Good morning ~ nothing much to say this morning. I had dinner out last night with consultants and ate too much, but it was good.
DH is coming home today - yay! He stopped in Lake Placid (south of Orlando) and visited with his niece for a few hours and then drove to Orlando and spent the night with his sister. The cats and I will be glad when he gets home.
Hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning
After high winds for a couple days, we had wildfires, tornadoes, and a bit of rain last evening. Had to head to the basement for a time.
Joyce hope your dad returned to AL and so glad to hear your mom did well. I am sure they are happy to be back together.
Esther - how is the back pain - hope you have found relief.
Maryenne - glad your DH had a good trip to his hometown. A couple years ago I made a trip to my hometown all by myself - first time without other family members and there is no family left there. I had such a great visit - went to the places I wanted to go, saw the people I wanted to see, etc. without concerns about others and if they were entertained, bored, etc. It was a totally different visit and one that was good for my soul!
Time to get ready for work - Maryenne, I am always interested in your retirement comments - I have no idea when I will retire and I have no idea what I will do when I do retire. I am afraid I will just crawl into a recliner and not do anything! I have done all the volunteer work I care to do! The total university does allow seniors to audit classes free so that might be an option.
Greetings to everyone and hope you all have a good day.
Janice

Good morning everyone! My dad was released from the hospital yesterday afternoon and is back at AL with my mom. He was so happy to be back, and she was equally happy to have him there. I'm glad to try and get back to some normalcy. Still tired so plan to not do much today other than check on my mom and dad and rest. I do need to do some laundry though. Maryenne, I know you will be glad to have your DH back home with you. It's kind of nice to have some solitude for awhile, but then it can begin to get lonely. Janice, sounds like you had some strange weather. Glad all went well for you. You will know when the right time for your retirement comes, and will find that it's not as hard to fill the days as one might think. Esther, Lynne, and Peg waving at all of you. I haven't kept up with the thread recently, but hope all is going well for each of you. Have a great day!

Good morning everyone,
Well yesterday was a productive day and I actually packed two boxes for moving with stuff from my craft room and that was a really rewarding feeling. Our real estate agent would like to post our house a week earlier than I had thought so now it will be more of a push to get ready....maybe four weeks instead of five.....it will obviously depend on whether we are ready or not. Today we will meet with the vendor for the front door, house siding, shingles, etc., should be fun! That is this afternoon so this morning I want to work in my craft room some more, arranging for showing, etc.
That does it for me today.
Joyce, it was good to read that your folks are back together. Time for you to revive yourself and do something just for you.
Esther, how is your pain? Two weeks until you get a shot?
Lynn, have you decided on the recipe you will fix for your next cookbook club?
Janice, our local community college used to offer free classes or at least almost free classes for seniors but I think they dropped it. I always thought that would be fun too.
Maryenne, I totally agree with Joyce, you will know when you are ready to retire. We've said that here many times before. Enjoy having your DH home tonight.
Wishing everyone a sunny day.....cloudy here so I will have to shine extra bright, here's hoping! LOL

Two weeks to wait for the cortisone shot. I hope it helps even temporarily.
I decided I have to keep moving no matter what so I took the dog for a decent walk today, then went grocery shopping and put in a load of laundry. I will be glad to have those things done. This afternoon I am helping a friend with her tax return. She does not understand why she can't pay me now that I am retired. It is a relief not to be in the tax season madness this year.
Joyce - So good that your dad is out of the hospital. I hope he and your mother have a period of quiet in their lives.
Peg - Good luck with the packing. I am thinking of moving, but dread packing up all my stuff. Maybe I have too much of it.
Janice - I hope your weather calms down. That's a little too much excitement.
My printer quit working on me. Very annoying. I don't know if I can get it to work again. So far none of the support suggestions have worked. It is quite old so I can't complain if it is worn out.
Have a good day everyone

Good afternoon friends. We have had another change in our Florida trip plans. DH spoke to his sister yesterday and the prognosis for her DH is better than anticipated. Scans are clear and they want us to come for a visit. We are leaving next week. We won't be making as many stops on the way down. I had to cancel my participation in the cookbook club this month due to being out of town. We are giving our tickets to 42nd Street to DS. DH is changing a routine dental appointment. We should be gone for about two weeks. Today I went to WW, down 2 pounds! Then I spent the morning running errands and ended with a half hour walk in a light drizzle. Dinner is made, beef stew. Just needs to be reheated tonight. We have our cars league tonight. Maryenne, I hope you and the cats have a great homecoming with DH. Peg, Good luck with choosing the building materials! Joyce, I am glad that your father is out of the hospital. Janice, scary weather situation in your neck of the woods! You will know when it is time to retire. And you will be pleasantly surprised at the things you will do with your time. Esther, glad that the weather has improved and that you are able to walk the dog for longer periods of time. I hope you can get some relief from your upcoming cortisone shot. Have a great day everyone. Lynn
