Good morning,
Joyce, I am so sorry that your Mom isn't getting relief for her pain. I do hope relieve comes soon for you and your mother.
Lynn, that cook book club sounds fun! Does each person make something to bring?
Janice, hope your appointments went well yesterday. Sounds like you had a self-care day.
Peg, it would be great if your trip to Florida will coincide with one of my trips! When will you be traveling?
I had a very productive day at work yesterday. I'm so behind on things from being out for that week to DC and then Monday. But I caught up a teeny bit. I am flying out to San Diego Feb 20 to give two long presentations and I am struggling with how to fill the 90 minute timeslot.
Yoga tonight!
Have a great day all of you.
Maryenne

Good morning friends Maryenne, each person brings a dish from that month's book to the meeting. It is essentially a pot luck of dishes from the current cookbook. Always a good time with good food and good people. Peg, you must be anticipating your Florida trip! We are driving down for a couple of weeks in March. We will be visiting with friends and family along the way to my sister-in-law's in Naples. Joyce, I hope your mother will get some pain relief. Hugs and prayers to all of you. Janice, I hope your appointments went well. Esther, how exciting to have participated in the Boston march! The sun is peeking out today! DH is running some errands this morning and I am meeting my sister later. DH and I may go to see the Star Wars movie tonight. It's senior citizen day at the local theater. Have a great day! Lynn

Hi all and Happy Hump Day!
Well I am finally feeling really good this morning....the cough is finally subsiding. Hurray!!
We went to see Hidden Figures yesterday afternoon and it was excellent. It took place in the early 60's at NASA. If you haven't seen it yet I would totally recommend it. Then I cooked dinner and baked a new banana bread recipe. I found it on Allrecipes and included sour cream, "Janet's Rich Banana Bread". The reviews were all super and so was the recipe.. DH really liked it too. I used three mini loafs to aid in portion control. This way we'll have some in the freezer too.
Today is trash day so I am going to gather up some things out of my craft room. DH agreed that we pitch a quilt his Aunt gave us before she died. When we got it it was full of moth holes, torn, and beyond repair. Thank goodness, it has been stuffed up on a shelf for over a year. So I am back to decluttering. Hurray!!
Our lunch group is meeting today then I have a dr appt this afternoon and now that I can talk without coughing my head off I need to make some phone calls.
Maryenne, we will be driving to FL so we will have our own car. We plan to arrive on the 16th and leave on the 28th. Keep me posted on your travel plans.
Thinking about all of you!! We are actually going to see the sun today! Hurray!!

Good morning everyone!
Maryenne, I love San Diego. Hope you will have some time to enjoy the area while you are there.
Lynn, I agree that the cookbook club sounds like a lot of fun. Do you tell each other ahead of time which dish you will be bringing, or is it all a potluck surprise?
Peg, I have so much decluttering I need to do, and I am anxious to get started on it. I've been trying to be careful about over exerting with my back, but hoping that by next week things will be more normal and I can get some things I've been wanting to do here at home accomplished.
Esther, waving to you!
I'm very encouraged this morning. I just got off the phone with my mom. She was up and able to talk rather than being curled up in pain. She says she thinks the new schedule they are giving her pain meds is helping. Also I talked with a friend whose sister had the same surgery as my mom, and she said her sister was in pain for 6-8 weeks and then the pain went away. My mom will be 5 weeks out from surgery tomorrow so maybe she will get some more relief over time.
As for me, I am also encouraged that this last injection is really helping. Knocking on wood here, but since yesterday afternoon the pain has been a lot less. I'm trying to still rest as much as I can, but am hoping in a few days to be pain free.
Hope you each have a lovely day!

Joyce - Wishing you and your mother a pain free day.
I just had a massage to take the kinks out of my muscles from the long day in the crowds on Saturday. I am ready for a nap.
Now for some Renaissance flute music.
Maryenne - I hope you enjoy San Diego. I have never been to that part of the world.
Peg - I admire your decluttering. I need to start on that soon. I have been collecting stuff here for 17 years.

Joyce, we sign up for our dishes through the library community coordinator. She keeps a running list on line so we can see what others are bringing. I am considering a lentil salad for the next time. It sounds delicious. I will try it out before committing though. Thanks for the movie review Peg. Hidden Figures is on our list. Esther, I bet the massage felt wonderful! I love our little group here. It is like having coffee with a deer group of friends ever day! We have shared good times, bad times, sad times and have been a great source of strength for each other. I am so grateful for each of you! Lynn
