Good morning. We're both some better than yesterday. My fever broke sometime yesterday afternoon and I haven't had one since. DH got an inhaler for the wheezing he has in his chest. We're both still coughing and hacking.
Sorry to those of you getting snow/blizzards. Waving to all. HAGD

Hi, My computer froze mid sentence on my last post. I didn't even know it posted.
Cathy, I was going to say that the tree is an "attractive nuisance" and once you have notified the people in charge of the tree they need to be responsible. You may want to write a letter and send it with proof of delivery. Phone calls are nice but you will want documentation just in case. I wouldn't worry too much about the neighbors, considerate people will tell their children not to play there once they find out it is a problem.
Rode outside some yesterday. Had company in the indoor part of the ride so I got to jump around a little. The outdoor arena has zero jumps right now they are put away until spring. Also took advantage of the warm temp. in the barn to organize my tack locker. I wish we did not have such abrupt changes in the weather. I worry about colic.
The office is open today we are just starting later. DH is out right now with the snow blower. I washed my barn coat because it is the best snow coat and I didn't want to smell like horse out in the non horse world. HA!
Doing well with tracking. Have to pack my lunch.

HI again - starting to come down heavier -I got the shed cleaned - put Penny's heavy blanket on -threw hay in the shed -where upon both horses decided outside was better -brushed off the snow from her blanket & hope they wise up at some point & go inside -this blanket is pretty good on waterproofing but still I worry (!). Faye you are correct there are so many "things' for them -over the years I have collected quite a bit -as I've said here -Penny has 2 sheets, 2 medium blankets, 2 heavy & one fleece liner! that way I can swap when one gets too wet on the outside. But then again I may be a bit OCD about this!
Beth hope you & DH are on the mend. Libby -glad you took that ride -looked like fun (and no one will tell your guys!)
Oh- 2 pieces of my Valentine's glass are on the cover of the weekly entertainment supplement of our local paper - along with 3 mentions of my work & the art reception this Saturday!
Going to put up a pot of my carrot soup - stay dry & warm!

Hi, all! Faye, glad you got your storm shopping done and your DH is better. Sounds like an awesome lesson! My harp teacher and I are going to try skyping next week (she's on her way to FL to visit dad). Barb, we didn't have snow to contend with so I think I had a light sheet, a Baker for cold weather and one of those New Zealand rugs for rain. That was it...pretty basic. Congrats on getting the catalog cover! Amy, glad you got some riding in...are you also going to get the heavy snow that Faye and Barb are going to get? Beth, glad the fever broke and you are both feeling a bit better. The cough will probably hand on quite a while Try a humidifier at night, I find it helps the irritation. Dutch, I can't imagine a world where 45 degrees feels warm I was going to try and find a picture of this place when I first bought it and how the landscaping looked, because right now it's downright sad. The rain is supposed to start again later this morning and go through tomorrow. The roads crew is still working on the mudslide from Tuesday. Apparently it's one of those situations where you move dirt and more dirt moves in to take it's place. They may have this one-lane road both directions through the weekend until Monday, barring any more mudslides. I'm supposed to go hiking on Saturday with friends over the hill; probably won't go if the traffic lanes are still affected. Too much hassle... May try to swim today unless it's a downpour. Will find something else to do, maybe use the gym? Bleh. Cathy

CATHY-good luck skyping. curious how that will go. mudslides sound scary saw your post, very scary lost of cars here sliding in NY . one Expressway was partially shut down. have fun at the gym if you go, do you take a class or just use the equipment? BETH-glad your fever broke. hope you and DH feel better. BARB-congrats on the publicity. your plates etc are beautiful. just curious, can you do a harp? Maybe a necklace? or a pin. for some reason no one does pins anymore. Does Tundra like the snow?? Does Penny roll in it? AMY-glad you are doing well with tracking. I have good and bad days. right now bored and home so guess what kind of day this is.
waving to all. HAGD. at least it stopped snowing so now just waiting to have the driveway plowed. Streets look ok. hope tomorrow isn't icy. I have somewhere to go.

Hi
WI this morning Down a little over a lb. so I am still on a roll. Journaling is still helping, I think because it is keeping me mindful. Before the journal I would get all motivated at the meeting and then slowly lose the motivation over the week. I think I am finally down to what I was before the holidays so if I can lose a pound this week I am into new territory.
It is very cold today so I am going to ride tomorrow instead. The snow is pretty and the roads are clear and mostly dry. Lukas was body clipped in early fall but I never did a touch up so he is pretty fuzzy but maybe not his full on natural coat. He is in his heavy with a neck cover so that is fine. The farm is pretty windy so really the wind blocking is the most important part. He and mini donkey also have a run in shed.
If I am going to the gym for class I need to get ready. I will stop back later.

Good morning. I think we're finally on the mend. DH actually got some sleep last night. When he sleeps I get to sleep lol. Both of us has lost wt this week as neither of us had much of an appetite. I know that's not the way to lose wt but I'll take it anyway.
Amy-don't blame you for not wanting to ride when it's that cold.
Barb-maybe you need to do a lot of harp stuff and then go vend the conference Faye goes to. Just a thought.
Cathy-pictures of yard damage is worth more than words.
Dutch-have you started packing for your trip yet?
Libby-sounds like you're having fun in AZ.
Faye-do you still have that new carpet smell?

Hi horse lovers, Well they made us move condo's! Ugh, instead of a beautiful view of the mtn, I have a 1/2 view of far away mountains and the rest a parking to for a college! they had the sidewalk blowers going at 6:30 this morning. I was pretty spoiled with the other spot! I;m going for a hike this morning, if I can find a trailhead, or I'll just walk over to the other spot (I was right on the trailhead)instead of peaceful mountains, I have traffic noise- I guess I'll call 1-800-whah and get over it! lol It was fun riding, paid 40$ for a 1 hour trail ride, the horse was a sweet dark bay draft cross, study footed. Yesterday had fun with friends in Florence, went to the prison there, they have a mustang taming program there. The imates handle the horses for the first time, the horses come in wild from all a variety of places and States. They were beautiful! The nice lady there let us go look at the ones that were brought in for adoption. We fell in love with a tall black mare with a heart shaped star. They wouldn't come near us, but were curious, you could tell they haven't been handled much. There must have been about 20 in the paddocks and at least 100 out in the pastures. The ones in the paddocks looked well fed and there feet were trimmed. They also had cute burro's one let us pet him, the others were too scared. We weren't even suppose to be on the property, so as I said, the gal was pretty nice to let us in. DH kept talking about the black horse even after we left lol - he loves horses! Lucky me Beth; I'm so sorry you and dh have been ill, sounds like your on the mend! Cathy; hope the manager can help you get the tree/yard thing settled Faye; We decided to go to the museum next trip (I'm coming back march 20 till April 6th) If I can get dh to come home! Barb; wow, you have had a lot of snow! and yeah about the publicity! Dutch; glad your using matts, they help a lot! I've got them in the paddocks also. HAGD, we are pool sitting today

HI gang - Libby - $40 for an hour ride is really good (you should go again!) Maybe you should take that little black mare home with you!
So we got approx 10-12" yesterday -but it was light fluffy snow (hehe) It was very windy over night & even now -one of the the strips from the shed blew up & go stuck on the roof so snow was able to blow into the shed a bit. While we were out cleaning this morning -after Penny made a snow angel -both horses started running & bucking all around -it was really fun to see -good for them to get a bit of crazy out- farrier is coming this afternoon!
Faye- did I miss something -where are you going in March -nice long trip -hope it's somewhere warm!
Cathy -sounds like you are working the issue -go swim you'll feel better!
Amy - have a good ride
Dutch -where are you off to? Who takes care of Allie when you are gone?
Beth -sleep is good -sometimes when one of us is really sick I will grab a blanket & sleep in the living room on the recliner -since I nap there all the time (during TV at night!) I know it's comfy!
More snow predicted for tomorrow (2-3") it's hard enough to get people to the art gallery in good weather...... and then more again Sunday night to Monday (3-4") Yikes -enough already!
Off to meet the farrier -HAGD - stay warm

Hi, all! Faye, I had one of those days yesterday, where you're shut in w/o enough to do, except eat? It just poured all day so didn't go out. I just wasn't feeling it Beth, glad you're getting sleep...that's the next big step to recovery! Barb, yeah, harp stuff! I used to wear pins, now only have one that I wear, Scottish thistle. I've seen those vendors at Faye's conf...it's ALL harp stuff, which seems a little too subject-centric for you. I like how varied your work is! Amy, yay on the continued WL, glad the journalling is helping. I guess some ponies grow second coats after being clipped. Do you have to clip a second time? Libby, glad you got to see the mustangs but bummer about having to switch rooms. I know what that's like, we had to do that the first time I ever went to Hawaii. Got a free dinner out of it and they did move everything for us, but it's a hassle to pack, go get a new key, unpack, yada yada yada. Hope you get in another hike...I'm living vicariously through you Hi to Dutch! Seriously...it just poured from around 11am all the way to my bedtime. There was actually a construction worker killed yesterday on the mudslide. Young man with a family...just so sad. I think most of the folks here are ready for the rains to be done It was supposed to rain today but the weather app is just showing cloudy. I can swim in cloudy! Cathy

Hi All, I didn't like the class offered at the gym today so I did the treadmill in the cardio-cinema. They were playing the movie "Valentines Day". Looked cute, helped to pass the time but I was only in there about 25 min.
Barb- snow can be beautiful and annoying at the same time. So great about your art on the cover but sorry if the show is not well attended due to the weather.
Cathy- It is though when you don't feel like doing anything. I hope your lawn trouble is resolved without too much trouble. Don't let people make you feel bad about wanting a peaceful home environment. The kids can play in their own yards and it is good for them to learn to respect other people in the community. It is not all about them no matter how much their parents wish it.
Faye- I have some pins that I love, they seem to come in and out of fashion. People were buying a lot of pins in the 1980's when I worked retail. I have some from my Mom and Grandmothers that I still wear sometimes.

CATHY- I saw about the construction worker killed trying to clear the mudslide. very sad. Yes, staying in on a rainy day is not condusive to dieting. I also think I'll do a fast but that good intention goes away (FAST!) BARB-I'm not going anywhere in March. I can picture a Penny snow angel. and then kicking up her heels. cute. I do have a harp show in March, but that's about it. we may get some more snow too. we got about 10 inches and it was soft. streets are clear. LIBBY-so sorry you had to change rooms. the horse sounds nice. sounds interesting and a good idea for prisons to work with animals. Did they say if it's been beneficial or how long they've been doing it? BETH-so glad you and DH are on the mend and getting rest. Carpet never really smelled. I aired out the rooms the first day for about 30 min and that was about it. slight and I mean very slight smell first few days and that was it. I was pleasantly surprised. you're losing weight reminds me of the line in "the Devil wears Prada"--..."I'm just one stomach flu away from my ideal weight"! always makes me laugh. AMY-congrats on journaling and another week down. good job. smart not to ride if too cold. DUTCH-waving. how's the weather. hope it's drying out
had a facial this AM. that was nice. yoga later. CATHY will appreciate this: heard music at 2AM, --I go inside and it was a popped harp string. i must have missed the "pop" but heard it brush against the strings. Changing weather and pressure can do that. Changed it the morning and so far it's holding pitch and seems ok. hope I don't lose anymore. Last year I popped a few with the weather.
waving to all. HAGD

just stopping in -farrier visit went well -Penny's feet looking good -farrier can now lift both hind feet -trim both frogs & trim/file both hind hoofs -it only took 3 years! Then took Tundra to the park - she had such a good time running & leaping thru the snow -playing with her friends -she's now fast asleep in her crate -on her back -legs in the air!
Good nite all

Well, I tried to go swimming. Got in the car, wondered why the windshield was wet as it was in the garage, backed out and found water dripping from the plywood that's the floor to a storage area in the garage. Climbed up and found more water, coming from the wall, same place the leak was when I had the kitchen redone. Sigh...moved the car, called the HOA, got some plumber names, and someone is coming out tomorrow afternoon. Called insurance and got a claim started. Unplugged the garage door opener since the water is dripping on that. Won't know until tomorrow how $$$ this is going to be.
Only got to the market and pet food store (can't let the cat starve after all). Will try to walk tomorrow morning in the hood. Need exercise!!

Good Morning Saturday! Libby - sounds like you are having a blast! We here in the NE are living vicariously thru your trip! Woke up to another 2-3" of snow on the deck (and everywhere else!) heading out to shovel it off (again) so Tundra can go down the stairs (spoiled dog) Then off to art gallery for artist reception -it is in such an out of the way spot -it's hard enough to get people in when weather is good -not sure what today will bring. AND they are predicting another n'oreasterner for Sunday night into Monday -8-10" more! Enough already!!!
Cathy - Yikes - this has not been a good week for you at the condo -make sure you get all the water up to avoid mold forming (ex-insurance agent talking!) Good luck
Waving to the rest of the gang -ride if you can- stay safe & warm - HAGD -

Hi All, I keep losing posts so I am going to start using the comment section under people's posts more. It is frustrating to type out a compilation of personal messages to people and then in the end not be able to post.
DS Birthday dinner last night at Outback Steakhouse. I planned my day and even had a slice of the chocolate cake back at the house. Felt like a victory for me. DS actual birthday is Sunday but he is going out with friends.
I have started my rug hook project. I ended up not marking the canvas and I am following the chart. Some people have asked me what I am going to do with the rug when I am done and I have no idea really. It is the activity I wanted more then the actual rug. I don't have the desire to snack in front of the TV if I have the rug to work on.

Good morning.
Libby-I know what you mean about the birds. It's mostly a beautiful noise. Have fun in Scottsdale.
Amy-I've had Google Chrome freeze up on me on this board. What did you eat at Outback?
Cathy-You have had a week. Maybe next week will be better.
Barb-I can just imagine Tundra playing at the park in the snow with her friends.
Dutch-are you limited to how many bags/suitcases you can take on your trip? A month isn't that far away. Now this is your side of the family correct? I envy you getting to go.
Faye-glad the carpet didn't smell much and for too long. I don't really like that new carpet smell myself.
The migrating birds are really eating at the bird feeders now. I love watching all the interactions between them. HAGD

BARB-hope people show up. I don't think we are supposed to get snow tomorrow but I better check the weather. LIBBY-enjoy Scottsdale BETH-with change of weather and/or humidity strings will break. I have a full set of back up strings for each harp. Hope you and DH are feeling better AMY-good job on eating out. you seem to be on a good streak. not me. need to get back to it. I'm up and not happy about it. CATHY-hope the plumber can figure it out and it's not a big job. water can do so much damage. Always something. Sorry. DUTCH-i forget where you are going.

Hi, all...plumber is pulling drywall and trying to sort out leak so just hanging out. Managed a walk/jog this morning so feel more calm Barb, good luck at the show. Hope you get some visitors! Faye, have a fun day! Beth, how are you and DH feeling? Libby, we have sunshine today!! It's SO awesome! Hope you get in a hike today. Amy, I've had posts disappear too...not sure what the issue is. Always assume it's my laptop but maybe not? Glad you did well at Outback, so well you got cake!! BTW, I caught the kid who was sticking sticks in the mud, one of them at any rate. Just asked him politely not to do that, but wonder if it had much impact. I also saw that they are destroying an azelea/rhodi (can't always tell them apart), breaking off branches, and found their cache of branches. Left it as is but took some pictures to show the board member, if they come out. The plumber had to scrape off lots of mud just to get at the water meter (all 4 are in front of my TH). Mud just everywhere because the plants aren't doing well. Next week will be an interesting week Cathy

It's a beautiful morning. Cool but not too cool. Birds are at the bird feeders. We're not going to church this morning because we don't want to cough and disturb everyone during service.
Cathy-glad you caught the kid who was doing the damage. I hope things can be resolved.

Good morning -waiting for the next round of snow to begin -they are predicting 10+ here from this afternoon until tomorrow-enough already! We are heading out to the barn in a bit- will load up hay nets for tonight & the morning & hope we can get out for lunch sometime tomorrow! DH took Tundra to park -I've been to grocery to pick up just a few things (I made the 12 or less lane!)
As I suspected the turn out yesterday as minimal -but I did sell 2 heart dishes for a grand total (ta da) of $30!!! BUT -only 2 other things sold for others & they were 2 $3 cards -so I was the "big" winner of the day. I did see that 2 of my other pieces sold earlier in the month. o well
Beth -glad you are on the mend -hope you don't hang on the the cough -some people I know have been coughing for weeks.
Libby -have fun -
Faye-are all the carpets done now? They were supposed to start on replacing our windows last week -then tomorrow and of course not now -may be a while! Then we are thinking maybe floors on the main floor at first -but the thought of moving everything scares me!
Cathy -maybe talk to the parents instead of the kids?
Amy -will you get to the barn today to ride (as I said -you are the only one of us right now -it's your duty! )
Hi to Dutch -hope Allie's feet are doing ok!

BARB-yes, carpets are done so hopefully done for a while with stuff in the house. Moving things is what stopped me for YEARS not getting carpet. actually it was good to pack up stuff and go thru stuff (a little trip down memory lane) and get rid of stuff. so very glad I did it. good luck with the windows. sorry about the show but glad you were the top seller. we have icy rain here. I'd prefer snow. I don't do ice. good luck with your snow. AMY-hope you rode. I tried knitting to keep my hands busy. dropped so many stitches It made me anxious so after about 2 sweaters I stopped. BETH-I call them brooches too. hope you continue to be on the mend. CATHY-glad you found the kid that was doing some damage. do you know the parents? DUTCH-well, thinking what you need to buy is one step closer to packing it. LIBBY-hope you are enjoying good weather. Do you come home soon? went to my wellness center open house and they got a Cadillac(pilates apparatus)-I've been wanted to use one for years and years. so she gave me a mini lesson and I'm going tomorrow for a lesson. Trying to step it up and will go to her Mondays and wt train on Tues and yoga for Friday. Will try hard to track and reel that in. had a 10 min shoulder massage and she had healthy snacks. it was fun. Practicing harp today. Friend was going to come but too icy. Waving to all HAGD
