Good Morning -Faye- glad you had fun at reunion-it's fun to reconnect with "old" friends! I found after ours a lot of us have staying in contact thru FB! Do you try to practice every day? Have fun.
Show yesterday was ok - down almost 1/2 from last year - but that was exceptionally good -and I've had worse shows than yesterday -but will have to re-think doing it again -there were less vendors -more "christmasy" crafts than arts - (doll sweaters, pots holders, soaps etc) oh well - next one in 2 weeks - DH can help me set up on Sat evening then a friend will go with me on Sunday.
One more day and our phone/doorbell will stop ringing!
Nice day today -planning to ride later w/ Dee & Skip -bank, groceries & post office first
Waving to the gang - ride if you can - HAGD - CBL

Hi horse lovers, I'm finally feeling like I'm on the mend. This respiratory infection took me down! I canceled my visit to the prison today, two new moms and babies that don't need to be exposed to my virus!! I was in bed most of last week - I'll stay at home and work from here a few hours. We turned in the keys to the Eatonville house and the people moved in this weekend. We are supposed to get a check today Everything worked out well, the young couple loves the house - why wouldn't they? its a great place!! I'm going to attempt to ride today Lucy has been on bute-less for about a week and she doesn't look lame anymore, she had pulled something in her shoulder when she was out whooping it up on the wet grass. Rosie is starting to look like she's gaining some weight! lol if we all had that problem! Amy; congrats on the wt loss! Wave to Cathy, Faye, Barb, Beth, Dutchwife, and atf

Good morning. Had a nice walk this morning. It was daylight and I could see! No walking in the dark for a little while.
Barb-you never know about a show one year from another. I never made holiday themed stuff unless it was a special order. I didn't want to be stuck with something I couldn't sell for the rest of the year.
Libby-I was wondering why you didn't post much. Now I understand. I don't like to post when I don't feel well either. Glad the house closed and Yay for a check.
Faye-glad you had a great time at the reunion. Have fun practicing.
Amy-riding Lukas today?
Dutch-playing around with Ally?
Cathy-how was your weekend?

Morning folks! Waves to all!
Libby, Prison? Volunteer work or your job? Not every day you meet someone who "goes to prison"!
Decent weather weekend here. Played with Ally a little - should have more. Found a 5" tree branch fell on the fence, so fixed that up. She can't get out, pasture is double fenced. Was warm enough to leave the blanket off of the day yesterday - watched her kick up her heels a bit. lol That was fun.
Registration papers said about 6 weeks to process - so I suspect it will be a xmas present to myself! lol
Found a cute 5yr OTTB gelding yesterday - for sale. Olympia, so about a 3ish hr drive. That part aside, she was honest enough to mention trailering issues and lost trust for that. Not sure I want to address (deal? cope?) with that. Told the seller thank you and I needed to really think about that.
HAGD all!

Hi, all! Faye, so glad you had fun at your reunion! Sounds like a fun class Dutch, you and horses...me and cars. Sure wish I could have 4 or 5 cars, and drive depending on mood. But can only afford one Beth, nice that you've been getting in your walks even with knee issues. Yeah, it's pretty bright in the am now. Barb, wow...Penny is such a trooper! No reaction to deer, that is awesome! Amy, so are you going to teach Lukas to move from a trot to a canter? It seems awkward to go from trot to walk to canter. I used to do 3'6", since that was ami-owner out here. I did 4' once just as a test to see if the horse could do it...totally different feeling! Libby, so sorry you had a crappy week but glad the house closed OK. Yeah, the babies don't need a cold so nice of you to stay home (like you had to twist an arm or something!). The care facilities tour was interesting (we didn't get to see the high-end one ). One was full medical care, one was a "nursing home" and depressing, one was a non-medical "apartment" where they include meals and housekeeping, laundry all in one rent check. Something to think about at any rate. Absolutely exhausted yesterday. I don't deal well with the time change and the cat woke me up 3 or 4 times. So just did the shopping and some painting and goofed off. Today is swimming. Cathy

Dutch-are your parents from the Netherlands? You said in your General Discussion post you had family there. I'm assuming your parents were born there.

squiggle37 - you are quiet the investigator! You are correct. My folks immigrated here in 1961, became citizens in 1974. I'm 1st generation. Since I was 2yr old.. I've been back there more times than I can count. So what you read... I've done myself, but we're all different. My parents remaining siblings still live there, and countless cousins. I can't wait to see them again ... kinda my 2nd home.

HI- Faye - every day - that's impressive! Beth- (and others) I don't make too many "holiday themed" pieces- up until 2 years ago never did tree ornaments - since I don't celebrate but realized they use up scrap glass, are fairly easy & I can make several in a batch - so I make about 2 dozen - sell them for $6-8 each depending on the glass etc. I also do menorahs & a few plates with Star of David on them -the plates can sell year round -the menorah's are pretty seasonal! Dutch - envious of you (and others ) who have their horses at home & can have multiples! I would if I could! But when you are boarding, even semi-rough - it's not really realistic.
So we had some excitement this afternoon - DH had Tundra out on the trail for a walk -comes home around 2:30 - she "found" a porcupine! She had quills on her nose & front paw - not awful but needing vet care. Our vet took her right away -she had to be tranqued -but there were so few & we got to them so quickly they just needed one shot of antibiotic & nothing else. She is resting and doing fine. It was funny - she didn't whimper, cry or anything! That was an expensive trail walk!
Our phones have not stopped ringing today -ONE MORE DAY! Everyone get out and vote. TTFN

Hi all
Faye, glad you had fun at your reunion!
Barb-hope the next show is better sales for you. I like seeing the work you post on FB, very nice! I still love the plate I bought from you. It has turned into a nice reminder or Rueben in my mind when I see it because the horse has chestnut colors.
Libby, it is good that you think they are a nice young couple that bought your house. You can imagine all the lovely memories they will create there. Much better then thinking you sold to jerks.
Beth, how many other boards do you post on. This is the only one I keep up with. On the old board I tried to join in on clutter busters but it was too much to keep up with.
Cathy, I know what you mean with some nursing homes being depressing. When my DDs were younger we used to go to about 6 or 7 on St. Patrick's Day and do Irish Dance presentations. The state run home in the city was the saddest and smelled bad when you walked in the door. The residents always enjoyed the show a lot though. The expensive one with little apartments was the nicest.
Dutch-good luck with your horse search. It can seem like you will never find the right one and then one day you will.
I talked to my trainer and we will work on trot to canter transitions but I can start to show without having that down. 90% of the time in the flat class the judge asks for the canter from the walk. I have a show opportunity on Dec. 11th. I would say the two things that I worry about is picking up the canter and I kind of wonder if he will go into "jumper" mode because he is at a show and try to race around the jumps. It will be interesting. I am going to have the younger training rider school him at the show before I ride so I can see how he goes. I don't know which division I will do yet. We will see how my lessons go between now and then.
HAGN Amy

Going to go vote today! One thing I have thanked God for while in church is that I was born in the United States of America. So no matter who wins I am still very happy to be living in this great country. USA! Rode Lukas after work last night. I was tired when I left work but I always perk back up when I get to the barn. Lukas was full of energy My stall plate has been ordered. I went with "Lukas" for the sign. I need to do my registration this morning with USEF for him and he will match his papers with "Lukas Statement" which is kind of unusual but I bet won't be a duplicate! Beth I hope you get some of the rain you are needing. HAGD! Amy

Good morning Tuesday already voted at 6:30 AM and where my DH and I are usually no. 1 and 2 we had to wait for 2 cars to pull out of the parking lot to get in! Hope that's a good sign for the day.
CATHY- like Amy I play at a lot of the senior residences and some are sad and some beautiful. BARB-hope Tundra feels better. Must have hurt so close to her nose.
waving to all. heading out to work out soon then a class at the Temple on Magic --very curious. Show Sunday so will practice harp. get out there and VOTE HAGD

Good thing my dh knows me well! Now that the house sold we are remodeling our old 70's kitchen. We had a plan he had been working on for a while (he used to sell kitchen cabinets and knows how to design them). I told him I just wasn't excited about it - we changed a bunch of things on it yesterday, including walls down and doors moved and a couple of windows and WOW I love it! I hope we can stay on budget, it's kind of like those home renovation TV shows! I watched way too many of them last week while I was sick in bed lol Looks like the demolition might start in December. Exciting! I've waited about 20 years for this

Hi, all! Faye, I guess that's one nice thing about using an absentee ballot; you don't have to fuss with traffic or lines. I used to walk to my old voting place when I was in San Jose. Miss that Libby, the care facility tours were just for information. My financial analyst has been bugging me about it so I decided to go. A friend of mine is also her client so we got a chance to catch up Barb, saw Tundra's pictures...it looks so painful, but glad she is doing well. Sorry about the extra trip this morning but don't want any infections! Beth, how is your knee? I know you're walking less; has the cortisone continued to help? Amy, isn't it interesting how we perk up when we get away from work? Is that telling us something about our chosen job? Dutch, how interesting about your family (Beth, should you have been a PI?). One of my neighbors is Irish and she LOVES going home to visit and wants to move back when all the kids are grown and out of school. Got in my swim yesterday. Ended up working late because client wanted something done, which is fine, got in my swim so didn't care Watercolor class today...only 2 left Cathy

Libby - how exciting about your kitchen - one of my fav TV shows is "flip or flop" on HGTV - they do some fantabulous kitchens. They were able to pull the last quill out without tranq - so she is all set now. Cathy - what are you painting this time? Please post photos -love your stuff! Had a lovely ride - in a t-shirt -it is mid 60's here -the line to vote was about 10 minutes to get in the building then another 5 to get to a machine -easy peasy! now we wait!

Hey all! Well, I saw my registration check was cashed... so I know that part has cleared! lol I also know from calling them (had to make sure I filled out paperwork properly) that if there were any issues they usually just call people. I haven't received a call that I know of. Fingers crossed! Aww, my girl is growing up!

I voted! I was ballot number 459. This was in a rural precinct at 10:30 this morning. The poll workers said they were expecting a heavy turnout after 3:30pm.
Amy-I post to a number of boards on this proboards forum.
Libby-I remember my kitchen renovation about 3-4 years ago.
Barb-glad the vet didn't have to tranq Tundra a second time.
Dutch-at least you know Ally's papers are in process.
Cathy-glad you got a swim in.
Faye-magic? As in mysticism or tricks?
My knee is mostly okay but will still give me twinges if I turn it certain ways. Steps are still a slight challenge. I go up with the good knee first and go down with the bad knee first. Walking is okay if I don't walk fast.

Good morning Wednesday
I'm so glad that this Horse Lovers thread is not vocal about politics. I would rather talk about horses any day than politics. That being said... I'm getting ready for Bible Study. BBL
