Over 60 and Still Working/Tuesday

Good morning and happy Valentine's Day! The concert last night with Richard Thompson and the Blind Boys of Alabama was our Valentine's gift to ourselves. It was a great concert - he played a one-hour acoustic set - he is a phenomenal guitarist - and then the Blind Boys gave a rousing gospel performance. Late night though and I'm having trouble getting in gear this morning.  DH had brake work on the car yesterday and it wasn't as bad as he thought it would be, only the front brakes.

Lynn, where in Florida do you go? I'm sure you'll have good weather too. This is the absolute best time of year, I think, to come to Florida, although it might get a little cool for a day or so. Meaning 60.

Joyce, I'm glad you are able to get out more.

Good morning friends.
Maryenne, our ultimate destination is Naples, where my sister in law and husband live. We have stops on both the Atlantic and Gulf sides to see friends, so we will be just about everywhere except Orlando! 60 degrees is better than 40 and I am looking forward to 40 this weekend!
I am glad you enjoyed your concert, what a great gift to yourselves!
Today I have my WW meeting, DS and SO for lunch, we both have eye exams and card league tonight!

Joyce, getting one of the bedrooms set up will give you some piece of mind. Glad you were able to find the furniture you needed.
Esther, I started the hat yesterday. A variation on a rib for the bottom and the top is stockinette. It makes up quickly. Stay safe in this weather.

Good morning


We have cold, sunny weather. I can't yet dig the car out so I put snow melt all around it. I am going on the bus to an appointment this morning and I hope the snow will be soft enough to shovel by the time I get back. We have a band rehearsal tonight and I will need the car to get there.
I really need to find some neighborhood kid that wants to earn a few bucks shoveling.

Yesterday was beautiful and sunny, but it's overcast again today. I won't complain though and just remember yesterday's sunshine. The carpet cleaner should be arriving shortly. It will be good to get a guest bedroom set up again even though it won't get much use. We had planned to go to the Loveless Cafe for lunch yesterday. I think I mentioned that to you. However, my car battery was dead and DH had a lot of trouble getting it out to put in a new one. For some reason it was in a weird place in the car which was difficult to get to, so we ended up not going. Depending on what time the carpets are finished we might still go for a late lunch today. If not, there's always another day. It's good to have a flexible schedule again.
