Over 60 and Still Working/Tuesday

Good morning my dear friends,

Peg, I am so sorry about your former student. But glad you're having some sunshine.

Hope everyone gets their computer issues worked out.

My flight to DC leaves at 10:45 and I'm 98% packed, so it's nice to be able to sit with my coffee for a few minutes. I arrive there around 4 and plan to have dinner with a young man who used to be a consultant in our office but was transferred to DC about a year ago. I'll text him when I get in. There are two other colleagues staying in the same hotel, so I'll ask them to join us if I see them. My meeting is all day tomorrow at the National Academies of Sciences Building. I serve on a research panel which meets once or twice a year. They provide a huge spread in our meeting room for breakfast, and free lunch passes for their cafeteria which is also amazing. They completely pay for the trip, so it's always a treat to go to these meetings.

Good morning everyone!!

Maryenne, enjoy your trip! All expense paid trips are the best, they didn't come very often to HS teachers. My best was a training trip to Park City, Utah. SInce we love the mountains anyway DH went too and we only had to pay for his personal expenses. We could offord to extend the trip a couple of days too.

I did get more trash gathered out of the craft room. I think the trash bag has about enough trash in it. Hope it won't break before we can get it downstairs and out to the curb tomorrow.

Today I am hoping to work on our taxes. I think we got the last of our works/forms came yesterday. I always like to get them done and filed before we go to FL for our winter get-away. I will let you all know if I finish them today.

Two gray days predicted for IN before the sun shines again on Thurs. Wishing everyone a great day!

Good morning everyone!

DH left early this morning for a business day trip out of town. It felt strange for me to get up to an empty house. It's been awhile since I've done that. He will be back this evening.

Got my new computer/laptop set up and going. I think I am really going to like it. It is so much faster than the old one had become, and I'm enjoying that. The only frustrating thing is that the right Shift key is further over than on my old keyboard, so I'm having to get used to that. Right now I keep hitting PgUp and moving my cursor instead of Shift, and that frustrates this old business teacher.

Going through old paperwork today and working on decluttering. My mom and dad have a mountain of it to go through, and quite a bit will need to be shredded. Just taking it slowly though as there is no rush. But it will feel good when the project is finally completed.
