Today's strategy is one that takes less than a minute per day - step on the scale daily. This helps make the metal box less powerful, keeps you accountable, and makes any given unexpected change less powerful. The deal is to do it when you get up and only once. I get a check for it today. And here's my card for Tuesday "Meetings are not made better by adding calories." fitin14, pirouette, sweetmarsh52, gemellus, Cyn, Emily.Postal, beherenow, ontosomething, charlotte21, phoenix, digplantweed, lindabee, lumberjack55, wendroz, corgi, mary~m, peacemama, bunzoni, tina1966mi, mollyrox, melbre, Emily.Postal, irisinnia, gracie,

I WI daily so I can see the fluctuations.
This morning the scale has me below my lowest of 2019, so I am really happy.

This one is pretty easy for me.
Yesterday Read my ARCs Ate seated. Resisted my normal late night snacking.

Ah, the scale. By far my most dysfunctional relationship. But thanks to this program I get on the scale daily even if I don't want to. At some point I know it will become reflex and I will not attach so much meaning to the number. Just another datapoint.
It does help that I ordered a new, simpler scale that doesn't fluctuate or show an error message. This helped me get rid of the impulse to keep rechecking my weight. One and done.

This is one recommendation that surprises me. I had always heard just weigh yourself once a week. I’m willing to try it though. I think I can dust off the happy scale app and get tracking so that I can accomplish this and see trends.

I'm still working on my responses to the number I see on the scale, but daily weigh ins are a habit.

I am kind of afraid of daily weigh in as the scale number really causes mind games for me. I am willing to give it a try and see if I can overcome this but if I start to feel like a failure I will go back to once a week.

I am willing to give it a try and see if I can overcome this but if I start to feel like a failure I will go back to once a week. This is me. It frustrates me no end that my (somewhat) scientifically trained, logical brain refuses to act rationally regarding my weight. So much stigma and angst ingrained. I am learning to let it go. I am also more of the "once a week" weight check but I will try this for the rest of the year.

When I joined WW in 2008 I didn't own a scale. I lost 20 lbs in 7 months and only weighed in at the meetings. After I hit maintenance I bought one because it was recommended to weigh daily. I usually weighed a few times a week. When I read DTS for the first time last spring I began weighing daily most of the time. It has helped desensitize me to the daily fluctuations. I definitely can't predict what number is going to appear.

I am usually a daily weigher. It helps me stay accountable
However, I didn't weigh myself today and I have been eating like a starving person all day long. Hmmm...

I too have struggled with weighing myself daily. I only weigh myself three to four times a week.
I know there are times that I don’t want to step on the scale because I think I have gained but that doesn’t always hold true.
I do think that if I develop daily weighing as a habit, that even if I gained I will catch it sooner and be able to stop the backslide sooner.
I will start tomorrow, weighing myself every day. I don’t need to track it because I have a Bluetooth scale that syncs with it’s own app and records it there.
Credits from today include: - on track day - didn’t eat at the end of the day just because I had points. Was headed upstairs to start getting ready for the end of the day and didn’t feel hungry, so why did I need to eat? - exercised - checked in here - coach check in - preplanned and prepared breakfast and lunch for tomorrow - didn’t try the peanut brittle that I made for a birthday gift because I know how addictive that stuff can be - are seated and mostly mindful
Beck on!

Since I started Noom last July, I have been weighing daily unless away from home in a place with no scale. Last summer when we rented a VRBO at the beach, I took our scale with me.
This practice has helped me to not freak out. I see on a regular basis the effects of sodium, hydration, wine, whatever. It helps me to remember that a pound of "real" body weight requires 3500 calories. So if I go off plan on a 4-day trip (hello, last week) and I'm up 8 pounds, I know it's mostly sodium, wine, whatever and will be soon gone (and it is).
