Good morning all - brrrrr! Even here in Florida, we're cold. Hope you all are staying warm and safe.
Nothing much here to report. We found out that my last remaining first cousin on my mother's side was killed in a car accident. He was 82 and no one is sure why he was driving where he was, but apparently hit a telephone pole. The visitation and graveside ceremony are Friday afternoon. I had not seen him in a number of years. My car will be at the dealer that day for a recall fix, so DH is going to pick me up and go with me to the service.
I have one little meeting today and then yoga after work. DH is very excited about his new old tractor. It's a 1974 Cub, it basically seems to mow and pull the little trailer around the property. He has another tractor one year older that was his fathers, and apparently takes the same parts. That tractor doesn't have a mowing attachment, but has a front loader, so he can use them both around the place.
Hope you all stay bundled up and take care.

Cold and wintery in Kansas but by the weekend we should be back to warmer weather. Snowed all morning yesterday but most of it melted. My pot of pansies seem to be surviving.
1974 Cub - I remember when my dad bought a Cub, probably early 50s, when he stopped farming with horses. I remember it had a big mower blade that dropped out to the side of the tractor and a snow plow for the front. My first driving was a tractor.
Will be a busy day - full moon really hit this month. We had a client death late yesterday and two entered hospice care. Today will be funeral arrangements, care facility visits, and suchlike. Part of working in elder care law. And the tax work continues!
Had take out shrimp and veggies yesterday. Will finish it tonight. Have a salad and fruit packed for lunch today. I am holding steady on weight but really should concentrate on loosing -- I lost a lot of height last year when I had compression fractures and when the spine got shorter, even though I lost some weight, I became rounder from the change in body shape. Very discouraging!
Hope you all have a good day and stay warm.
Janice

Good morning to all!
Maryenne, sorry to hear about your cousin.
Lynn and Esther, how much snow did you both get yesterday??
Janice, are you far enough west to be warm??
Joyce, you haven't posted for a few days, hope all is OK??
Well my Dr appt yesterday went really well. I get to cut two meds back which makes me really happy. If that holds then I will ask in another three months about having my port removed. That would be worth a real celebration. After that we had an appt to select our new master closet system. We went pretty basic and yet we are getting same drawers, more shelves, double racks and a full length section. It wasn't as expensive as I thought it could have been.
My house cleaning ladies will be here in about an hour. I have a blood draw this morning and will run some errands. This afternoon we have an appt to select flooring, carpet, etc. We drove by the house yesterday and it looks like they are almost ready for the roof tresses. All of this is exciting, fun, and yet scary.
Hope everyone stays warm today, our wind chill is 6 degrees this morning.
Peg

Hello my friends
We had about 10 inches of snow yesterday. It is cold here so nothing is melting. We didn't get much shoveling done since the snow is wet and heavy. I was negotiating online to hire someone with a snow blower, but he wanted $400 to clear our area and that sounds like highway robbery to me. I am talking online to another guy who says he doesn't want any money, but will help out. I am confused. We would be happy to pay a reasonable amount for some help. I am going out with an ice chopper in a few minutes and see how bad it is. Everything I had scheduled for today and tomorrow has been cancelled so I have time to hack at it. My car is still in my neighbor's driveway and I want to move it in case she needs to get out.
I have a window that is open on top and I can't get it to close. I don't know how that happened or how to fix it. I need to import some young muscles like my grandson.
Stay warm everyone
I hope everything is OK with Joyce's family.
I had a conversation with the director of the summer music program. I would have to send a recording of my playing and would only get into one class per day if I was accepted. They want the wind players to play recorders and I have not played them for years. There are still very few classes there that accept flutes which is why I stopped going there before now. I will probably withdraw my application. A disappointment.

Hello everyone. We had about four inches of snow here in RI in our town. Some towns got a foot. I talked to my cousin in MA today. He said we got 18 inches of snow there. The sun is out today and while it is cold, the snow and ice are melting in the direct sun. We are leaving Friday morning for Florida and will spend a couple of nights on the road before reaching Naples. Maryenne, my condolences on your loss. Happy new tractor to your DH. My DH has a Farmall Cub. He loves it. Janice, it sounds like you have been very busy at work! Shrimp and vegetables sound great for dinner. Esther, $400 is highway robbery! We have a 1,000 foot long driveway and pay much less than that. I hope you are able to find something reasonable. Peg, glad your doctor visit went well. Your closet sounds like a dream! Thinking about Joyce and her family. Have a great day. Lynn
