Good morning!
I had a very quiet weekend as I had planned. Did a few things around the house, cleaned the kitchen, caught up on laundry. I had some cherry tomatoes that were beyond eating so I cut them in half and planted them in a pot outside. We'll see if they sprout.
DH has had a wonderful time going back to his hometown, visiting old friends, driving around. He spent yesterday afternoon sitting outside with some dear friends who were our neighbors. They called me to say hello and it was wonderful for me too. He'll leave Miami today and either go over to the Gulf coast near Sarasota to visit another friend or he'll go up through Orlando and stay another night with his sister.
Hope you all have a happy Monday!

Hi Maryenne and ATF,
It sounds like you had a very peaceful weekend. I hope your work week will be the same. I didn't do much of anything toward selling/moving yesterday. We did take a drive to the new neighborhood and looked at exterior colors, garage door and styles, and DH took pictures of our foundation. It still needs electricity run for an in-floor outlet in the great room. it is supposed to rain some both today and tomorrow and they want to pour the slap on Wed. Framing is supposed to start by the end of the week. We have decided on a white raised panel rectangle design garage door with a line of mission style windows. I will email that info to our construction manager later this morning. I have to call this morning to arrange a flooring selection meeting, hopefully for Wed afternoon as DH is having a hernia repaired on Thursday.
Enough about the house, I did cook dinner last night and a small Duncan Hines box cake....wow, two days in a row....I must be sick.....LOL, just missed doing any for a couple of weeks.
Today I have to go for a blood draw and will run some errands on the way home. Moving boxes are at the top of my list.
Thinking of you all and waving!
Peg

Good morning everyone!
Maryenne, glad you enjoyed your quiet weekend and that your DH is enjoying his visit with old friends and family.
Peg, how exciting that your new house is progressing along so well! Once complete I hope you will be able to share a picture with us.
Lynn, Esther, and Janice hope the weekend was a good one for all of you.
I expect that my dad will be released from the hospital today, so my day will be spent getting him settled back into AL. He has lost a lot of strength, but as he continues to heal and with his physical therapy I think he will gain that back. While he is weak, I have seen him be much weaker and come back from it, so I am hopeful. My mom has really surprised me during all of this. Stress of any kind now usually just sends her into a tail spin, but instead of melting down as I had feared she seems to have rallied to the cause. In fact, I think being at AL by herself has these days has actually been good for her in that it has boosted her confidence and helped her realize that she is not helpless. They miss each other dreadfully, as is to be expected after 68 years together, but I have talked with my dad about the fact that he needs to allow her to be as independent as possible rather than trying to do so much for her. It is best for her, even though it is very hard to see her struggle with something not to want to just do it for her. I'm not sure if my talk with him will bear fruit or not, but he is considerably weaker right now so we will see. I do think he will regain most of the strength that he has lost as he continues to recover from the pneumonia and with physical therapy. I have seen him much worse off than this and come back from it. Of course, every time it is harder to come back and he doesn't come back quite as far.
Wishing you all a lovely day and sunshine. We have rain here.

Good morning friends. Maryenne, it sounds like both you and DH had wonderful weekends, each in your own way. Peg, happy cooking! It feels good to cook after not cooking for a while, doesn't it? Joyce, good news about your father being released from the hospital and also that your mother seems to be handling the stress well. You must be feeling some relief , too. Today I am preparing a beef stew for the slow cooker. We'll have the stew tomorrow. It always tastes better the second day, after the ingredients have had a chance to hang out together! Tonight is swordfish, spinach, brown rice and coleslaw. Not much on my plate today other than laundry and paying some bills. And a long walk. Waving to anyone I have missed. Happy Monday! Lynn

Good morning everyone
Joyce, good news about your dad.
I went to services today to say Kaddish for my dad. I still remember how beautiful his music was.
Today I am doing housework, shopping and bills. It will be good to have that all done.
Have a good Monday all.
