Good morning dear friends,
We now have ice with a light dusting of snow on top and the high today is our current temp of around 10..... Our temps should rise tomorrow with no more snow predicted for a while. The sun is trying to poke through the clouds....I vote for sun!!
I did work on Christmas cards yesterday instead of wrapping presents. I am writing notes in all of them which takes extra time but otherwise we don't communicate with most of our more remote relatives. I did get to the grocery store so I couldn't buy what I need to bake today..... Mexican Wedding Cookies and Mini Cheesecakes with fresh fruit on top (made individually in a muffin pan.
Hopefully I can get the baking done, finish the cards, AND double check presents for wrapping and a "still needed" list.....mostly stocking stuffers.
Have an awesome Sunday and stay warm.

Peg, thanks for starting us up! I'm so impressed with all your Christmas preparations.
I'm going to meet my friend at the Wakulla Springs lodge today for lunch, since it was closed yesterday. I have a small gift for her - a bottle of very good balsamic vinegar and a bottle of Tuscan Herb olive oil, from our local olive oil shop. It's overcast today, so won't be as pretty, but it isn't cold out, so that's good.
Other than that, no news. Work should be relatively quiet this week, with so many taking off. I'm not taking any time off - they give us the Monday after Christmas and New Year's so I'll have two 3-day weekends in a row.

Good morning all
We had 4 inches of snow yesterday and today it is raining and the temps are in the 50's. What a weird weather pattern.
I am hoping the snow will be washed away while it is warm out. I still have to shovel my driveway if I want to take my car out today. Tomorrow the temp is supposed to be in the teens so nothing will melt. I just walked the dog and it is a little slippery.
Last night the whole family went to the Christmas Revels, 3 generations. What a great show! It was Acadian/Cajun this year. We took friends that had never seen Revels before and they had a great time. Next year it will be Venice.
I hope everyone is warm and safe today. I especially hope that Michelynn and Joan are all right.

Good morning friends. What a busy one it has been! I did a load of laundry, wiped up the kitchen countertops, ran a load of dishes. We have also been to an early mass fo DH's BFF's one year anniversary of passing. And out to breakfast with the family. And then to two stores for last minute gifts. Now I am off to the grocery store for a few things for DH to use in his Holiday Stout recipe. And to the pharmacy to get my Medicare card in their system for prescription renewals. Then I think an afternoon of reading and television is in order! We watched Somm on Netflix last night. It was recommended by a sommelier friend of ours. What a grueling certification process! If you have any interest in wines I highly recommend it. Have a great day! Lynn

A very cold day in Kansas too. Started off at 9 below zero and ended up sunny and about 12 above. I didn't go out. Changed bedding, laundry, made two batches of fudge for gifts. Puttering in other words.
I will not be taking any extra time off either - two three day weekends are a real treat!
I went to our local spice shop and got an assortment of small bottles of balsamic vinegars and olive oils. One I got was Tuscan Herb too - I thought it was very tasty. Like that the olive oil shops have samples to try.
Tomorrow after work I will be going to a retirement home and visiting and giving a few gifts - these ladies have no family left at all and they enjoy the visits and have such interesting stories to tell of their youth, etc. Having grown up on a farm and gone to a one room school myself, I can tell a few stories too!
Have a good week.
