Allison, I absolutely love the rugs! They just make it look so warm and comfy. I too considered you may want to wait to see if the housing market settles down a bit but then so would the value of yours I guess. It's a no win situation but being where you want to be and in a house that fits all your needs would be wonderful. I like looking at them on-line but wouldn't want to think of the moving part! Aaackk!
Peg, oh my and with a 5 hour drive ahead of them yet? Good golly! We can only hope DBIL doesn't get it.
Well, I got my RSV and they now say it may be a one and done - like for the rest of your life, but they aren't sure yet. I keep looking at kitchen paint colors and just keep getting more confused. I only know I want this one gone! DH is off to help DTBIL get more trees cleaned out and I'm headed out to use the trimmer to clean up what DH didn't do when he mowed last week. I'll see what energy I have left after that and before I have to pick up DGD. At least it did warm up some so she will be okay for the rest of her day. Sheets are in the dryer but I've already re-made the bed so that's done.

It’s overcast here today and cool outside. We are having the lady come to measure for the carpet tomorrow. So we’ve been madly trying to pick things up in our disastrous upstairs! One room has two bedrooms worth of furniture in it…my room had all the linen closet stuff in it did get that put back..I got rid of so many linens I never use!
Betty dgd is growing up so quickly had to believe! Cleaned the bathroom and everything what a gem! Oh your oatmeal bread sounds good! Is it just a recipe on line or a special one?
Peg wow lots of health problems with DTBIL on top of it all! Your right pizza doesn’t help anyone with health problems. Most the kids I grew up with have health issues….some chemical on the farms around here I’m sure.
Caryn anyone come in your house for dh to hug? Lol did he hug the rug people? Lol

Went to Home Depot and found our flowers. Trying to keep DH and myself under control. I paid for a bunch of stuff and took it to the car. Thought he was there waiting for me. He went back and finally found our orange impatiens unbeknownst to me. I called his phone and of course he didn't answer. Figured if he fell somewhere I would see an ambulance. Finally came to the car 9 minutes later wondering where I was. Did he listen to me when I said I'd meet him at the car. Torn between worried, irritated and angry. Enjoy those DHs while they are young. He is hammering something in the garage. Doesn't s I und like planting flowers.
Flunked wordle again. Waffle with 3 to spare and connections with the first 2 correct and couldn't get the last 2.
Gotta go be constructive.

Good afternoon. I am glad you all like the rugs - we are very happy. I found out Ruggable has a club to earn points & the customer service gal added all the points from my 5 rugs purchased (three in FL and the two in PA). I have a $186 worth of points I can redeem! DH is thinking we should get a runner for the area between the LR & DR.
Chores completed: DH & I did the LR & DR windows inside and out. Outside required two different ladders. We also put baking soda & vinegar down the drain pipe for the washing machine. We hope it prevents water splashing out from the top of the pipe. I organized some stuff for trash tomorrow (my goal is to put out one bag each week). Once I finished my chores I walked 4 miles.

I totally bombed connections today. Saw all the ‘connections’ to something, but kept guessing wrong. So …. There’s always tomorrow.
Our program about Huck Finn was really good. We enjoy this presenter, she has been at our library at least once and sometimes twice a year. She reminds us that we need to remember the time period of when things are written and not view them through our current lens.
Lots of planters out in the fields, we have had a beautiful day, DH and I sat on the deck when I got home from bookclub.

Traveling is fun, but it's nice to be home.
Unpacked, laundry started, stopped at TJ's on the way home, so shopping is also done. Need to go get the junque out of our mail box. How many cruise brochures this week? One week we received 5 mailings from the same company. I love Viking Cruises, but they need to stop printing junque mail. Cunard too.
As I said, we had a marvelous time. We enjoyed visiting her father's "farm" - he has about a dozen chickens, 40 fruit trees, a veggie garden, a pasture, a shooting range, 2 wine caves along with the 1911 farmhouse and a new garage. He is 100% self sustaining, with 2 water towers (water is provided by a natural spring on the property), 100% solar electricity. Heat is by a fireplace & wood stove. Lots of old growth oaks, incense cedars and coastal redwood trees too. He has built most of this himself, with help from day laborers. Very impressive. It's his happy place, as for his wife...she'll go out there, but it's not so much her thing! The farm sits in a ravine in the foothills, the house is on a flat area, but there are almost no other flat areas on the property. It's 100 acres of which he has fenced off and cleared about 2. He needs to clear more undergrowth for fire protection.
Allison - smart to take your time to move. You've got a lot to do with DH's parent's home. Sounds like a nice trip down to see your mom for Mother's Day and her birthday.
RV - I hear you loud and clear on older DH's. I can see that R is slowing down a lot, he can't walk as much as he used to, which limits what we can do traveling. Last summer we had to do the 'easiest' walking tours with Viking, the year before we did the normal ones. I would have loved to have climbed up the hills at the farm to see the view, but he couldn't do it so we all passed. I've tried to get him to walk a bit with me daily, but just grumbles and clearly does not want to.
Luv - wow a grandson, what fun to look forward to, how's your DMom doing?
Caryn - yes, we are so fortunate that the entire 'future inlaw' family is so warm and welcoming. Her 22 year old sister apparently took DD's phone during the bachelorette party and went through her "Hinge" app and gave advice on who DD should respond to. DD is a bit shy and needs the encouragement. A lot of girls would just sort of let DD be and not get involved like that. I was wondering how DD would fare on the bachelorette trip since it was DFDIL, her sister and her friends, who all knew each other and are 4-6 years younger than DD. They just brought her into their circle and made her feel welcome. DFDIL is now trying to help DD feel more confident about doing more first dates.
Peg - all my leftovers got left with the kids...so even though I cooked all last week, I have to cook more tonight. DH did say he'll do the rice. I'll bake some chicken thighs. easy peasy. Ordinarily I'd suggest going out tonight, but we can't eat in restaurants during Passover.
Betty - DGD sure is growing up. It seems to happen so fast. I'm sure it's satisfying to see her take on more responsibility
Jeanne - hope all is well with you
Sharon & Khalua - you too!

I just lost a post! That never happens to me! Well I can't say that any longer!
Allison, nice you have money toward another rug. I may look into some of those for the kitchen area and at the entry door. Then I can always move on to the dining area possibly. I'm glad you have no rush to move so take your time and do what you need to do first along with dealing with DMIL/DFIL's house. I have to say, it will be fun looking at other places though!
Gina, what a fun time you had and oh my on the little "farmette"! How nice DD will have someone else helping her navigate the possibilities of dating. I hope she gets some really good encouragement and advice.
Peg, ahhh so nice to sit out with DH after your day away. I hope you enjoyed a glass of GJ!
DGD was a peach. We were going to make a poster together but her parents arrived too soon. She'd asked to see DMIL's old laptop so I got it out. It weighs nearly as much as she does and about the size of her body according to her! It's certainly made differently than those today! I'm charging it up so she can check it out tomorrow. She ate, ate, and ate some more after school. Then she had corned beef hash as part of her dinner later and wanted to make me a sandwich so she did. I requested peanut butter and dill pickle. It was so good and made me so happy so she was very pleased. Then she proceeded to wash up any dishes, wipe down the counters and stove and tidy things up here and there. What a special gift she is and to think DSIL's DM is missing out on enjoying all that joy!
Well, DH just came down from a shower so I'd best go heat his dinner for him. Leftover ravioli I believe!

Hi! Missed posting today.
Not sure why time got away, but it was a good day. Did our walks, shopped for food, and did some gardening. Turns out Scruffy doesn’t like the spot I picked for the hosta and pulled one out! Needed to repair that and now can’t let him out without supervision.
Peg - hope everyone at DBILs are doing better.
Betty - wonderful hearing about DGD! Now, I did the same cleaning this morning, but no one made a fuss! lol!
Gina - sounds like a lot of fun! So good that the two families get along! And that DFDIL and her friends were so welcoming of DD!
Caryn - hope you got to recharge today.
Nancy - oh boy! We’re not that far off from you and E!
Ok now I’m forgetting the other posts. Will see you all mañana!
Nighty night!

Allison, thank you! I may go take a look at the options today.
J, LOL, DH wasn't impressed by your cleaning? Men! Sorry about the hosta, bad doggy!
RV, I'm tired all the time lately just up until bedtime now and then, then I could stay awake for hours! I must have been born at night?
I was awake at 3, again off and on until 5:20, then overslept! DH woke at 6:20 so we flew out of bed again. I'll take DGD to school, get DH off to the fields after I give him a quick breakfast, then take a nap! I may run to Janesville to return those items to Amazon at the UPS store (someone mentioned Kohl's does the returns also but they are basically down the road and across the street from the UPS store so I suspect they no longer do it). I'm picking up paint for the kitchen as well since we've finally agreed on a color/colors then will finish mowing the west side of the house since it isn't that bad but if I don't do it and it rains a couple of days, it may be too long so will just do it.
DH will be planting a couple of smaller fields across from DTBIL's place that are always more wet so if they can get in there now before the rain comes this weekend, that will be good. Hope all goes well and nothing breaks down!
Can't wait for that nap! Oh, I'm just thinking, wonder if this sleepiness is from the RSV injection, it's possible, but at least there's no headache, yet. Also, I woke and was so hot, I put light clothes on but returned to normal now so a jacket will be in order to get DGD to school. Crazy

Morning all, dentist day here. That’s about all I’ve got on my list for the day. While we are in that town we’ll stop for some groceries, and I hope for lunch. Our appointments are 10 &. 11, so it should work out to do lunch before we come home. That would be good because my brain is having trouble coming up with ideas for meals. Not unusual, but really am struggling with that. Since we are home this weekend because of the weather, I need to get out some cookbooks and make some menu plans.
I like having some days when I don’t have a huge to-do list. So this afternoon might be reading? I have a couple books I picked up at the library to start. Might take one with me to the dentist so I can read while I wait for DH.
Nancy - that’s Jim’s kind of meal. Steak and potatoes.
Betty - your little girl is growing up so quickly now. Did you choose a color for the kitchen? Your idea of a creamy white color sounded good to me. Our’s was called ‘sand’ something, it’s a little yellow/tan color. It’s worked well for us for many years. Hope you find something you like better than what you have, but it sounds like you are so ready to change it that anything will be better?
Gina - how interesting about DFDIL’s dad’s farm. Seems unusual in my world to have a farm but you don’t live there. Does someone live in the house to take care of the chickens and more? So glad that DSon has found such a wonderful life partner, and so love that she is including your DDer in their lives, and helping her step out and meet more people.
Time for the shower and figure out what to wear, this changing season it’s hard to dress warm enough but not too warm. Hmmm.

Betty - we were typing at the same time, I’m glad you have chosen a color. Hope it works when you put it on the walls. I did buy those little trial things the last time I needed to choose a color and was glad I did, as it looks different on our walls than it does in the store - that and I have so much trouble picking colors, I suspect with your DH liking to paint he might be pretty good at it, unless his idea of the color is different from yours?

Good morning. It's cool and overcast but will warm up. I got a hydrangea bush to replace a dead one out back. Now, after doing an "inspection" of my front gardens, I see another hydrangea looks like it's dead or dying. IIWII. It's still too cold here to plant anything - temps are near freezing at night - so I wrapped the new bush in some jute fabric and put it in a corner against 2 walls. This weekend I'll start fertilizing and putting down mulch.
Today, like Peg, is dentist day. I'll leave at 10 so I can drive to the dump on my way - her office is about 5 minutes north of the dump so that works. I'm not only bringing a ton of food scraps (lots of dish scrapings and leftovers after feeding 20 people this week) and also we decided to ditch our old Cuisinart Grind and Brew coffee maker. I've used it maybe 5 times in 2 years and 4 of them, it leaked all over everything. We can buy an inexpensive drip maker before our next big gathering. We ended up making individual Nespresso's for those who wanted coffee. At least we had a backup, even if it meant that D stook in the kitchen for a while making the coffee.
Peg - GL at the dentist. I agree about what to wear, although I've decided it's time to wash my heavy sweaters and start putting them away. Since I only have room to "dry flat" 3 at a time, that chore takes me a few weeks to do. I'll keep the light sweaters out. Am wearing one of them today.
Betty - what color will you get for your kitchen?
Allison - welcome to the Ruggables fan club. Boy was I glad to have the Ruggable runners in my kitchen. I still need to clean the oven. I'm going to start with its steam cleaning feature and see if that does the trick, but am still too tired to get down on my hands and knees to clean up before and after.
Nancy - your dinner sounds perfect. We had a big salad along with some of the yummy lemon chicken I made for the Seder. We still have a ton of it. If we don't eat it, I'm going to freeze it for another day.
Jeanne - oh no! How dare Scruffy pull out a plant! LOL. Sorry about that. It's nice for walking. Will you go to the beach?
Must clear my inbox and brush my teeth again before leaving for the dentist. TTFN

Good morning bammies. I stayed up late reading and slept in this morning. I have my annual gyn at 11 - To err on the side of caution I did a home test and it is negative. The scale is finally moving down a bit though I am still up 6 pounds from last year's appointment. Eating out and desserts are my downfall...
Betty - glad you have selected a paint color.
Peg & Caryn - GL at the dentist - love the feeling of my teeth after a cleaning.
Caryn - I bought our first Ruggables in 2021 for the condo after the renovation. I didn't know about the Spill Club but the gal yesterday was great giving me credit for all 5 purchases. The FAQs specifically say you must activate the account before a purchase but she gave me credit for all.

Good morning!
Sunny day, but windchill is in the high 30s! Totally underdressed when walking with Scruffy!
Caryn - so, no walks near the water today, especially with wind coming off the water.
Betty - yay! On new paint color and have fun shopping for ruggables.
Peg - have fun at the dentist. Hope you get lunch out followed by a relaxing afternoon.
Allison - Wordle in 4 for me. One error in connections, and waffle w 5 left!
DH wants to wait before going anywhere, but not sure if I have enough time to make more babaganoush that he wants. Might have to wait til later.
