Hi CJ: It poured torrential amounts of rain yesterday and all last night - and it got down into the 40s. Finally, today, it has calmed down, the storm has passed, and temps are in the high 50s - and though the skies are cloudy, no rain - for a while anyway. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 60s with no rain. Hoping that it stays that way for our get-together.
I have been working on my quilt - every day I spend some time on the middle lotus block. Yesterday, I spilled water (thank goodness it wasn't tea or coffee) on the lotus block, the surrounding blocks and the batting behind it. So, I had to wipe that up and dry off the blocks - using a hair dryer for a while - I finally just let it sit in the laundry room. And last night, I ironed it completely dry and no shrinkage occurred. (Because I always pre-wash all my fabric before cutting......)
I also discovered yesterday - after spending a lot of time searching, that I didn't have any large spools of black quilting thread. I found one very small half-used spool with black thread. But I had to search on-line to order more - tried Joann's first for pickup. However, they directed me to pickup at a store not in my immediate neighborhood, which I'll not do. So, I ordered on Amazon and it's supposed to arrive today. I need the black thread for zigzagging the edges of the lotus motif.
Today, I have de-cluttering to do for the housecleaners coming tomorrow and for our get-together.
As I've always understood gallbladder problems, are that a low fat regimen is best - and healthy fats for cooking - olive and avocado oils. I've had to search for low salt and low fat frozen meals - and I find that Healthy Choice and Lean Cuisine brands are good choices. Just read the labels, I guess. Also, choosing low fat versions of cheese, milk, sour cream, cottage cheese, etc. are better too. Those have always been our choice for many years.
I'm glad to hear that your pain has eased up some. Hopefully, that will continue - it takes time to recuperate after any surgery. But easier said, than done. Hoping you will become more encouraged as time goes on. Take it easy - slow steps.

Hi busybee - Your temps really did get low! Hope you do have a nice day today. I'm glad it was only water you spilled on your quilt, and I'm happy it looked fine after you ironed it and it dried. Hope you get your thread soon. I already eat lots of lower fat versions of things. The only thing I do eat full fat is cheese, I didn't care for the low fat versions. But I don't eat a lot of cheese and could probably do alright with the full fat, or just give up the cheese altogether. It seems like it will be just trial and error with foods I can tolerate now. I tried some decaf tea yesterday - it was terrible and tasted like grass or weeds or something I think I'll just try a cup of regular tea this week and see if it affects me. I could even go to a cup every other day. I'm hoping to pull out those Moda blocks today and figure out a layout for them and sew them together. I'm trying to set a goal of the end of this month to get those two tops finished. I don't think I'll do this week's Blockheads block. It's another one with a lot of pieces and it just looks busy. There are still 9 more blocks to go and I only need to make 6 more for my quilt top. So I can always come back to it and make it I don't like at least 6 of the last blocks. my.modafabrics.com/inspiration-resources/bh5-group-2-block-21-stephanie-sliwinskiTake care and have a good day

Hi CJ: It's still cloudy but it's in the lower 60s right now at 2:30 pm. And some sunshine is beginning to peak through - Yay! Today is supposed to be the best day of the weekend - but maybe Memorial Day Monday will be warmer and dry.
We're not going anywhere over the long weekend anyway. Today my YDS, DDIL and DC come at 6 pm for pizza and conversation. I'm looking forward to having them.
All is sparkling and clean after the housecleaners did their magic. And I have turned on the air cleaners and opened doors a bit and windows - because of the cat and allergies.
I usually eat full-fat cheese too but we also use Kraft 2% American cheese slices, and both DH and I like it - though the texture is certainly not equal to "real" cheese. And we're so used to using low fat dairy products that we don't miss the full fat versions, i.e. milk, cottage cheese, sour cream, etc.. And we use an olive oil-based margarine. The only time I use butter is for baking purposes - though we always have it available. We eat sparingly of red meats, mostly concentrating on chicken and turkey (ground) and fish. Certainly though, once a week, I'll cook a meal with beef, or pork. Lamb we save for special occasions. And we barely eat meat in maybe 3, sometimes 4 ounces a portion at a meal.
No sewing today - just going to rest because I'm sleep-deprived - not being able to get to sleep easily last night - AND - getting up earlier than usual for the cleaners. NY Yankees beat us 2 games in a row, so we ended up splitting the 4-game series.
Hope your recuperation continues without any more unusual painful episodes.
Glad you're continuing to work on your Moda projects.
Take care.

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well today and that you are having some nicer weather. It's still warm here and a bit humid, and I think it's supposed to be that way for the weekend. How did your get together go? I hope you were able to have it and everyone enjoyed being together. finished both of the Moda Blockheads quilt top, that is such a relief to me since they've been on my mind. I'm not completely happy with how they look but they are done. I now only have one unfinished project from last year - it was the blue basket blocks I made. I have a layout for them to do "on point", so I need to read through the pattern and see if that's really what I want to do. I have a bunch of scraps from these last few quilts that I need to get cut up and put away and I think I'll go back now and remake those half square triangles I made too small before I got sick. So those will be some weekend things to do. I drove today for the first time in a few weeks and that was fine, but I have to admit it was kind of nice to have a few weeks break from all my responsibilities even if I had to go to the hospital to do it Take care and have a wonderful weekend

Hi CJ: Yesterday turned out to be a pleasant day, weather-wise, for a change. No rain appeared - and it was in the mid 60s - sunshine graced us later in the afternoon.
I kept the doors and a window in the kitchen a bit open and ran the air cleaners for our company. But we didn't sit outside at all - as it was too cool for me to do that for any length of time. They came about 5:30 and stayed until 8:30 when my Cousin left, and YDS and DDIL stayed another hour. We enjoyed the pizza and salad with cold drinks that I got ready including my famous unsweetened iced tea. And DC brought a dozen of delicious cupcake size Bundt cakes in various flavors.
The reason for our meeting was confidential and had to do with family legal issues. All was resolved amicably and we are proceeding according to our mutual agreement. The issues had been brought to our attention a couple weeks ago and a get-together was mutually agreed on. We feel fortunate to have these 3 family members who are so competent and caring who will have the responsibility of dealing with issues that would affect our heirs.
I've spent a lot of time today on the phone, texting, and writing. And I'm totally exhausted mentally.
I'm so happy to hear that you were able to drive once again and that you realize that having the "break" from your normal habits was good - though it happened to include surgery and recuperation. Continue to heal and slowly add additional activities.

Hi busybee - I'm glad you had some nice weather. It's really warm here today, in the high 80s and sunny. I'm glad your get together went well and you were able to get some family matters resolved. Hope you have a break this weekend from "business type" things. I have the pieces of fabric cut to remake the half square triangles that I made too small. I'm using the 8 at a time method for making these and I hope to get them sewn, cut apart and trimmed today. Then I'll be ready to make 10 more blocks for the quilt. Take care

Hi CJ: Yesterday was another cloudy and colder than normal kind of a day. And today is more of the same - the only reprieve is maybe tomorrow will lighten up - get a bit warmer and maybe we'll see some sunshine. We're in the mid 50s right now - and the nights are into the 40s. The only saving grace of all this wet and cold weather is that our reservoirs will not be so depleted and we'll be better prepared for the hot summer ahead.
I took a "day off" yesterday - did not do much of anything - except read and surf the internet. And - I had a wonderful phone conversation with my DH's niece, a single lady of 63 years - newly retired attorney, who worked in WA State's AG office for most of her career. We talked for an hour and a half. I also didn't cook - DH went to pick up takeout chicken - so that was our holiday "picnic" for the weekend. I'll cook again today.
I'm glad to hear that you're getting back to those HSTs, and I love that 8-at-a-time method of making them.
As you said, I'm so glad not to have to deal with any more "business-type" chores - for a while anyway!
Stay well and enjoy your summer weather.

Hi busybee - It's cooler here today, only in the 70s with some scattered showers. That's a nice break from the high 80s we've been having. I'm glad you took a day off for yourself, we all need those I finished making the 10 blocks for the quilt I decided to make using the Kansas Troubles fabric line. But now I'm just kind of tired of these fabrics and would like to work with some brighter fabrics. I'll have to check through my patterns and pictures I've saved of ideas and maybe make a table runner. I wish I felt more like working on some larger quilts, but I just don't right now. I miss all that motivation I had at my old house, I just don't seem to have that much anymore. I guess the move and now the surgery have just messed up the way I work on quilts. I went up to my house yesterday, first time in about 3 weeks, and fortunately everything was alright. The grass needs mowed again, so I need to set that up. I'm hoping to find a new company to work with on the house sale soon. Hope you can get back to your quilt this week. Take care

Hi CJ: It was nicer yesterday - in the higher 60s I guess. I didn't go out - it was still partly cloudy - and not appealing to me. Today is back to the "same 'ole" weather - in the higher 50s and gloomy and it could start spitting some rain.
So, not much news from me today - except, DD started working from home for half a day today - Finally! After over 2 months since her surgery! She said it really hurt when she stood up after sitting for too long and she'll remember to stand up more often tomorrow. So - that's good news! And she managed to remember all the protocols necessary for her job!
I'm putting together a grocery order today - and yesterday I wrote checks and worked on my household accounts.
No progress on the magic quilt.
I did have another long texting session with our niece yesterday. She explained the situation with her older sister - the one who calls us periodically and we don't know how to respond to her. So, that explanation really helped us out. She just told us to tell her to call back when she's feeling better - so we don't have to endure her ranting!
I'm glad to hear that all is well at your old house. Yes, that darn grass does just keep on growing. But no surprise that you're just not in the same pattern you were before your move. You'll find your happy place with time. You've just come through a lot of traumatic events. So go easy on yourself.

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well. I'm glad to hear your DD has started back to work part time, I hope she'll continue to do well. It's nice that you have so many different family members to talk with. I should make more of an effort to contact some of my family members, there are only a few I talk to. Your weather sure is changeable, but I guess you are used to that. It's been warm here but after today I think the temps will only be in the 70s for the next few days. It's been nice because I haven't had to use my AC yet, although I did turn it on once just to make sure it was working. After living in my hot house the last several years I've built up a pretty good tolerance to the heat and unless it gets over 80 degrees in this house I'm fine without the AC on. I'll leave it off as long as I can to save on electric bills. I went out this morning to run errands and do a bit of grocery shopping, when I got back I was tired so I'm just taking it easy this afternoon. It's amazing how having surgery can do that. I'm sure I'll have more energy in the next few weeks. I did pull some fabrics to make a table runner and I hope I can get them cut up today, so they'll be ready to piece. The new Moda Blockheads block came out today and I think I'll make this one since it's pretty easy: modafabrics.com/inspiration-resources/bh5-group-2-block-22-jackie-macdonaldHope you can get back to your quilt soon. Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well today. It's cooler here, only in the 70s. It's nice to have a few days like that after the warmer weather. I finished the table runner today and also got it machine quilted, just need to put on the binding. I wanted to make something summer like, so I made 3 sailboat blocks and used sky and water fabrics in the blocks. Then I put a border around them using a seashell fabric. I quilted it with the wavy stitch. I'm hoping I might feel like getting the fabrics cut for the Moda Blockheads block today too. Yesterday afternoon I was sitting at my computer and suddenly because very nauseous. It just came out of nowhere. I ended up going to bed for several hours and later that evening I had some chicken noodle soup and saltine crackers. I was half afraid to eat today, but so far I haven't felt sick. I do have a pain in my side though, like I had last week. I'm guessing it might gas. I guess it will take awhile to get used to my new digestive system. I hope I don't get the nausea very much though, I'd rather have pain than that. Take care

Hi CJ: It's a bit nicer today - reaching 60+ so far - and no rain - some blue sky showing among mostly clouds. Yesterday, it remained in the 50s and rainy. However, we had some drier periods too - and that's when I went to pick up my groceries.
So, I managed to haul in groceries during a dry spell (the rain returned later) - DH helps me of course. Spent the rest of the afternoon storing and arranging groceries. We get lots of fresh fruit - and much of that goes into the downstairs fridge - DH's domain.
Today, I must continue to finish the documents needed to finalize our LW&T.
I'm so sorry to hear about your nausea episode yesterday - not fun at all. I sure hope it doesn't reoccur.
DD continues to work half days - however, she's finding it somewhat painful. She's just received approval for an epidural injection to easy her back and sciatic pain.
That table runner sounds lovely - a great idea to use a nautical theme.
Hope your day is more comfortable than yesterday.

Hi CJ: It's a beautiful gorgeous day out here, reaching 70 so far - with sunny cloudless skies. I even went outside to sit in the sun for a few minutes. Later, when my rose bed is in the shade, I'll finish the pruning I started months ago (it seems). This is a short respite from our gloomy weather, though. Because the rain will return especially late Saturday and Sunday and another atmospheric river is due to hit our coastal areas by Monday. I'll also get a haircut later outside on the deck. It's long overdue too. I got my paperwork finished yesterday - finally - and sent it off to the attorney's office. Then, I cooked a good chicken dinner and we relaxed the rest of the evening. Hope you're feeling better and not having a relapse of your earlier problem.

Hi busybee - I'm glad you had some nice weather before having a rainy weekend. It's been nice here the last few days, today will be a bit warmer. It actually felt a bit cold in the house to me last night.
Hope you were able to get your hair cut too. It's nice that your DH can do that for you at home.
I went up to my house yesterday since I needed to check on the water pipes. The water company has been replacing the pipes along the road in front of my house for over a year and they were cutting off the water earlier this week. I ran the water and got the air out of the pipes, and everything seemed alright. I hated to have to turn it on because I have drips in the pipe under the kitchen sick but it stopped after the water drained through.
I finished my Moda Blockheads block yesterday and today I hope to get the binding on the table runner and work on updating my Temperature quilt since I can finish the May block now.
Hope you will be able to get back to your quilt soon too. Take care and have a good day!

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well today. Did you get the rain they predicted? It's nice here, around 80 and mostly sunny. I finished updating my Temperature quilt, 5 months done so far. May was interesting (this is the last block with the yellow tree on the right) for the first week, since I had a 90 degree day (red) and then a few days later a 50 degree day (green). I need to get the house tops made for the rest of the year, like I did for Jan-May, so it's quicker to put this together each month. I'm attaching a picture of my Moda Blockheads block too. I really liked this block and I think it would be a pretty block for a whole quilt to show off a nice fabric. I might try the block with some other fabrics. Take care

Hi CJ: Well - yes - the rains have descended upon us with a vengeance - but the worst is yet to come. We're prepared - meaning we have no plans for outdoor activities. This system will stay with us and not completely clear out until midweek. Yesterday was relatively mild - but the predicted storm system arrived last night as expected.
I did get into my sewing room yesterday and worked on the machine settings for zigzagging the edges of the lotus motif. I did some practicing - UNTIL - I got a package from UPS - tried to open it up with a pair of scissors, using one edge along one edge of the sealed package. OOPS - it slipped and caught my little finger - didn't know how bad it was for a while - but it hurt. Finally, after I called my DH to bring some bandages, which we then used to wrap the finger, we found out that luckily it was only a puncture wound. Boy - did it hurt. But I'm thankful that I wasn't using my "best" scissors, which have a much sharper edge. So, that ended my sewing session.
I'm so glad to see you posting your quilt projects - so pretty. Yes, those blocks would look lovely with a large variety of colorful larger print fabrics. And just love your temperature blocks. (So, occasionally, you also get wide differences in weather temperatures on adjacent days?)
Today, we gathered the trash and recycling and DH got them outside during a short lull between rain squalls.
I fixed soft tacos for dinner last night and we have more for tonight. And our Mariners are ending a 7-day home stretch today with 6 wins to their credit. Their next game will be in Oakland, CA. We're still at the top of our Division.
Hope you continue to stay well and enjoy your quilting projects once again.

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well today and the weather isn't too bad. It's warm here again, in the 80s and humid. I'm sorry to hear about your finger getting cut, I hope it heals up soon. It's amazing how those small cuts can hurt! I'm glad you were able to practice the applique first though. I finished putting the binding on the sailboat table runner yesterday and this morning I finally traced the redwork embroidery pattern onto fabric, so now I can work on that when I want to. This is the pattern: www.redworkplus.com/qbd/the-quilt-shopI only have the pattern on fabric (a muslin) and I'm not sure how I'll finish it once the embroidery is done. I do like how they show it finished on their website. I'm hoping that I can also work on getting the rest of the year's house tops made for my Temperature quilt. It really helps to have that done and then I only have to make the half square triangle rows and trees for the months that have 31 days. And I want to get my Moda Blockheads blocks laid out and start putting that together. I have enough for 4 of the 5 rows now and I'd like to get those put together so the last row will be quick to get done. I'm hoping I can get some motivation together to do these things soon. Take care

Hi CJ: We've had terrible weather - more torrential rain last night - today we have gusty wind - though it's not too cold - in the high 50s. Power outages throughout the region - but so far, we've just had some momentary flickers. Our DS & DDIL had an outage, but it came back on. So, we expect another day of this blustery rainy weather - until it abates on Wednesday.
I love the red work link you sent me. That will be so pretty! My finger is healing - not painful unless I push on it too hard. It really doesn't affect my sewing at all. I did work on my quilt today - once again practicing the zigzag stitch width and length that I want to use. I also found a pressure foot that will work well with the zigzag stitch. So, now all I have to do is finalize the width and length of the center lotus block before I start the zigzag stitch to attach the lotus pieces to the block.
I hope you can post a photo of the sailboat runner - glad that you got it finished.
We have another household problem we're working on - as our long-time garbage disposal is broken. We do not ever use it for actual garbage, so it's lasted a real long time. But it's expensive to replace and install. DH has spoken to a repair shop that he's used before and they are going to give him a quote, for installation and the actual disposal unit as well. A plumber quoted $500 just for the installation. And we've both made appointments at the U.W. Dental School Clinic for dental work - long overdue. We have an initial appt. in early July for both of us at the same time. So, expenses will mount up - never a reprieve from that.
You do sound like your "quilting self" again these days. I'm glad that you're getting some projects near finishing - and that you want to continue to work on them.
I need to put my quilt blocks back on the dining room table - since we cleared it all off for our get-together last week.
Stay well and enjoy your summer weather - L U C K Y!

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well today. Hope you keep your power on and the weather turns better soon. It's hot and humid here, I finally decided to turn on the AC today and cool off the house. I'll turn it up higher tonight so it won't run all night. I enjoyed those few months in my bedroom where I didn't hear my HVAC running along with my neighbor's unit. I can't believe they built these house and put HVAC units on two walls of a bedroom! My sailboat table runner didn't turn out that great, so I'm not sure I want to share a picture. I'm still having to force myself to do some quilting. I get a desire to try something and do that but I lost all that momentum I had last year at my old house. I went out this morning to run some errands. Went to the drive-thru ATM at the bank and it wasn't working, so I had to park and walk in to the one inside, which worked Then went and picked up mail at the post office - a whole big stack of requests from charities for donations. I thought when I changed my address I'd get rid of those I have ones I give to, but just not all the other ones that I know my name and address has been sold to. Then I picked up a few things on sale at the grocery store, it's crazy how much groceries are costing these days. I recently tried roasting some zucchini and I really liked it. I'm having another one tonight. I saw a video about a mystery quilt along that the National Quilter's Circle is doing right now, so I checked out their website and tried out one of the blocks in the quilt. It was a quick block to make. This is a two color quilt pattern. I don't know if I want to make the whole big quilt, but I'll have to check my fabrics and see if there is something I'd really like to use. www.nationalquilterscircle.com/post/mystery-quilt-block-challenge-april-2024/ - hope this link works. Here's a video of someone making the block: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fWAgA6zuSM&t=402sI'm glad you're able to work on your quilt, hope you keep making progress. Take care

Hi CJ: It has "finally" stopped raining and the sun is shining upon us - and it's 60 degrees. I even got outside, walking through the puddles on our pervious driveway, to check out the roses - pruning a limb here and there. It felt so good to be outside and feel the sun on my body. Today is the harbinger of better weather on its way through the week and into the weekend.
I've worked on my zigzagging samples and found a way to bring the zigzag width down to the smallest point as the leaves all end in some kind of a point. I've marked the sample and feel as though I can begin the actual zigzagging of the lotus motif. But, I need to get the block ready and finalized as to size. That's the next step.
DH hasn't heard from the 2nd plumber, so he's decided to go with the first estimate he got. But he's never one to make quick decisions - it will take him another day, at least, to finalize the job. In the meantime, we have a sieve sitting in the sink to catch any debris from falling into the disposal.
The link to the National Quilters Circle mystery block - is clear and easy to follow. And the video is too. I have been referred to NQC on other projects and I usually like the advice and tips I get.
I had a nice phone chat with a long-time political and bridge-playing friend earlier today. He checks in with me periodically, making sure I'm doing okay. It was fun listening to his stories - especially with his experiences with other bridge players - some of whom I know but others who are new to me.
Glad you've got the HVAC system to cool down your home - but it wasn't good planning on the part of the builder to place those units adjacent to each other and near your bedroom.
Stay cool and hope you sleep well.

Hi busybee - Hope you are having a good day. It's another warm and humid day here. We actually had a tornado warning earlier before a storm went through. I used to be able to go into my basement when we had those, but now I guess I'll need to go in one of the bathrooms in the house since they have no windows and are enclosed rooms. I hope the first plumber will do a good job for you. I hadn't used my garbage disposal at my old house for years, I just don't need it. I haven't used the one at the rental either. It's nice that some of your old friends stay in touch with you, I'm sure it's interesting to hear how things are now that you aren't in those groups. I hope you can get to the zigzagging on your quilt soon. I probably won't make this week's Moda Blockheads block because it has Foundation Paper Piecing in it, it is a pretty block though: modafabrics.com/inspiration-resources/bh5-group-2-block-23-sarah-wattsI laid out the blocks I have done (19 so far) and I think I like how I have the ones I've made placed in the first 4 rows. I'm going to make one of the blocks from a few weeks ago that I didn't make, so I have 20 blocks and I can put 4 rows together. I'm doing a layout of 5 blocks across and 5 blocks down. There are 8 more blocks to come, so I should be able to find 5 of those that I can make for the last row. I hope to work on that block tomorrow and start working on the sashing for the rows to be put together. I just left them laid out on my dining room floor Take care

Hi CJ: Finally - we have a wonderful late Spring day out here - at 67 degrees - blue skies - warm sun - just a slight breeze - a pleasure for us rain-soaked folks out here! I walked out to my roses - and the Mr. Lincoln is full of big fat buds. Am looking forward to the fragrance of that rose.
I had no idea that your area would ever be in danger of a tornado. Glad you have inside bathrooms that would give you protection.
The plumber came this morning and did the work - two of them - in less than an hour. The disposal unit was included in the price and they had to change the piping configuration under the sink to fit the new fixture. The cost was just under $500 - and DH felt it was quite reasonable. He does admit that he simply can't do the physical work that he used to be able to do when he was younger. Also, it would have taken him a whole day - or more - if he had tried to attempt it. It is done - and I am so thankful for the plumbing team who came so promptly. The other plumber finally called - and DH had to tell him that he made "other plans." i.e. ".......the early bird gets the worm."
No quilting time for me today - with the plumbers here - and then an urgent phone call from our DD re: a payment that I had made for her in April. She received a notice that it hadn't been paid. So, I had to do the "trouble shooting," with my checking account, but couldn't find the payment on-line on my last statement. But after talking to the bank, the payment had been received and "cleared," the day before the letter got sent out to DD. That was a hassle! Then, I finished up some other payments and went to the PO. Also, DD spent a long time on the phone with me - talking about a myriad of different things - and I had to gently tell her that I needed to write checks and get to the PO before the pickup window for today was closed.
So, I managed to get to the PO just in time.
Tomorrow is cleaning day so I have de-cluttering to do too. And I have to cook dinner. Too much on my plate today.
Stay well and cool.

Hi CJ: It's a beautiful sunny day out here - with blue skies and getting up to 70. We're more than happy to enjoy this day - long-awaited.
We're off to take our DD to her epidural injection appointment today. The housecleaners are just finishing up here and we'll leave for Seattle at 2PM.
I did lots of home stuff yesterday and getting bills paid. No sewing - but did do laundry.
Hope all is well with you.

Hi busybee - I'm happy to hear you are having a beautiful day, I know you enjoy those I'm glad the plumbers did the work quickly and I think that cost was reasonable, plumbers are very expensive here where I live. I hope your DD's appointment goes well and I also hope you'll enjoy your clean house. I need to do some cleaning this weekend, now that I'm pretty much healed up. I was able to make the Moda Blockheads block from a few weeks ago today and I've already sewn one row of the quilt together. I'm hoping I can get the other three rows sewn together tomorrow, or if not this weekend. It will be so nice to have 4 of the 5 rows done and then I can put together that last row each week as a make a block. This is going to be a big quilt somewhere over 70x70 inches. I haven't decided on the size of my outer border yet. We had a tornado warning here yesterday afternoon. I'll have to be ready to shelter in this home in one of the bathrooms, since I don't have a basement anymore. There was an actual tornado in Maryland yesterday north of Washington DC (in Gaithersburg). Take care

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well today and having nice weather. It was in the 80s here but less humid. I went out to lunch with my DB and DSIL today, so it was nice to get out. I was able to get all 4 rows of the Moda quilt sewn together and I'm happy with how it's looking. Now I'll be able to make the last 5 blocks over the next few weeks and sew them together as I go. I also hope I can get the inner and outer border strips cut and sewn together too, so it will be quick to finish this quilt top. I'm hoping to work on the Temperature quilt this weekend, if I'm in the mood. Take care and have a good weekend
