Good morning- BARB- how was Lion? did you get similar blinds for the new windows or was it a chance to redecorate? BETH-is DH back to singing at Church? is that every week or just certain times? AMY-glad you had a good ride. enjoy your blinds too when they come. Doing better with tracking. My nutritionist said to use Lemon aromatherapy to reduce stress (I'm a stress eater) . i think it's helping. that and finding some lower cal snack--wholly guacamole 100 cal cups and mini pretzels; and i cut my apples in half so it's like 2 snacks. I have one bet breakfast and lunch (I get up early) and then that dreaded before dinner period. DUTCH-guess you are in full swing getting ready for vacation! how's your "egg". hope all is well CATHY-hope the inspector comes soon and you can move along with the ceiling and mold. not a good situation. Enjoy the new laptop. LIBBY-so how's it feel to wake up on a Monday a lady of leisure?

Cathy-insurance is such a pain in the..... Sorry you're having to go through it. Barb-Are the windows finally put in? Amy-glad you had a good ride on Lukas.

morning all- faye -we just replaced same type of blinds just different colors. now we are starting to get quotes for flooring on main floor of house -currently carpet -thinking wood look laminate. Windows are all done except for the one they miss measured -waiting for the replacement of that one! Lion was wonderful -teary in parts -but excellent! Amazing story!
Beth -glad DH is feeling good enough to sing again - Amy - glad you had a good ride - how often do you take lessons?
Dutch -are you packed yet? LOL
Libby - you leave soon as well? How are the ponies doing in all the new arrangements?
Cathy -hope they can resolve the water issue sooner than later!
The wind has finally died down -I already went out & cleaned -took tundra to park - now going out to ride (alone) but figure looking at the forecast this may be the only day this week.

Hi horse lovers, I got a wild hair and drove down to Vancouver 2 1/2 hrs one way to the horse expo yesterday It was fun and I got to see my dgd's 3 and 9 yrs. - the best part! They loved the expo! Woke up to snow this morning. I can't remember when we've had so much snow here! There is more in the forecast also. It's warming up to the upper 40's today, so it won't be here long! Lucy was kicking the stall yesterday morning-ugh! She knocked down the electric fence tape while doing it (there to prevent kicking) I'm pretty sure she got a good shock, as the was trembling when I got to the barn and the tape was across the middle of the stall, she couldn't get out fast enough! lol may be that will teach her! No kicking this morning. If she kicks again, I think I'll just start keeping her in the run in shed/paddock on the other side of the arena. Just makes more work for me feeding! Rhoku is doing well, he was eating my boards in the paddocks, so I put electric tape up on Saturday, that is doing the trick, and started feeding him Lucy's supplements (which helped with Rosie's wood chewing). Katie hasn't signed a lease yet, she rode Rosie (lessons with Heidi) yesterday and Heidi said they had a breakthrough with her and was really excited about getting her to walk (after trotting or cantering she jigs and wants to go!). She is awesome on the trails, the arena makes her nervous! So I'm excited to take my lesson on Thursday and see what it is. I'm going to lunge her today. The training plan is ride one day, lunge the next, then a day off for the next 3 months. Barb; I bought airline tickets in January for March 20th! I didn't know my contract would be ended, or I would have gotten them for now! Prices jumped (3x)due to spring training. We had lots of wind yesterday also - glad you got new windows and blinds! Beth; glad things are getting back to normal, are you still struggling with the side effects? Dutch; glad your "egg" is better Cathy; we have our homeowners thru AAA also. I hope your getting the service you paid for now!! Amy; the hike sounds fun. What are you working on with your lesson? Faye; I'm still in my PJ's lol, going to put workout clothes on and do my 30 day shred dvd My training plan is shred one day, stretching next, riding, and resting on weekends! I did OK on tracking until yesterday. All junk food at the horse expo, I didn't do well Today is a new day! HAGD everyone!!

I keep forgetting about a new thread on Mondays! lol Good Morning Lovelies! I'm much better, thank you for your concern! Played with Ally a bit over the weekend, had a nice time. Woke up to about 2-3 inches on snow on the ground this morning, just slush on the roads. This is SO not Oregon weather! lol DS loved it... "i wanna walk on the snow..." ha

Libby -expo sounds like fun -did you buy anything you didn't need? LOL - I had a nice ride this afternoon- with all the wind we had had the past few days -i was please that there was only one big tree down -unfortunately it was near the end of a loop with no place to go around so we had to turn around & back track -Miss Penny was not amused! there were still places on the trail that had ice & snow - put those expensive winter shoes to good use!

Good Tuesday morning. We have liquid sunshine here today. I shouldn't be surprised. It was stormy 42 years ago when we got married on March 7th 1975. Hard to believe it's been that long (only by the grace of God). We'll have dinner out somewhere but haven't exactly decided where yet.

Beth- Congrats! 42 years -wow -yes there are times when one wonders how!? You know in the Jewish religion rain on a wedding is considered good luck!
And on that note -rainy here today as well -warmish -in the 40's -but wet -
Amy -sorry about losing the posts- at one time on the old site that would happen to me to the point that I would copy it before I hit send -just in case!

Hi, all! Faye, glad the downed tree wasn't too big of a deal (this is from a few days ago!). Beth, glad you're doing well. Congrats on the anniversary! Barb, so, you had a downed tree as well, just on the trail...that is a bummer. They've closed one of the horse trails in the park I hike in; downed tree and no where to go around. Libby, well, I could do 2 hours a month So...when you say "down to Vancouver", I went huh? Isn't Vancouver north of you, or is there a Vancouver, WA? How exciting that there is fun news re: Rosie for your next lesson! Amy, missing posts are a bummer! Dutch, I think I have nightmares about missing passports Must be one of the anxiety spots for me! Yes, inspector and I finally made contact; he'll be here w/in the hour so hopefully we can start to move forward with this situation. The mold makes me nervous. Not feeling the new laptop. I stream music since I sit here all day and can't get my radio station due to the mountains. But the speakers on this thing make it sounds like a tin can. And there's no bluetooth so I can't use my little wireless speaker. So...sigh...might have to buy cheap speakers. I guess this is what happens when you buy cheaper laptops? Not sure if I'll get to swim today. Days are getting longer so walking after work is an option Cathy

Got up early, did all the laundry, dishes, vacuumed, fed horses, dogs, cat! Now to workout, my stretching day. Then I think I'll go to Heidi's barn, Wild Wind Stables, and help her clean and lunge Rosie. I want to talk with her about what breakthrough she had. I guess I'll write up a lease and leave it there for Katie and see what happens- she is 16 years old. She tells me her parents will sign the lease and pay the $$ hopefully before next week as both horses are scheduled for new shoes on Tuesday. I turned Lucy and Rhoku out together yesterday as they have been doing so well. I was getting ready to take ds bowling and I heard squealing and rails clashing. I walked around the back of the house in time to see Lucy had Rhoku cornered and was kicking him repeatedly, he was trying unsuccessfully to jump the 6' rails and had his front leg stuck in a rail. I yelled at Lucy as I ran down there and she backed off and then wouldn't come to me, in the meantime Rhoku got himself out of the rail (thankfully)! I locked Lucy up once she finally let me come up to her and put Rhoku back in the barn, no one was hurt- I don't think I'll put them together anymore! I don't want vet bills! These two are trouble makers!! It's been raining and snowing all weekend and that's what's been forecasted all week. Dreaming of AZ weather!!

Libby- YIKES - gotta love mares! Glad no one was hurt -and that you do have places for them to be separated! Was it food related - or just being "a mare"? Hope you can get it running smoothly before you head to AZ

LIBBY-glad Rhoku and Lucy are ok, and yeah, i'd keep them apart. Sounds like you had a busy and productive morning CATHY-good luck with the inspector. BARB-rain here too. didn't know that saying that rain on your wedding is good luck. know any others? BETH-Happy, happy anniversary and many more! enjoy dinner. DUTCH-glad you are feeling better. AMY-how is the weather by you? able to ride or take a lesson? Do you jump oxers? i loved them. I think because it made the jump longer in time. When I was a teen there was an oxer that looked like a castle. it was blue. it was my favorite.
so hair is darker and redder . i think i like it. not sure. cut is ok but that's because the last cut or how is grew in was uneven so we are trying to even it out and get it more one length. we'll see once I wash it myself, that's the telling part., and DD comes home this weekend so will see what she thinks

Hi all,
So my main trainer's fiancé (permanent they were not getting married) died suddenly. She was in FL and he was here in PA. She flew up yesterday. I feel so sorry for her. He did not show up to work so a friend went over and had to break in to find him.
Things are supposed to keep moving on at the barn since you can't stop with animals as you know. I am going out to ride later on today and I hope she is at the barn so I can talk with her and see what I can do to help, if anything. I sent her a message yesterday. These are the times when what ever you do it does not seem like enough.

Morning- back from water aerobics-on the fence about if i like it -the water -although they say it's 84- is still too cold for me! Amy -sorry about your trainers fiance. very sad. Faye- enjoy your lesson -no shows on the horizon really until summer -a small event combined w/a shop in May for our city's "art walk" and I'm going into that pop up store next month -but my space there is very limited -a 47 x 19 display case + the top -so not much can go in. Last night my horse group showed my DVD of Harry & Snowman -if you haven't seen it it's a must -true story -& me growing up on LI during that time had always heard about him & I actually saw Harry ride at the Natl Horse show in 79 - his last time (not on Snowman!)
Weather is clearing (for today ) so will get a short walk on the trail -then cold setting in (again) possible snow on Friday
Libby hope those ponies figure it out -
Waving to Dutch & Cathy (any new paintings?)

It's confirmed, cabinets come in on the 22nd! The 18th the contractor and DBIL with start tearing down walls, ceiling on the second half of the remodel (where kitchen table will be) I flip flopped the dining and kitchen area- typical 80's kitchen were you had to walk thru the cooking area to get to the dining area. Yeah! I have a lot of work to do figuring out how to still live here while this is happening. I am leaving the 20th, yet dsil and dbil will be living here in the spare room while he is working on it. I have to set up a makeshift kitchen in living room. Lunged Rosie last night, the breakthrough that Heidi has was something that I already knew about Rosie, we are going to try and use that to build upon different signals for the walk. So, when she gets real jiggy, I sometimes rock my hips into the saddle like I'm walking on her (it takes a lot of work) and then she will slow down and take my rhythm and walk. A trainer I had years ago taught me that and Heidi had seen me do it before, so we are going to work with that and see if we can transition to a "real" walk signal lol HAGD/R everyone!

Hi all! Most of you sound well! Hugs to those that need 'em! I did hear back from Ally's sire owner as well. Stallion passed away last year - colic. He was about 15.1 - so also a little short considering dam was 14.3. Cow horse, good mind. I walked away with a ton of pictures of him and his Get. So mostly a win! I'm just thrilled to have them call me. I spoke with both of them for about an hour each! I also learned that Macho Man is in her stallion line - a well known name in Quarter Horses. So that's a genealogy win. So with that information, I'm mentally gearing up to sell her this Fall (truly was original plan). I'm ok with that, and frankly may change my mind! Time will tell. Pouring rain here yesterday and most this week... time for puddle jumping boots!

Hi, all! Faye, yeah, I'm not sure I like my hair this time. Too short and there's no layering. Mine has pretty dry ends. And like Libby, I've worked at getting the highlights to hide the grey. This new stylist wants me to go back to coloring. Bleh...hope DD approves Have a good lesson! Beth, enjoy bible study! Libby, I'm glad both horses are fine...that's pretty scary when they get their legs caught in fences. Some animals just can't live together...no big deal. I mean, we don't like all humans, right? I hope you get the leased signed and start bringing in some moolah. Amy, so sorry about trainers' fiancé...that's so terrible, that sudden loss! Barb, I must see that movie as well...I wonder if it's on Netflix? Will have to check! I hope you get in a quick ride! Dutch, that's awesome! I'm so glad you were finally able to connect to all the owners! I like those cow-minded horses, I leased one of those and enjoyed it thoroughly Inspector got here, we talked and he's sent me an estimate. Now I have to see what the adjuster thinks; this is the woman I don't work well with. I guess I'll just use email from now on since she claims she doesn't get my voicemails. I almost talked myself out of swimming yesterday, didn't feel like doing anything, but ended up going and had a good swim. Glad I went. BTW, Faye, my harp teacher sent me the email to one of her students and we're going to try and get together to play a bit. I've never had "play dates". Any words of wisdom? Cathy

CATHY-good luck with the adjuster. Fun a play date!!!! fun! do you know what you would want to play. usually best to take a look so you know what part you want and what harp part the other person will play. Does the other person have a duet book? Slow is the key! and count in. you need to play slowly to see how the parts fit together. Here it's all about listening to the other person. if they slow you slow, so you need to know how it fits. Have fun. I can message more if you have questions or know what you want to play. Oh, and if you do find you like doing it, you can each record your parts (count in and say how fast the metronome is) and so you can practice with taped parts.
BARB-sorry the pop up place is small. LIBBY-glad you are enjoying retirement. Good luck with the demolition. it will be worth it. you can manage it. DUTCH-glad you got all the info.
waving to all. HAGD
