Good morning ~
Peg, glad you made it home safe and sound! What does it mean that your house is "stacked"?
Joyce, highest hopes that your dad is continuing to improve and will be back with your mom soon. One thing that we learned with my mom is to not try to reason with her. It goes against the grain, but when she would cry and say "My parents don't know where I am", we would just say something like, "Don't you remember we left a note?" And that would satisfy her for a bit. I hope your mom is not to that stage, but we just wanted to not agitate her anymore than she already was. I know how hard it is.
Lynn, what kinds of wine do you like? This winter I've taken to sweet reisling for some reason. I used to only drink merlot or malbac or something like that.
DH made it to Orlando last night and had a nice dinner with his sister. He'll drive to Miami today for his reunion festivities. Something at the Biscayne Bay Yacht Club tonight. I had a lovely dinner last night with the two doctors and was home by 8. Today I have a very busy day - I'm on a panel to interview job candidates and the interviews have been scheduled back to back through much of the day. Five interviews today, plus I have a couple of meetings squeezed in between. It's been a very good week though and I've felt very productive.
Hugs to Janice, Esther, Joan, Cindy, and all of our virtual friends!

Good Morning.
Been a very busy week at the office but I feel like I am on schedule and accomplished a lot so that is good.
No plans for the weekend other than the usual cleaning, laundry, shopping, etc. Need to replace a couple light bulbs in a ceiling fixture so that is always a bit more of a chore - have to get the replacements first! I worked on a quilt a bit last weekend so hope to do more with that too.
Joyce, you are dealing with a lot. Hope your Dad is better and can leave hospital soon.
Have a good weekend. Anyone doing any interesting cooking these days?
Janice

Hi all,
Maryenne, I meant that wood steaks were in the ground....my keyboarding or iPad auto correct....sorry.
Yesterday they laid all of the foundation blocks. I woke up about 2:30 this morning realizing that we will actually be moving in four months and thinking of all of the things that will need to be done.....my gosh......mind boggling, especially at 2:30. LOL!!
Janice, you asked about recent cooking, well I am ready to get back to it since we have been gone for a couple of weeks. We did go to the grocery store yesterday so I am sure I will start cooking and baking again over the weekend. I know I will be making us a blueberry pie. I have a small 10-lb turkey in the freezer that I want to cook at some point over the next couple of weeks.
Question Maryenne, I bought a bag of pecans at Ellis Brothers and noticed that the bag has their pecan pie recipe printed on it. Have you ever had it? If so any good??
As for wine, I've always preferred white wines, usually semi-dry to lightly sweet. Janice, does your Friday evening group enjoy a variety of wines?
Esther, hope you are doing OK, missing your posts!!
Joyce and Lynn, waving to you two.
Hope everyone has some fun planned for the weekend,
Peg

Good morning friends. The Lion King production was outstanding last night. The costumes were phenomenal! The singing and dancing were awesome. Janice, I made a lentil salad recently. Very easy. Lentils, chopped carrots, onions, celery, a vinaigrette dressing. My cookbook book club is using Ming Tsai's cookbooks this month. I am going to look through Simply Ming in Your Kitchen today to see what I want to try. Peg, it sounds like the new house is coming along quickly. When do you put your house on the market? Maryenne, today will pass quickly with everything you have on your plate! Joyce, thinking of you and your family. I hope your father will be back with your mother soon. As far as wine, I love Cabernet Franc for red and Sauvignon Blanc for white. But I am adventurous and love to try new wines. I would love to take a wine appreciation course. I should check into it at Johnson and Wales continuing education. They probably have one. Tonight we are going to our local high school's production of Oklahoma! I know some of the music but have never seen the show. I am looking forward to seeing it. Waving hello to Esther, Joyce and anyone I have missed. Have a great weekend. Lynn

Long post just disappeared. Very annoying. Best wishes to all, especially Joyce and her parents. I have an appointment for a cortisone shot in 3 weeks, need more patience waiting for relief.
Have a good weekend
