Good morning friends,
Joyce, my mother who was from southeastern Alabama loved to crumble up cornbread into buttermilk. And, Janice, my grandmother used to make something she called milk toast which sounds similar. Peg, hope you are enjoying your drive to Omaha! Lynn, sounds like you're all set up and ready to go! Esther, hope all is well with you.
I have a busy day at work today, with meetings on top of meetings. Literally, I scheduled an all day work session with one of my consultants, and have to duck in and out for other meetings.
My trip to DC was great - one of my colleagues and I walked to the White House to see if there were any demonstrations (there weren't) and it was quite a long walk, longer than we expected. We also peeked into the National Portrait Gallery and a very tall man portraying Abraham Lincoln was there so we took pics with him. Flights to and from DC were on time and the weather was very nice.
This weekend there are several activities in town including an interfaith prayer vigil on Sunday. I also want to get our taxes done.
Hope you all have a great Friday!
Maryenne

Good morning!
Maryenne, so glad you enjoyed your trip to DC. There is so much to see there!
Nothing special on my agenda for the day--just running a few errands, checking on my parents, etc. I did get this tax year's software bought, but haven't installed it yet. One thing I need to do is go through all our documents and make sure I have everything, and then just set down and get them done. I know we'll have to pay, but it would be good to know how much.
Waving to everyone and wishing you all a lovely day. Hope you are looking forward to a good weekend. I know Peg will enjoy the weekend with her daughter and family.

Good morning all, Janice, several women in the cookbook club live alone. They have said that they love the opportunity to cook for more than a single serving. Many of us bring containers to bring home servings that we may not have tried at the meeting. Peg, safe travels. Maryenne, hopefully you won't have any meetings for a while after today. And it's Friday! What type of research conference did you go to? Esther, your music adventures sound like fun. Joyce, it sounds like things have settled a bit with your parents. It's amazing how we come to appreciate the smallest things and realize they are the biggest things. Virtual hugs to you and your family. The Patriots are off to another Super Bowl! We will stay home for the game because DH will be watching the game closely and does not want to be distracted by chatter and food! The only way he will leave the house during the game is if the televisions were to all break down! I watch for the commercials and half time show, although I have slowly started to understand the game. We are off to run some errands this morning. I have to get a new wireless mouse for my computer. It's a two in one, separates into a tablet. It is very thin and does not have the traditional USB ports. Oh, how far we have come from my first home computer, an Apple IIE! Have a great day! Lynn

Hello everyone
We had an enjoyable Renaissance flute workshop this morning. She didn't stick to the planned pieces that I practiced, but I liked what we did play. There is a call for musicians for a rally on Sunday afternoon for immigrants. I am planning to go if the event is confirmed.
I still need to get my laptop back in working order after having the hard drive wiped. I am not sure how to get everything working again.
Have a good weekend all.
