Over 60 and Still Working/Wednesday

Esther, I'm glad your doctor is being thorough, but I do hope that you get some relief soon.

Lynn, are you enjoying the warm weather? In Florida, it seems we have a very short window of pleasant temperatures before the heat and mosquitoes come out.

Janice, I'm sure there is a special place in heaven for you and the work you do.

Peg and Joyce, hugs to you both.

Today is the class I have been worried about. I'm teaching it with some engineers - they are supposed to have the morning and I am supposed to have the afternoon. But even yesterday, they had not timed their presentations and were thinking they were going to go past lunch into the early afternoon. I let them know - in a nice and firm way - that I will not be happy if they steal my time away. I am hoping they got the message. I am hoping to go to yoga after work.

Maryenne, I truly hope the engineers stick to their morning time and that you get the afternoon time as planned. Yoga afterwards sounds like a great way to relax and decompress.

Lynn, so glad you are enjoying some time in FL. Even though we had a pretty mild winter in IN we totally enjoyed our couple of weeks getting to walk around with a jacket, etc.

Joyce, hope you are doing AOK. How about your parents and DH?

Well as for us, I fixed dinner for everyone last night and I had to laugh....I fixed 2 lbs of ham and 1 lb of chicken and it was all eaten. My DD will be fixing 3 to 4 lbs of meat every night when her 3 boys get into middle school and high school. Their grocery bill will be ridiculous. Anyway we had fun. Two of the boys spent the day with us and our new patio furniture arrived so they helped me get the chairs put together and then they played in the huge box. The table was delivered separately and I didn't realize it had arrived until after DSIL found it. Anyway it is all together and looking good.

We hope to put our house up for sale in two weeks.....hope I can get everything done. Painters start in one week. I have a dr appt this morning and then will try to meet up with our usual lunch group.

That does it for me....

Good morning friends.
We are enjoying our time here with DH's sister and her DH. Yesterday we cleared out some invasive bushes from their fence. DH loves hot, humid weather. I do not. Fortunately it was not too hot. Today we are going out for breakfast and then doing some sightseeing.
Peg, I do not envy your daughter's future food bills!
Maryenne, good luck with the presentation. Hopefully they engineers got the message.

Good morning all!

Maryenne, really hope you get the full time for your class this afternoon.

Peg, sounds like you're enjoying the family visit. Wow! Like Lynn I don't envy your DD the coming grocery bills.

Lynn, so glad you are enjoying your trip and the time with family.

Janice, hope everything is going well for you.

Esther, DH also saw an orthopedic surgeon yesterday. He has been having a lot of hip pain on the left side, but has been putting off going because he thought the doctor was going to say it was arthritis and that he might need a hip replacement. However, x-rays showed arthritis in both hips but not that much arthritis. The doctor actually thought it might be the sciatic nerve being irritated by a muscle which crosses it. Interestingly for sciatic nerve, the pain has stayed in the hip and not gone down his leg. Anyway, the doctor gave him a cortisone injection and told him to come back in two weeks. If that has not helped, then he will do further tests. So really hoping that was all it took. It did make DH's left leg and foot completely numb for several hours which made it a real feat to get him back in the house when we got home, but we managed.

It is possible that we may go visit oldest step-son and family in Dallas either this weekend or next. If this weekend will leave tomorrow. Things are going pretty smoothly with my parents right now, so it's a good time to try and get away. I know from experience that can change in the blink of an eye, so would rather go this weekend and not put it off but not sure about their schedule. DH talked with step-son #1 this morning, and either weekend works with his schedule but will check with DDIL to see which would be best for her. If neither turns out to be good, we will go later on. So if I disappear for a few days, you'll know the likely reason.
