Good morning all ~ It has turned cooler this morning and tomorrow will be under 30 in the morning. I hope everyone stays warm!
Today I have a few meetings and a co-worker has invited me to lunch. Then the weekend! Hurray! I'm going to try to get to the credit union today for some gift cards.
Joyce, thinking of you as you care for your parents. I hope you are finding time to rest and recharge yourself.
Hugs all around!

Happy TGIF all,
Yesterday was a productive day for our new home. We met with our builder and started adjusting a floor plan to meet our wants. We brought a copy home with us and have started measuring things here and making more notes on the plan. The new house will be only about 300 sq ft smaller than this one but it will all be on one floor with lots of storage, a walk-in pantry, and a 4'x5' island. More to come as the process continues.
Today is lunch with our usual group and bill paying. I may try to do some shopping for DH. I don't have any real ideas 😞.
The next week is supposed to be total winter here with below normal temps and some snow......Merry Christmas all!!
Waving to everyone and please know I think of you all often throughout the day! Hugs!!
Peg

Good Morning - 10 degrees in Topeka. Supposed to warm up a bit tomorrow.
Peg - your new home sounds exciting - many decisions. I have a half duplex now - very comfortable 2 bed, 2 bath unit with full walkout basement. But over the course of my married life, we owned 9 homes, I think it was. And I can look back and think of special things from each and wonder what it would be like to plan a home with all those favorite things, and the yard with the best landscaping, etc. In the meantime, I am grateful for what I have and that I have been able to pay off the mortgage now during my widowhood.
Tomorrow night is a folk concert with a bluegrass opening act. Looking forward to going to that. It is a good group of folks that attend these and I am totally comfortable attending alone.
Well, time to leave for work.
Have a nice day.
Janice

Good morning friends. The performance of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder was fantastic! Today we have a few errands but will be staying home for most of the day. We have dinner with our son tonight. Tomorrow we head up to the Berkshires in the Jeep. Snow is predicted for this weekend. Peg, the new house sounds great! Keep us updated through the process. Janice, the live music sounds great! Enjoy! Maryenne, stay warm! It seems that winter has arrived for all of us! My skin is so dry! I use so much moisturizer in the winter, I should buy Aveeno stock. Have a great day, Lynn

Good morning everyone!
Maryenne, enjoy lunch with your co-worker! That sounds like fun.
Peg, planning for the new house sounds so exciting! I love the details you've shared with us thus far, especially the lots of storage. I didn't realize it when we first bought this house, but this house actually has the least amount of storage of anywhere we've ever lived. I guess I had been so blessed with it in previous houses, that I didn't pay enough attention when house hunting this time. Also we bought this house while still living in CA, so I didn't see it again from the time we made the offer in December until we moved into it in July. The floor plan itself works well for our needs, but the storage space is really not good especially now that there are 4 of us living here.
Janice, your folk concert sounds like fun. Wish we lived close and could go together. I'd enjoy that too.
Lynn, I am right there with you about dry winter skin, and it seems like this winter has started off even drier than previous years. I don't know if that's all due to being another year older, or if it also has to do with the fact that we've had such dry weather this fall.
My dad did not get a good doctor's report yesterday. That discouraged him, and really us all. Home health nurse was here early this morning and drew blood, now the physical therapist is here.
The weather here is cold for us with a high today only in the 30s, and a low tonight predicted of 18*! Think I'll make a pot of chili. That sounds like good, warm, comfort food. Will make some cornbread to go with it.
Have a lovely day everyone!

Hello and happy Friday to everyone
Peg - Your house building sounds exciting.
Janice - the concert sounds great. Enjoy it.
Joyce - prayers for your dad.
We visited the memory unit this morning. That is the dog's favorite place to visit. They love to pat her and she is so comfortable there.
I also have a 99 year old friend who lives in the assisted living part of the complex so we go and see him, too.
It is cold and windy here. I am not looking forward to winter.
Have a good weekend all.
