Welcome back Dutch - glad you had a good time - Beth -78 sounds wonderful
-Libby -sorry about your shoulder -hope it's just temporary. you are living the life there! I buy whatever ground coffee they have -since I am a "family member" (loyalty card!) i got 30% off so a pound was like $4.50 -and it's so good -the cart worked out really well - got some more organizing done -even threw out some junk!
Faye-didn't ride today -took me about 1/2 hour to strip the shed -(2 barrels full) then my OCD got the best of me & i did another barrel of loose hay behind the shed -where they throw breakfast hay into nets -scrubbed the water -fed them lunch.
As soon as I took Penny's sheet off she found the muddiest spot she could to roll -I just got back from de-mudding her (took 1/2 hour) and put a blanket on for the night -supposed to get below freezing again -and they are saying snow for Friday -depending on who you listen to anywhere from a dusting to 8"!
DH & I going to Not Your Average Joes tonight -it's "restaurant week" here in town & they are running a special -a bottle of wine & 2 entrees (choose from 12) for $50 -

Hi all,
Welcome back to Dutch and I am glad the trip went so well,
Libby the music museum sounds very interesting and fun.
Cathy-I hope the duets go well and the vet visit too.
Barb- Did the new cart work for the glass? It is nice when things can be organized.
Beth- At first when you wrote you were going to water the hay bales I had forgotten you made the garden with them so I thought it sounded weird. LOL. I hardly ever go to Walmart, probably because we have a Sam's club membership and it is right next door. By the time we are out of Sam's I am tired of shopping.
Faye- So nice that you have fun with your neighbors. We have nice neighbors but we don't socialize a lot with them, it is a shame really. I think a lot of my free time is spent at the barn.
The associate dentist is leaving the end of June. We knew this was a possibility when we hired him but we were all hoping his wife would match close enough that he could stay. It is a shame because he is a good dentist and got along well with everyone. My husband will have to work more hours and see more patients and eventually hire another associate. He is going to find one this time that is more interested in buying in to a partnership after a year. You always want to just have them work for you at first to see if they are a good match for the practice.
Another employee had to leave work yesterday due to a death in the family. Amazingly I did get to ride yesterday morning but had to go into the office afterwards. Wednesday is usually my day off when I do laundry and clean bathrooms etc. so that stuff if piling up.
I thought I had someone hired to do the spring clean up outside and put down some mulch but they backed out of the job because they are too busy. I don't like the guy I hired last time so I might ask the neighbors landscaper, or I will just do I myself. I want to have a patio party but not until late May so I have time.
DH and the kids and I enjoyed a nice dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse for his birthday. We came back to the house for the mock key lime pie (his favorite) and gifts. It worked out nicely and was easier to get the kids together on a week night then the weekend. Lucky for me the pie he likes is a refrigerator pie so I was able to put it together and get it into the fridge in about 10 min. before I left for work.
I am dreading this work day because we are down 2 employees today, one in the clinic side and one at the front desk so I will be back and fourth. It will be fine. Looking forward to the barn tomorrow but not the mountain of laundry. LOL

AMY-sorry for the upheaval at the office. are you a hygienist or dental assistant as well or mostly the office work? hopefully DH will find the right person soon. Glad you got to ride. and that DH's birthday went well. Hope you find someone to do the landscape work. Moving mulch is hard. I did it a few times then let my landscaper do it. we got lucky with our neighbors from the time we moved in. we socialize-we all get a long well. so it worked out nicely. When I was fell off Dorito and broke my hip and wrist they were amazing. Brought me lunches. Baby sat me so DH could go to the office (until i could do stairs and answer the door).
BARB-glad the cart help organize things. always nice to organize.
waving to all. Off to Kabbalah class soon. HAGD

Good Morning- Amy - sounds like you have a lot to juggle! Remember to take time for yourself (and Lukas!) Faye -enjoy your visit! Dutch - how are you feeling? Was Allie glad to see you? Beth- still coughing? (I am!)
Kind of lounging in this morning - will head over to pull Penny's blanket once it warms up -will clean/lunch as well. Probably will take Tundra to park -the latest weather report is that snow/rain early tomorrow-turning to sticking snow late day/night into Saturday (I'm supposed to feed breakfast Saturday) and upwards of 6+" possible -so much for spring. Sunday our horse group is having it's annual tack sale -i have some stuff tagged to go -splitting a table w/ a friend.
Since the water heater had to be replaced and on top of the new windows the flooring project has been put on the back burner till fall -one can only spend so much money!

Good morning. Got to water the bales today. We're supposed to be getting possible severe storms this afternoon but I can't count on rain as too many storms have bypassed the house and we didn't get any rain in the past. My coughing is virtually gone. Just a little runny nose which I attribute to pollen as the oak and pine trees are in full pollen season right now. I'm getting started on my embroidery order today. I will be doing the Maltese pattern today on various items. It's a intense stitched pattern.

Hi all, Got back early, the office was not as busy as expected. I have enough skills to be helpful in both the clinic and front desk area and at one point became x-ray certified. I am supposed to be a fill in when people are out. I never really looked to Healthcare for a career, I just kind of married into it. I would never be a hygienist, not cut out for that kind of work. yuck! LOL.
I have plenty of housework to keep me busy, just started on the laundry and it seems like a lot more this week. I am going out to hang the bird house right now. I hope we get a resident.

Good Friday morning. It's the end of the month so that means grocery shopping for me. Good thing I watered the hay bales yesterday. The storms all went mostly south of us. BBL.

good morning - Beth - glad the storms missed you - they appear to be pretty nasty. Amy - yes - hygienist is not something I would want to do! Hope you get some Lukas time today-
Fed the horses breakfast - then did a quick clean out, will throw lunch after Upreach. Storm is supposed to come in late tonight into tomorrow -4-6" which actually isn't too bad (except it's April!) Momma cow had a baby sometime yestereday -they think 2 more may be having them too -there are now about 10 cows on the other side of the farm -2 bulls -one last years baby -the new one & some "ladies" they are cute but boy are they messy!

did the water aerobics yesterday, just dropped the L weight when I felt pain in my shoulder. It's really windy and the sun hasn't peaked out yet this morning. I wonder about getting in the pool? I'll go see if they are still planning the class, if not, I'll soak in the hot tub, my shoulder feels really tight. We are driving to Las Vegas when I get back for the weekend. Then Monday packing up and driving home with the camper that has been in storage here for the past few weeks. We haven't paid for the kitchen cabinets so I was teasing dh last night to give me the money and I'll double it while he is at his conference in vegas lol! Amy, glad things weren't so bad at the office! Barb, wow, under 5$ for a lb of coffee, great deal! I have to buy some coffee to put in the frig and freezer here. Closing the PM for the summer is quite the process, the woman who has been helping my husband with cleaning here and her husband are going to clean and close up the place for us It's their business, and then they check the place once a month, run water, flush toilet, make sure everything is ok. Then they said to call a couple weeks before we come back in the fall and they will powerwash the outside, clean the inside and get it ready for us! Nice and very reasonably priced! Now I feel like a wealthy person, with help to open and close the "winter home" lol (11 x 35' trailer park model, it is very cute and nicely decorated, cathedral ceilings, sky lights and nice fans) Faye & Cathy: I'll have time to post those wonderful harp pictures in Las Vegas while dh is at his conference this weekend! Heidi has ridden and lunged Rosie a few times for me Dutch; welcome back and get better quickly! I'd better go get ready for the class, HAGD everyone!

Hi All, Super rainy here and overall cold and nasty. I should go ride anyway but I just don't feel motivated....maybe. went up one lb. at WI but between DH birthday and some stress eating it was not unexpected. Going to try and have a better week this time.
Libby= you sure do travel a lot. I don't do much traveling which is OK with me, I like the barn. good plan with the water aerobics to drop the weight when needed. Enjoy your hot tub time!
Beth= Hope shopping goes smoothly. I love how organized you are with supplies.
Barb= calves are so cute but I agree cows are messy! Friends of mine who farm sheep are probably getting some cure lambs right now, I should go visit.
Still doing laundry but getting down to the last loads. Why I have so much this week I don't know.

Hi, all! Faye, we had a good time playing the harp. The other harpist is a riot; really friendly and confident but really sweet. She plays with other harpists and in a band. I'll have to go see them sometime. We may try again next week as it's Spring Break (I think her hubby works at UC Santa Cruz. We played around with 4 or 5 of the songs but she wants me to tell her what to practice. It was hard for me to play with someone else...I'd mess up but tell her to keep playing and then I'd catch up. Very good for me! Amy, wow...you've had quite a week. It's really great that you can fill in for so many different functions...it does keep things interesting! But sorry it's messing with your barn time Libby, so where are you staying in Vegas? Are you going to be doing Vegas stuff or are you just going to hang by the pool all weekend, posting harp pictures for Faye and I Barb, yikes! More snow??!? It is April, isn't it...what's the adage? In like a lion, out like a lamb? But isn't that March? We have lots of wind right now and whoever said the allergy season was going to be killer was spot on! I keep getting ear aches; I take a decongestant, which helps, but it comes back. Love the mud story...I wonder if humans would do that too if we were still covered in fur Dutch, welcome back! So glad you got to see family and such. It's great that your son enjoyed it (and DH survived) but sorry y'all got sick. Hope you get to see Ally soon! So yeah, dentist was fine. Cleaning (which I hate since I have sensitive teeth) and a little repair and 2 hours later, on my way home Stopped at mom and dad's to check in on them. It's amazing what you find out when you get them to talk: 1) mom had a hysterectomy due to endometriosis (I did not know this...I must have been in Ireland when this happened, since I only remember her appendicitis); 2) dad has a cyst on his kidney that his dr is NOT worried about; 3) dad has the beginnings of neuropathy in his feet (his younger brother has it and is much more progressed). All I can think of is these are the things to look forward to Then had the harp session which was fun! Today is windy and cool...will try the pool. Haven't done anything for 2 days! Cathy

good Morning -outside is a fricking winter wonderland -icy,snow - April Fools on us!
Libby -enjoy Vegas -we are going beginning of May -there is a glass conference there now -every year I say next year I'm going to go -then I figure out the expense between airfare, hotel, and classes -and say -nah -can't justify it. I can dream. And March came in like a lion -going out the same way
Amy -even if you don't ride -go get some barn time -it always helps!
Cathy -nice that you played with that other harpist -I would guess it's hard to find other to play with? Dutch - back in the swing of things? How did Allie fare while you were gone? HI to Fay e- hope you are having fun w/ visitors.
Off to shovel the deck - HAGD --CBL

Good afternoon. We went into town and bought 2 new office chairs at Office Depot. They will be delivered to the store sometime next week and the store will put them together (we paid extra for that). Both of us got haircuts today. DH is going to use the weedeater later and I will water the hay bales. 321Dutchess-loved the pictures.

Beth- new office chairs are nice to have, especially if you can adjust them to fit you well.

trotting thru - computer didn't work well in Las Vegas. It was really busy there and a quick trip, fun- yet about 10 hours of driving round trip. Interesting to drive thru a Joshua Tree Forest, haven't ever seen or heard of one before. With planning on leaving tomorrow or Tuesday to drive home....it will take 3 days and 2 nights! Way too much traveling for me. We are kind of waiting for the awning guy who said he would install end of last week. Then didn't return calls!! If he will do it tomorrow then we will wait a day, if not bye bye to AZ and sunshine and back to rain!! HAGEvening everyone!

Hi LIBBY-good luck with closing up. that's a lot of driving. more than we did going to MD (about 3-4 hrs each way) BARB-cows? i missed that, where are cows? Sorry about the low sale . snow? enough! CATHY-so glad you had fun. part of playing with someone is learning to listen. they keep playing and you learn to jump in and catch up. So that's great. just what should be happening. Glad you got along well. have fun. so do you play the same songs or tunes that are actual duets with different parts? BETH-enjoy the chairs. DUTCH- loved the photos. son is adorable. castle must have been fabulous.
we had a spectacular time. the relatives are amazing, we all got along great. Had dinner with them Friday. we went to a Popular culture museum at inner harbor (had from 1700s to present comic books, toys etc , games) then dinner the next night (bought stuff at a Wegman's-- that was fun). Just a fabulous time
off to my 3rd laundry. HAGE everyone.
