Good morning dear friends,
Well it is Saturday and we are actually ready to make a trip to Goodwill. Everything is now on the main floor (DH didn't help with that at all, I don't understand). It was very irritating. I think I need to talk to him about it, time for a heart to heart. Anyway with that ready I will be able to put the "keeping" stuff back in the closet. That will then give me a couple of weeks to get my craft room sorted and purged. I know there are some things in that closet that I will have to sneak out of the house for trash. My goal will be to get that whole room finished before we go to DD's house the first weekend of Feb. I would love to have the kitchen purged before then too.
it appears that the ice is going to stay just south of us today but maybe not tomorrow. What is everyone up to this weekend?? It sounds like everyone could use some good rest time this weekend.

Good morning friends! I took two bags of clothes, two recycling containers and two boxes of books to their assorted bins at the transfer station yesterday. I have a box of "treasures" for the art department at the high school where I used to work. They are always looking for textured paper, fabric scraps, basically leftovers from craft projects. I will drop those off this week. Today we are going to the state robotics championships to cheer on our grandsons' teams. It will be a nice drive to a beautiful bayside campus of Roger Williams Iniversity. Tonight we will watch the Patriots play and have dinner in front of the fireplace. Peg, you have done a great job of decluttering and downsizing. I am sorry DH is not pitching in. I know when I do that it is a double-edged sword since he looks over everything and takes out stuff. Of course I usually wait for the opportunity to retrieve the stuff later and get rid of it. Just makes the process a bit longer. Have a great day! Lynn

Oh I envy you gals who are decluttering and purging. I have way too much stuff for someone who has moved around all their adult life. This is my 10th house - been here 13 years though. My physical body won't do the heavy decluttering due to the compression fractures I have had and the risk of more. But, even that is a bit of an excuse. I find that working full time uses most of my stamina and I just don't have the drive to do the home stuff like I used to. One town we lived in had "rent a wrestler" from the community college. I could use some of those boys now!
Glad I did what purging I did a few years ago and I have loaded up my car with old family items and taken some to my son -- they can clutter up his basement!
Our ice storm is still headed this way - now they are saying late afternoon and overnight. Some areas of the state have been hit pretty good already but Topeka has not. The grocery stores were pretty well emptied out - I stopped after work and I noticed that the items that were gone were bread, milk, potatoes and bananas. On Friday this store smokes meats and I wanted some smoked chicken so that is what I bought along with a sweet potato. Have plenty of food around. This morning I am making an old Weight Watchers recipe for beer cheese soup. I would call it semi-homemade - I have my homemade chicken stock but then it adds a can of the reduced fat cream of chicken and a can of rf cream of celery plus several cups of fresh diced vegetables. Tasty and not as heavy as restaurant cheese soup.
I have my semi-annual meeting with my financial advisor coming up this week so I just reviewed the last meeting and read through the goals I set then. Did very well on those goals - now if I could buckle down and do my fitness and weight goals!
Hope you all have a nice weekend - I have laundry going and dishwasher running. Will think about a nap for afternoon!

Good morning my friends and a double hello to Janice I stayed up until 1 or so watching something or other on tv. I think the Mucinex kept me awake. DH brought me coffee at 10 a.m.! I didn't tell you that week before last a sinkhole formed down in the bottom of our front yard. Our front yard is really an old pasture about 1 1/2 acres, so it isn't endangering the house, but still worrisome because of trees nearby. So DH has had two dump truck loads of rock brought in and still another one is needed. That one will come Monday. $430 so far. But it caused some neighborhood excitement. I'm slowly dealing with the detritus from my trip. Yesterday I washed all my dirty clothes. This morning I took everything else out of the suitcases. Now I need to go through sweaters and things that can't be laundered. I hope you all stay warm and careful with the ice! Maryenne
