Fresh month have anyone popping back in? Hunger is the focus at No BS this month so perhaps we could work it here too? You could focus on the desire/craving/hunger distinction. Or the categorizing of what you are thinking before you eat. Or on the right fullness levels. Or making sure you know it is not an emergency. Ooh, hunger is a good one for me. I’ve begun exercising much more, and find myself really, truly hungry. I am working on recognizing real hunger and giving my body what it needs in those moments.

One of the things that has really helped me distinguish these is eating enough to be hungry 30-60 mins before the next meal - this is what Georgie Fear recommends in her book Lean Habits. When I snack at night, I am not always hungry before lunch the next day - I don't eat breakfast. But when I don't, I am usually hungry by 10:30-11 am. Right now it is 10:30 and I am definitely hungry.
Snacking at night is definitely a craving. There are days, like yesterday, when I was hungry again shortly after dinner. Dinner wasn't enough, I guess, with the level of exercise I'm doing now. So I added a bit more food and then I was no longer hungry. But most other days, I am quite satisfied and yet I feel like snacking. That is definitely just a craving.
I have to be careful to eat foods that satisfy me both in quantity (filling the stomach) and chew satisfaction in order not to feel hungry before the next meal. If I eat something that is high calorie, and therefore in smaller quantities, it doesn't work. Drinking a high calorie beverage like a smoothie doesn't work either.

Had dinner out. Wasn't a hog-fest, but more calories than I am accustomed to consuming. Definitely worth every bite.

Not a good night. I'm trying to get something done in India which means I have to call them during their business hours which are late night for me. I tried in the early morning, but that is their evening and they are busy with in-person customers at the time. Ended up staying up and snacking to stay awake till midnight when I finally got them on the phone via WhatsApp.
Since I had a headache in the pm, I took a nap instead of exercising

I hear you! I'm going on a 15 day cruise in a month. I have not cruised since 2008, all traveling has been to Maui since then, which I can pack for on autopilot. This cruise has 3 formal nights, going to round trip to Hawaii from San Francisco. I'm breaking out the suitcases today and will start getting organized. The cat will be depressed when he sees the suitcases. Thursday credits: Weighed - up 0.4 lb. You have a great time on your cruise! My trip is complicated by a) us flying to LA first and staying with SO's nephew for two nights so that we can fly out with our daughter to India, b) spending only 3 days at each end with family so laundry is limited, and c) sightseeing in India for 6 days where we will need better shoes and possibly slightly warmer clothes due to altitude.
Anyway, I think I'm a bit more organized now than I was yesterday!
