Hi, all! Faye, thanks for being on the other end of my IMs. As Faye knows, I finished regulating the harp. While owning my expensive home in San Jose, I learned to do quite a few things that most would pay for...that also involves harps now It was an interesting process and am glad it's done! Amy, I remember you saying that a trainer had had heart sx last year, this must be your winter trainer. How nice to still have him around to have lessons with (huh...am I ending a sentence with a dangling participle?). Glad the tracking feels like it's working! Barb, isn't it fun riding in the cold? The ponies get so...frisky! Beth, glad there's no more bad news! House cleaning and laundry are always our companions! Hi to Libby and Dutch! I did go swimming yesterday. Was worried about the temp, so wore my rash guard but didn't really need it. Tried out the swim fins my brother gave me...that make me REALLY fast Looks like I have to go to Office Depot today and get ink and paper for the printer. The Bangalore office moved to a new building and the printers aren't set up yet so guess who gets to print and sign documents??!?! Cathy

Hi all! I love that we have famous people here! Hand is about the same. Dr says nerve could be damaged from surgery - time will tell. Go back in a month. Good news is it was not cut, so really good chance all numbing will go away in time. Ally is a trouper - but what choice does she have, plus she has age on her side. Our cold wind is gone (making it 8 degrees w/ wind chill). This morning no wind, and a freezing 15 degrees. Sunny out now - stuff slowly melting but still only 30 degrees. Rain coming Saturday night... after some snow, then freezing rain. Then back to our normal 40 some degrees and lots of rain all next week... Its a mess, but I like 40 degrees! I think I found a horse sitter... I'll take that over board right now (full care at $450). I found a place - seriously across the street - self care for $185 indoor/outdoor arena. I think that's the trick for this summer and breaking her!! Have a great day all! Smooches!

BETH-thanks. i was really happy with the photo and they are letting me use it. Fingers crossed it gets me some gigs. BARB-do you have a show this weekend? i think you have one more or was the last one, your last one? doing anything new? DUTCH-thanks. I remember when I broke the wrist my thumb was numb, felt odd . eventually it went away. He also said it was the nerve and would eventually feel ok and he was right . it took time but gradually got better and then it was normal again. Hope the same for you. it's still really early. And swelling has no where to go in fingers. Glad you think you found a sitter for Ally.
waving to all. Thanks for the nice words about my photo and the article. Funny, the first gig, in the photo i looked awful, so I got new lipstick, knew my hair was too short, knew not to wear a muted color or pants. Got a scarf. different earrings. wore a skirt. now this last one is great but my bag is on the floor, I can crop it out but will be careful to have nothing on the floor around me. Now I see why stylists have jobs! looking nice and photographing well are 2 different things!

Hi all,
Barb- Lukas slips on the black top driveway so I can't even imagine him on ice. At first we were blaming his European shoes. He is slightly better with new shoes but I still keep him on the grass as long as possible.
Faye- nice article and photo! They had many good things to say.
Just had someone ring the doorbell, I was hoping for the UPS delivery but it was just someone selling replacement windows and doors. I bought myself another tote because it was cute and on clearance. My daughter is a 31 consultant and I keep saying I am supporting her business but I think I may have a "tote acquisition Problem" lol. I already have 2 tote bags from long ago that I am going to donate when this one arrives in keeping with my resolution to reduce the amount of stuff I have. I like to organize things in totes so I do use them.
time for dinner.
Weigh in Tomorrow. I hope my efforts to track and exercise pay off even a little bit.

Hi all,
Tracking yes.
So my tracking and going to the gym has paid off because I lost 4.2 lbs. I am happy with that. I don't expect that every week but it is a motivating feeling. Still have some pounds to go to get back to where I was this past summer but at least I am going in the right direction. I knew my clothes were getting snug but I am glad I got rid of my bigger clothes so I don't have a fall back, I just get to wear snug clothes until I lose the weight.
We got a little bit of snow. I am going to go clear the walks.

Good morning Friday.
We're expecting some snow late this afternoon. Anywhere from a trace to 2 inches. Businesses are closing and DH's bus recertification class was canceled today. In reality they probably could have had the class and got home before anything happened but that is the south for you. Any mention of snow/ice and everything closes.
Today will be another quiet day staying home. Hope everyone has a great day.

Hi, all! Faye, yes, practice tonight and show tomorrow. Should I get a stylist?? JK I will have to see if my black slacks fit! Amy, congrats on the WL! See...it does work, why don't we believe it all the time Beth, good luck with the weather (it would be the same here if they mentioned snow). There's major frost again this morning but the rain is supposed to return tomorrow (just in time for the concert I think). Dutch, yeah, nerves take longer to regenerate that other body bits. As Faye said, it's a slow process. Good luck! Glad you found a pony-sitter! Hi to Barb and Libby! Quite cold out this morning, but will hope it warms up a bit. Might try the pool this afternoon but Friday's tend to be crazy as there are a couple of instructors who teach and take lanes, leaving less for the rest of us. Then rehearsal tonight. After putting time in to regulate the harp this week, it sounds wonderful...who knew Cathy

Hi Faye,
I tried to stay within my daily points this past week, although I wasn't perfect but no big overages. I increased my activity by making it to the gym 3 times and I did a different type of class each time. I don't really track my activity points. I made better food choices and set myself up for success by buying easy things like apples and bananas, bagged salad and frozen veggies in steamer bags,Dannon light and fit yogurt is my late evening TV treat. I am not expecting to lose this much every week but it was a real boost to have a loss after making such an effort.
You can do this! I think the tracking and the food shopping helped. I need to have fast and easy good food choices or I will grab anything. Make sure you have some "free" foods on hand so you can stay closer to daily points without being hungry.
One other thing I do is wear snug clothes even when home, not uncomfortable but not loose. eg. snug jeans, not sweatpants around the house. Keeps me more honest.

HI all - Cathy - good luck tomorrow -you do do great! We got a dusting of snow last night -which now covered up the ice in the paddock -making it worse to walk around. I have a pair of slip on "spikes" I put on my boots which do help! Dutch you cold is coming our way -single digits tomorrow night -heavy blanket weather! Funny - you watch what you eat - go to the gym 3x a week & you can actually lose some weight! (2.1lb this week) I'm sure some may be "water" weight - now to see if I can stay on track! I can tell I'm eating better cause I'm always hungry! LOL
faye- no shows for a bit -will be putting work in my art group gallery for Feb & March -they will have a "reception" 2/11 -I'll do that & then I'm doing a small "coffee house/art exhibit" 2/28 -not expecting much but you never know.
Have to inventory valentines glass to take to my shop in town tomorrow -again -crap shoot if stuff sells -but hey gets it out of my basement (for a while!)
Waving to the rest -keep warm - HAGD - CBL

CATHY-if you wear lipstick just make sure to reapply before the show. and a darker color is better for photos. Have a great time! so glad the harp is sounding so nice. BARB and AMY-so guess I need to track more than 1 day in a week! ok , here's to trying again. Congrats ladies on the excellent weight losses.
DUTCH-cold here too and some snow in the AM and may get more tomorrow.
this airport shooting has me upset, had a friend flying down but she's there and it was a different airport. So scary

We are getting a mix of rain, sleet and snow. The roads are still too warm for it to stick but all the other surfaces are getting an icy coat. Supposed to get down to the lower 20's so it will probably very icy on the roads in the morning.

Good morning Saturday.
It's 20* here this morning. Brrr!!! We got some snow but mostly sleet and freezing rain. Most everything has a coat of ice. there are a few hardy souls on the road this morning. I haven't been out of the house yet to feed the cats. It may not get to 32* today. This is not good here in the south. Needless to say I'm staying home. It's weather like this that I do not miss having to clean stalls and haul water from the house to water the horses.
Cathy-is tonight your gig? How was rehearsal since you tuned up the harp?
Amy-if I remember right you have an indoor arena to ride in? WTG on the wt loss.
Barb-are you making a lot of glassware?
Faye-what songs do you play for St. Patrick's day?
Dutch. Is everyone healthy? Does DS like playing in the snow?
Libby-did you make it to AZ?

Good Morning! Yes Beth - it's cold here as well -about the same -we are supposed to get 2-4" of snow later -then REALLY cold- zero wind chill -heavy blankets all around! I am making some red/white/hearts stuff for Valentines Day -although I still have quite a bit left from last year -once the holiday is over they go away -i bring some out for mothers day (!) I put a few in each shop & then I'm doing my art gallery reception on 2/11.
We have someone coming to measure for windows -we are having them all replaced (18 of them including 4 big "picture" windows) they are the originals from the house 30 years -a few have had glass replaced but not the frames etc. There goes this years vacation!
Cathy - knock em dead today! Amy are you riding this weekend? I know that even indoors are cold. The thing I hated the most when I boarded at indoors is when the snow melted/fell off the roof -while I was in riding. ALways good for a spook or two!
yes- the Ft Lauderdale thing is scary -that is where I fly into when I go to visit family -I'm guessing when i go in 10 days they will be locked up pretty tight!
Off to deliver glass to a shop - then barn to clean & fluff before the snow hits.
Waving to the gang - Stay warm & dry - ride if you can - HAGD - CBL

BETH-yes, stay in. I don't mind snow but I don't do ice! I play Irish tunes. I'm learning When Irish eyes are smiling and some new airs and I try to do some jigs, reels and hornpipe so it's not all slow. and I talk about the tunes. So i have some favorites and I try to learn some new ones. CATHY-good luck today!! have fun. hope they take photos. BARB-glass on FB looks nice. we didn't get snow but I think they say some. but it's cold they used to put those little soft things in the horse's ears when there was snow melting off but yeah when it shifted they would notice. Good luck with the windows are you getting them replaced in the winter because that will make the house really cold when they are installing. we are looking at carpet. got some samples but may be too light to see the harp strings (Cathy will appreciate that one). so may go back to see other colors. Right now I have green in the room which is not in style for years but works great for the harp. waving to all. HAGD

Gonna hit the gym -then barn- going to make my carrot soup later for tonight -good night for soup and its so easy & good!
Cathy -how was the concert -sure you rocked em!
Waving to the gang-keep warm -ride if you can (thinking Amy may be the only one these days lol) HAGD - CBL

Good morning Sunday
CATHY-how did the show go? BARB-did you get a lot of snow? BETH-how is the knee? Is surgery out patient? LIBBY-haven't seen you on the board, hope all is ok and you are just busy after vacation. AMY-do DDs have any dance competitions with St. Patrick's day in a few months? did you go to Hershey Park when you went a while back? we used to go to CandyLane when it was lit up for Christmas every year. So pretty. DUTCH-how's Ally? how are you?

Good morning.
Church service was canceled yesterday for today due to icy conditions on the road. It's supposed to get above freezing today so I hope the icy conditions will be gone later. It's another day of staying indoors.
Faye-I haven't done much of anything except sit around the last few days (due to weather) so my knee isn't hurting much. My surgery is outpatient on the 16th.
Barb- I would rather take snow than ice but really want neither.

Hi All, tracking yes Just got back from my riding lesson. Trainer works me pretty hard LOL. He said he could tell I was doing my homework so that's a plus. I feel I am making progress for sure. 20* at the barn and my toes froze. I warm up when riding but I also sweat so I start to get really cold while taking care of Lukas after the ride. Once I get in the car on the drive home I warm up again. When I get to the barn, Lukas usually comes when I call him but today he was in his shed and decided it was to windy to leave it so I had to go get him. Lukas is tuned out with a mini donkey now, named Diego, who usually follows Lukas to the gate but today he stayed in the shed. The big advantage of the indoor is good footing and no wind but it is still cold. I feel a little sorry my trainer who is standing in there for an hour. Living in PA most of the barns that want to attract boarders have some kind of indoor. Faye- love the Irish tunes. DD1 will be performing for St. Patrick's Day she is almost retired from competing. She is going for her teaching certification in Sept. and once she gets that she will be "pro" and won't compete anymore although she could still do performances. Barb- I love your glass art of course. Have you ever thought about pre-wrapping gift boxes for the Valentines ones. Men like to select gifts that are ready to go. Beth-It is good that you can stay in with your knee issue. Ice is the worst! Faye- pick the carpet you like, styles come and go and then come back again. Cathy- Do tell us all about the show. Hi to Libby and Dutch! HAGD Amy

Amy -will live vicariously thru you for the winter! Hit the Y this morning then took Tundra to dog park, then cleaned. I tell DH I am saving lots of money as by the time I'm done with all that I'm too tired to shop!
Carrot soup was yummy - lots of left overs for the next few days! Enjoy your evenings - tomorrow's another week!
