Good morning all. We are meeting today with the real estate agent handling late DFiL's property. Then off to do grocery shopping. I am trying a lentil salad that I want to bring to cookbook club at the end of the month. Have a great day. I may be back later. Lynn

Hi all,
Taxes are done!! I didn't submit them as I want to wait until next week to make sure we have everything and that I didn't forget anything. We will be getting a nice refund but it did seem to take longer than usual. Oh well, I earned my keep with the refund!!
Today I have a blood draw then our usual lunch group is meeting at Pizza Hut. More trash will go out later this morning. The bag I have for this week weighs a ton. I told DH he may want to use the wheel barrow to get it down to the curb. LOL!! He even has a box of trash too. HURRAY!!
Lynn, I am getting back on track with steps. How have you been doing over the winter?? Did WW make many if any changes for 2017??
Maryenne, hope your trip/conference is going well!
Esther, any music activities planned for the coming weekend??
Joyce, how are you doing this week?? Is your mom getting settled in??
Janice, is there a time of the year that your job is less busy than others??
Take care all, we may have a little sunshine today.
Peg

Good morning everyone!
Lynn, let us know how the lentil salad turns out.
Peg, good for you getting your taxes completed and getting a nice refund.
Taxes are something I've got to tackle soon, but I know we will be paying rather than getting a refund. Need to check and make sure we have all our paperwork, and need to get this year's software and load it on.
As for my mom and dad, my mom seemed to have the best afternoon she's had yesterday which I am pleased about. However, I had to have a very serious talk with my dad yesterday. Sometimes he can be unreasonably stubborn! He is trying to do way too much for my mom, and he is physically not able to do it. Also she needs to be learning to do some things for herself again. Yesterday the AL had a fire drill. TN has a state regulation that says in order to qualify to be in AL you have to be able to get yourself out of the building within 13 minutes in case of a fire. Well, my mom didn't do well. I think confusion, lack of vision, and lack of strength were all a part of the combination. But, my dad didn't really give her much of a chance because he started pushing her wheelchair (leaving his walker behind, of course). They did get out in time, but she didn't get herself out. The nurse in charge at the AL wants my mom to start practicing moving her legs more, even just "chair walking" in the hall in her wheelchair. My dad is adamant that she can't do that, etc., etc., etc. I tried to explain to him about the state regulation, PLUS he is not physically able, and it is not good for Mom not to do anything for herself. He stubbornly would not accept that, but he is going to have to because the only other choice is a nursing home and most likely they would not be able to be together in a NH. Sometimes I feel so frustrated! Anyway, I talked with my mom's home health PT who is seeing her twice a week, and he is going to work with her on how to get out of the building. They are actually located very close to an outside exit. Hoping my dad has settled down and is being more reasonable today.

The lentil salad is beyond delicious! Joyce, warm hugs and prayers that tomorrow will be better for your parents. It's good that you talked to the PT about your mother's need for improving her ability to move on her own. Peg, I have been increasing my steps by 10 per cent every couple of weeks. The WW plan itself has not changed much from last year other than the Smart Points increasing for foods high in sugar and fats. I have been steadily losing the past five weeks. I limit my high fat and sugar items and plan everything! I have my Super Bowl meal planned and tracked already. Including a glass of wine! Have a good evening. Lynn

Good Evening!
Oh, I wish my taxes were done but it will be a couple weeks before that last 1099 come in. I use TaxAct software and have for several years. So I have entered everything I have and will finish quickly (I hope!) when the last information comes in.
Peg, you asked about my job. We are always busy - there is a cycle to it but seems we are always busy - heading into taxes now after just finishing year end reports. I do enjoy my job and the people I work with.
Tomorrow I will go to the pool early. It was closed today due to a chemical problem. The warm water always feels good and helps with stiffness and pain.
Lentil salad sounds good. I think I would enjoy a cookbook club even though I don't do much cooking anymore. Hard to get too interested in cooking for one. I took an Indian cooking class a couple years ago and that was really enjoyable.
Have a good evening.

We had a nice rehearsal at baroque ensemble today. This afternoon I had an interview with the town manager for the town council on aging. I hope that turns out well. This weekend I have Renaissance flute workshop and School of Honk street band rehearsal.
