll continue with the housework in a bit.
A nice addition to my credits has been the focus meditation exercise. I never really meditated before and feel the difference this short exercise makes.
Another nice credit is that I allowed myself a late-night snack and really felt like overeating after that but I stopped myself.

Hi everyone.
Back from long weekend and feeling a bit out of step with all things beck.
So I'm going to just put on my big girl pants and get back down to work and catch up where I left off.
Eating slowly and mindfully is a real challenge - some improvements but it feels a little daunting. I feel like my brain is so wired to shovel food in my mouth quickly. I'm not resisting, because I'm still not even THINKING. Open to any suggestions.
Credits include trying while on vacation. Not perfectly. But still trying. I did at least try to stop eating when I was full and tried to put fork down. Tried.
Ok. Off to read chapters I missed and catch back up
Thanks everyone.

We've been gone all weekend with no or slow internet. This is the point where I quit last time. I really, really resist the coach idea. I don't know why. I don't really have anyone in real life I can do this with. One BF has had WLS, the other is a fitness queen and can't relate. My other friends are large and are fine staying that way. I really can't ask anyone at work. So I'll put this out there.
I need a coach please. I live in the central time zone, I work full time and have a DH and two teenagers. We are out and about a lot for my children's sports. I am awake a lot more than I want to be and email and text are fine.
Any takers??

I'm in mountain zone so not too much of a time difference. I work full time too, have a DH but no kids yet. Hoping to lose some weight before I get pregnant. Email and text are good for me too.
