Good morning, everyone! There are quite a few knitters and crocheters on the GDT, so we have decided to create an ongoing thread to allow us to discuss and share our work. We have posters of all abilities, so whether you're just starting out like me, or you've been at it for years, feel free to jump in! I'm currently working on two projects, a dishcloth for myself, and a baby blanket for my cousin's daughter. After the last thread, I took everyone's advice and invested in some self-striping cotton yarn for the dishcloth; plus, this one will actually be big enough to use. It's almost finished, and I'm pretty excited. Photo below: The baby blanket follows the same basic pattern, but I'm using bigger needles and bulky yarn and doing blocks of color instead of stripes. The edges will be pink and the middle ivory. I'll post a photo of it when I'm a bit further along.

Thanks for starting this, clcountry. This is hopefully going to spur me on to doing 2 things: Sorting out my crafts basket. Learning how to post pictures on here.

Ooh, that's really pretty yarn clcountry. I'm waiting on the couch with @cyn because I have no idea how to post pictures in threads. Anyone want to give me instructions please? Or tell me how to find instructions?

I love the colors, clcountry, it looks great!
Thanks for starting this. I'm not the best at checking out the board every day, but I'm excited to have a place to talk about knitting. I'm currently working on a light-weight pullover sweater for myself. I should have finished it a month ago, but lately I've been trying to go to the gym after work and end up feeling too tired to work on my knitting when I'm finally settled at home.

I made it over & bookmarked (thanks, Cyn!). To post pictures, use imgur or another photo hosting service, and paste in the link. You can't simply attach a photo to a post.

I just can't seem to post from my phone...I'll figure it out eventually. ashtangi , there is a Support & How To thread in the About The Board area if you go to General and scroll down. I do think there are some more specific instructions within that thread. Or, just look at cl's link. LOL.

I'm working on two different pairs of socks right now, and also a shawl because I need to have multiple projects going at once

I'm getting close to the halfway point on this sweater. I started this shawl over the weekend so I'll have a somewhat mindless project. And I just took a class a couple of weeks ago to make this. I'm still practicing the technique.

I'm the same way, ashtangi. I'm too impatient to only work on one long project at a time. I expect I'll make lots and lots of dishcloths while I work on more complicated things. Also, I've only been knitting again for a couple of weeks and already I know that the memes "joking" about people with too much yarn aren't really jokes at all. I have 15 skeins. Oops.

Ok, let's see if this works. I'm working on the second half of this sock here. It's super cozy.

pepper do you have the name of that second scarf? It's awesome. I'm also working on a second version of this scarf, but with a yellow to red to magenta colorway.

The black-and-oatmeal colored one is Swedish Lines. It's on Ravelry and Craftsy.
The blue and purple one is a pattern written by the class instructor. If you google "Entrelac Cowl" you'll find many versions of it. This one has you cast on 100, then the entrelac sections are 10 stitches wide. The yarn is Noro Silk Garden.

ashtangi , I love those colors! Do you remember the yarn, color and pattern names? Is anyone here on Ravelry? I'm PepperATx. I used to have a zillion projects loaded on my Ravelry profile, but apparently I deleted it or just can't remember my old user name because it's all gone. Only these three projects are there now.

I'm on Ravelry. Same username. I only have my first little dishcloth on there right now, though.
ETA: I haven't really figured out Ravelry yet, I think. I don't really get it, although the pictures are cool and give me something to aspire to.

I am excited to be part of this thread. I have had plenty of knitting time lately due to the many days I am spending at the "spa." (The hospital. My friend refers to this as my "spa vacation." We share a morbid sense of humor.) Thanks for starting this, CLC! I love your work so far!
I am finishing up a baby blanket for my nephew, a doll sleeping bag for my niece, and I just ordered new yarn for chemo caps for my cousin's daughter. I don't do much in cotton, so I needed that for the caps. I will also cast on a blanket for her once I get home. It will give her something soft and cozy for bad days, I hope.
I love seeing the stuff everyone else creates. I am ZippyWT on Ravelry for anyone who wants to "friend" me there. I only have a phone here, which makes it hard to do, but once I am home it will be easier.

clcountry, I mostly use Ravelry to drive myself crazy trying to find my next project. :-) Also, if I'm considering a specific project, I check Ravelry for it to see if anyone has found any problems with the instructions.

Thanks pepper, the pattern is Ishbel by Ysolde Teague. The yarn is Twisted Fiber Art Arial in the Carousel colorway. www.twistedfiberart.com/Evolutions_s/58.htmclcountry, Ravelry is definitely overwhelming. There are SO MANY patterns that it's hard to search sometimes. Like Pepper, I like to view the project pages to see what other knitters have done. You can also see all the patterns that were done in a specific yarn, which is nice if you want ideas or want to see how a certain color looks.
