Good morning all,
I think I finished my "shopping" last night -- online, of course. I love Amazon gift cards! I also needed one more thing for one of my sons so I sent a box of cheese and sausage that is actually supposed to arrive on Friday.
Thank you Peg and Lynn for the countdown calendar idea. I think I will start doing that when I get back from my San Diego trip the third week of February.
Joyce, Esther, and Joan -- hope all is well with you.

Good Morning all -
Retirement - Maryenne, I will be watching to see how this goes for you. Sorry that things at work are not as you would like them. If my work were to change, I might be more inclined to set a retirement date but for now, things are good and I enjoy it. I also, as a widow, don't feel the urge to stay at home that I might have. Maybe I will be the only "still working" on this working thread.
And work is busy this week -- seems people have a sudden urge to call their law office and take care of things before year end!

Hi all,
We did meet with our builder for a couple of hours yesterday and went through the first spec sheet on the new house. DH kind of pushed through everything he thought would be best and I can honestly say there were things that I hadn't given much thought to yet......like counter tops....Formica, Granite or Quartz?? What do you guys all have and what do you like?? DH said quartz (I think it is more pricey that granite). Is it worth it?? I know Lynn and Joyce have done remodels more recently than I have. I would love to hear your thoughts.
This morning I will be doing some baking as our lunch group is getting together tomorrow and I am responsible for dessert. This afternoon I will wrap presents. I've got my menu ideas and grocery list complete but I won't go to the store until tomorrow after our lunch gathering.
DH is still asleep this morning so I am enjoying a cup of coffee and watching the sunrise.

Good morning all.
Peg, I am extremely happy with the "new" Formica counters we had installed. They are not the old gold flecked ones from the 70's. Very easy to clean!
Maryenne, good job on being done with the shopping. We are on our way to pick up toilet paper, paper towels and the last of the hristmas presents at BJ's warehouse. They sell bulk iTunes adds at a discount The young adults will love them! We are on our way to Massachusetts so half the paper goods will stay there!
Our mission in MA is to clean out the enclosed porch so the contractor can start working on the new ceiling and painting the walls.
Janice, I am always surprised how the end of the year brings urgency to matters both legal and financial.
Hope all is well with Joyce, Esther, Joan and Michelynnn.
