Good morning! I'm going to spend the day focused on getting ready to go to California tomorrow. I've already put my medicines in the little day-by-day box, so I'm feeling productive The biggest issue is getting all the handouts and exercise materials into one or the other of which suitcases. I've got a small business-type case but it's so heavy with all the stuff in it that I wouldn't be able to lift it. So I'm trying to sort out how to spread those between my medium size carry-on and a large checked back. Also, I've checked the San Diego map to see if there is any public transit near the hotel. There's a trolley with a $5 day pass, so that has definite possibilities. Somebody needs to go to the store today to buy toilet paper. Mentioning no names. Peg, I just know you are having a glorious time. Esther, hope you are staying warm enough. How was the contra dance? Joyce, I hope things are still going well and that you're getting out and enjoying yourself. Janice, trust things are going well with you. Lynn, hope you enjoyed the sunshine yesterday. Happy Sunday, everyone!

Good morning everyone! Maryenne, enjoy your trip to San Diego! I know I have mentioned before that is one of my favorite places. Hope you will have plenty of time outside your conference to get out and enjoy the area. Friday morning DH and I went out of town on business for our rental properties, and got back home about 7:30 last night. Well, actually he went on business. I went just to get away and the chance to spend time with DD and family. It was a relaxing get away for me, and I really enjoyed it. Spent time with DD, DSIL, and DGKs, went to grandson's basketball game, etc. Had lovely dinner out with DH, and we looked at some more prospective properties for rental. In fact we even made an offer on one we both liked, so we'll see how that goes. Didn't do anything exciting, but it was enjoyable. I think DH enjoyed not having to travel alone as he has had to do for a long time. Just a nice change of pace. Waving at everyone who stops by later, and wishing you all a lovely day!

Good morning all. Enjoy your trip Maryenne. If you get a chance to go to the zoo, it is worth the time. Balboa Park is a nice place to walk if it is near where you are staying. Joyce, it sounds like you had a nice little getaway. How many rental properties do you have? It must keep you busy with the paperwork alone! Peg, how did the shell seeking go? Have a good time at Disney! Esther, did you make it to the contra dance? Has any of your snow and ice melted? We are having an unusually warm spell right now. 40s and 50s this week. I hope it doesn't mess with the plant cycles if we get a hard freeze. Some years I have had daffodils in bloom by now. We had to replace our water heater yesterday. Not a planned event! After I left to go to my mani-pedi I got a text from DH that there was a leak in the heater. Then he called and said he cancelled our dinner plans with friends so he and DD's SO could replace it. Of course the warranty ran out last year! The new one has an extended warranty for ten years. We took them out for dinner last night and had a great time although it was later than we usually eat. All's well that ends well. It could have happened when we were not home and there would have been extensive damage. Today DS is coming over with his family for lunch. Oldest DGS will spend the night and help DH with some home projects tomorrow. Have a great day! Lynn

Good afternoon everyone,
We were on the beach looking for shells before 11 this morning and had a lot of fun. The weather is awesome but we only found like 4 shells. They say the best time is after high tide and I didn't look it up to see when that might. Be today. Oh well.....traffic on the island was bumper to bumper as they were having both a farmer's market AND an art fair.
Maryenne, the J.N. "Ding" Darling Refuge is a national wildlife refuge so we were able to drive it's 3.5 mile road for free as they accept the senior citizen national park pass...a really nice perk. It was a very enjoyable drive.....all one-way so no concern for oncoming traffic.
We now have two days with nothing planned as DH's cousins that we were to see tomorrow evening and Tuesday are sick with the flu. Time to look on the web for ideas of what to do in the area.
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!
Peg

Hello to everyone
The contra dance was in a new town for us and we got a good crowd of experienced dancers. My only problem was that my gps device stopped talking to me. I did manage to get there. I don't know how to get it talking again. I may take it to the tech help session at the library.
We went to the park this morning and the dog had a good run. Then I took her to the dogwash for a bath and manicure. By the time I got home my back was very sore so I have been lying down all afternoon. The snow is melting, but I still need cleats on my shoes to walk safely on my street. I bought daffodils today to remind myself that spring is coming soon.
Safe travels to Peg and Maryanne. Joyce I hope things are going well.
