Good morning all! I'm off work today, but I have to head out for an echo/ultrasound thing. Doc called it a "20,000 mile check up" a year after my little blockage last summer. Also have to pick up a refill on Irene's medicine while I'm out. This is DH's first day of retirement but he has to go back to to the university to return some keys. There's a yoga class at 5:30 that I might go to.

Morning Maryenne and those to follow.
Good luck on the echo/u/s.
Congrats on DHs first day of retirement!
I posted my intro late last night on yesterday's thread if anyone is interested.
This morning is the first day of my vacation between jobs. I invited someone for coffee at 8 but realize it's too long for me to wait for my caffeine fix, so, I'll be a buzzin' around 9!
Have a great day, everyone!

Good morning all,
Today is my day off. I have errands to run, and I'll make a trip to Amvets to drop off a bag of 'stuff' I no longer use. Heading out for my morning walk.
Have a great day.

Good Morning -- trying to figure out this ProBoard thing. I mostly read posts and rarely comment. I am 71, still working full time, and enjoy reading what others are doing about retiring or not.
Have a wonderful day.

Just wanted to mention to the new folks that when I say something about Irene or Lucille, those are my rescued Maine Coon-mix kitties. Irene has a chronic illness (hypoparathyroidism/hypocalcemia) and has to have medicine twice a day for the rest of her life. It has been the saga of my life since March.

Maryenne- I love Maine Coons- they're the Newfies of the cat world.
Sorry about the chronic illness. It's good that it can be treated. It's tough having a sick pet.
Max is my tuxedo kitty, Izzy is my current Newf ( I've had 4 others and am getting a pup this fall). Izzy has bone cancer, diagnosed in May, but is doing well on minor pain meds daily. Pannie is the Amazon, and Frank is the cockatiel.

Good morning! I don't think I have ever posted to this group back on the WW board. I am a second grade teacher and 61 years old. I plan on teaching until I am 70, and might continue after that age. I am looking forward to sharing here and keeping up with all of your posts.
I am going to walk today and go to a favorite local bar downtown for lunch. A very talented guartist plays jazz from 11-1 on Fridays. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning all,
Let me introduce myself to e thread's new friends...I retired from full time high school teaching in 2009 then taught part-time at our community college for three years. Over the last year and a half my health has been a full time job. Now I can proudly say I have survived a stem cell transplant, my multiple myeloma is in total remission and my hair has now been trimmed once and is about an inch all over. I will be mowing the yard for the third time today!! That is probably more info than was needed.
I made cherry scones for breakfast this morning.....total yum! We don't have anything on our calendar for the next four days so I may have to look for some mischief after the yard gets done. This week has been soooo busy that I told DH we just might get bored this weekend.
Wishing everyone a sunny bright day!! Peg

Good morning everyone
I just finished my PT exercises and it is tempting to lie down for a while. However I have not taken Bonita( therapy dog) to the Alzheimer's unit for 3 weeks so I think we will go today.
I am going to Treaty Day tomorrow celebrating a treaty between MicMac Indians and colonists 300 years ago. My grandchildren are part MicMac and really into these celebrations. My DGD is away studying in Japan this term so she will miss it this year.
Have a good weekend

Good Morning. Another day off for me. I work 4 days a week: Saturday -Tuesday, so I'm out of sync with a lot of people on "weekends."
No big plans for the day; it's going to be hot, so we will probably stay close to home. I have some closets and files to clear out, so today is a good day for that. I'll probably spend too much time on message boards, until I get the hang of it here.

Michelynn, I copied this from Sarasota's post on the general thread:
This is how you upload an avatar, hope it helps!
*Click on profile on the top blue section *Click avatar on the white tabs *Click on edit profile *For your own photos click on "use only the uploaded/linked" *Then on the right where it says "link your own avatar image" click on upload/link *Select image (And then I just tried to see which picture it would except and used that one) *Then click "save avatar changes" and you're done!

Good morning, all. I've been enjoying a wonderful visit with Great nieces & nephews. My workshop starts this evening & I'm looking forward to it. Two days ago I injured my toe badly which may impede my folk dancing!

Good morning everyone! I also posted on the old WW thread, so not anything new to add from there.
Joan and Esther, it sounds like you both have really fun weekends planned, especially with folk dancing involved.
Looking forward to getting to know all our new friends. This is such a good group of smart, talented people.
Waving hello to all!

I made it to Friday. I have a screaming headache that I an attributing to the stress from this week. Fiscal year end has not gone well. DH had shoulder surgery so my live-in maid/cook is out of commission for a few weeks. Just not liking this. Hoping next week is better. I have a girl's weekend for my birthday with BFF.
